PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION. Josephine has perfectly even tanned skin that matches her dark mane of voluminous wavy hair that flows down to about the middle of her back. Her inherited her fathers light bluish/hazel eyes that contrast beautifully with the rest of her features. She has a slender build, often described as a "dancers body," which she obtained from the many years her mother forced her into ballet classes. Jo stands at about 5'0" even, but is likely to grow significantly in the coming year.

ASPEN WOOD. Wand-quality aspen wood is white and fine-grained, and highly prized by all wand-makers for its stylish resemblance to ivory and its usually outstanding charmwork. The proper owner of the aspen wand is often an accomplished duellist, or destined to be so, for the aspen wand is one of those particularly suited to martial magic. An infamous and secretive eighteenth-century dueling club, which called itself The Silver Spears, was reputed to admit only those who owned aspen wands. In my experience, aspen wand owners are generally strong-minded and determined, more likely than most to be attracted by quests and new orders; this is a wand for revolutionaries.

THUNDERBIRD TAIL FEATHER. Wolfe's wands were powerful but difficult to master, and were good for transfiguration work. Wands with Thunderbird tail feather cores, like the birds the feathers are taken from, are able to sense danger and can cast curses on their own. Wands with Thunderbird tail feather cores have been known to fire curses pre-emptively when supernatural dangers are present.

MANNERISMS. Josephine often has to be moving around to contain herself. She has lots of energy that she has to channel somewhere, and it comes at the expense of those around her. You'd often find Jo running around the grounds, perhaps hitting a squirrle with her wand. Jo always seems to be pushing hair out of her face- she can't for the life of her keep the mane on her head contained. Sometimes she just pins it back, but that isn't very common for her. When she's speaking very passionately about something, her mixed accents often slip to one side or the other very aggressively and noticeably. If she's irritated and wants to say something that she doesn't want others hearing, she'll just say it in Spanish. And if someone understands her... well, that's on her. They caught her slipping. Josephine often chews her bottom lip or on the inside of her cheeks if she's nervous- which isn't often. 

FIRST YEAR PERSONALITY. To Josephine, rules are more like... suggestions. Ones that she doesn't have to take! She always seems to be getting herself into trouble, but that's no issue! Jo is a smooth talker, especially for an eleven year old. She's very charismatic and outgoing and almost never finds herself cornered in social situations. It's easy for her to grab something by the neck and wrangle it how she wants it. She's incredibly smart and great at manipulating things to her liking. Jo portrays extremely confident, but inside she's always looking to fit in. Belong somewhere and not have to get crammed into this little box that her parents wanted so badly to squeeze her into.

Josephine Elizabeth Salvatore was born to Emilio and Maria Salvatore on March twenty-second, of the year 2008. Her family lived in a quaint villa in the beautiful city of Barcelona, Spain. It was there that she was raised until about the age of eight, and her family pick up and moved to London. In Spain, Josephine had no shortage of fun. The weather was always beautiful and she had tons of friends from across the street to play with at all times. On top of them, she had twin siblings- an older brother and sister named Enzo and Natalie. They're not her mother's children- they're from her fathers marriage before the one to Jo's mother. No one talks about Enzo and Natalie's mother very much. They both graduated from Hogwarts when Josephine was young and were always preparing her for what life would be like there. Her older brother taught her to fight and defend herself, while her older sister taught her the same things her mother had. How to make yourself an asset. Josephine's fondest memories were in Spain with her whole family. 

When they moved to London, her older siblings elected not to come with. They were old enough to be independent and didn't want to leave, so they moved out of the household and began their own lives. That's when Josephine started to get unruly. Without her siblings guiding her, she found herself getting into a lot of trouble. Her parents weren't happy about that, and they're hoping Hogwarts will help straighten their daughter out.

Maria Castillo was born to a muggle, middle class family in Granada, Spain. They moved early in Maria's life in order to give her a "better life" in a more progressive city. When she started to display powers, her family was distraught. They didn't know how to deal with them and felt hopeless until Maria's Hogwarts letter arrived. They didn't hesitate in sending her, where she became a part of the Slytherin house. A mediocre student, she graduated with just enough knowledge to get a job as a journalist. However, she quit said job after getting married to who she thought was the love of her young life and a much older man, Emilio Salvatore. Unknowingly, she was under his love potion, and always wondered why the spark between her and her husband faded so suddenly. Nevertheless, she had already had Josephine and had no intention on leaving her daughter and financial security behind. Maria was an incredibly nurturing woman- she took care of Enzo and Natalie as if they were her own children, and treated Josephine like her top priority. She wanted to raise her daughter to not need anyone except herself to get along in this world so Jo wouldn't end up in the same cornered situation that Maria was in.

Enzo and Natalie Salvatore have been nearly inseparable their entire lives. They've done everything together. Were Slytherin's just like their father, and graduated with equally high marks. After graduation, they moved back home with their father, seeing as he still wasn't doing too well. The death of their mother had been heartbreaking for them, but they were young. They grew up and the grief wasn't unbearable. Their father never grew out of it. They always felt like they owed it to him to be there, and wanted to be around for Josephine as well. However, when their father and step-mother wanted to move to London, and that was the last straw for the twins. They wanted to stay in the beautiful country they already lived in, so they moved out of their parents home and into their own in Madrid. They've taken muggle jobs- Enzo became a tech mogul after developing an app, and Natalie is a fairly well known artist around Madrid. The past two summers, Josephine has gone to stay with her siblings over the summer to spend more time with them.
