Friend is a four letter word SOLO Completed

Dear Trent,

I have some great news that not even you, the oh so great master of deduction, will be able to guess. I'll spare you and go straight to the point because I'm too anxious to be acting mysterious. I, your favorite cousin, Virgil Grant Lee Armitage, made a friend. And, hey, before you can start telling everyone in Durmstrang, let me tell you a bit more about her!

Firstly, I have no clue how I managed to do that, to be honest. (I guess I really do have that stupid 'Virgil Charm' you keep talking about — who am I kidding? No, I don't!) Secondly, it's Adlai Rod, the Hufflepuff first year from a muggle background I mentioned in the other letter I wrote to you. (Fun fact, she likes Ghost, just like you!) Thirdly, I don't know what else to say, other than, Merlin, I'm giddy.

We met earlier today in the abandoned toilets (and you already know I was panicking) after I found her wandering in the dungeons next to the Slytherin common room, and we talked. Adlai said she wanted to speak to me because she wanted to come up with a good nickname for another first year, this time a Slytherin, named Isaac Dou, that I also talked to you about.

I know what you're thinking — "Virgil, you actually socialized with someone that isn't a part of our family or a dragon?" Yes, Trent, I did! And I actually had fun and didn't feel like throwing up for most of the time, which I can count with one hand how many times that's happened before. So, I hope you're proud of me, because, for once, I am!

Well, if you don't mind me asking: since you're so interested in making fun of me for having a girlfriend/boyfriend, how's your mission on confessing your feelings for Sabrina going? You've been awfully quiet about it in your letters, so I can only assume something incredibly bad happened or you're trying to make me forget about it. Which, surprise, won't work! I have a great memory, unlike a certain Durmstrang student. Better answer my question, or I'll write aunt Jessica about it, and you know how excited she'll get when she finds out about it. (Merlin, for the first time ever, I felt like a Slytherin).

And, congratulations on finally having Batsy's ownership, by the way. (Please think of a better name for the poor thing. You still have time!) It's been quite a battle against your mum — I'm surprised you didn't give up. Good job, soldier. And remember, just keep him as far away from me as possible and we'll be good!

I'm still shaking a little bit, and, unlike you, I don't have a best friend to do my homework for me, so I have a lot of things to work on. If anything else happens, I'll write again to let you know. Write me back as soon as you get this letter and I'm expecting at least three paragraphs. Don't be lazy!
