Mass Confusion
@Bridget Collins || Roleplaying as approved dNPC Karilyna Kawahara"Hey Phyllis," Karilyna called over her shoulder, "Any idea where we are?" Typically, the girl was pretty good at finding her way out of mazes and such, but Hogwarts was no maze. It was worse. According to some schedule Plott gave the Ilvermorny students, they were supposed to be at Defense of the Dark Arts first thing today. Naturally, the pair didn't trust the word of Plott and forged their own way. More than half of the time, the crazed headmaster told them the wrong thing, so Ilvermorny students had learned many times over to just ignore the weirdo. DADA or not, they would probably have been better off asking someone where to go. It's okay, you'll find your way out soon, Karilyna thought over and over again, while still highly doubting the truth of that statement. At least they weren't caught...
The comrades were in some long corridor--the stone walls and floor caused their footsteps to echo and made the space feel larger than it should've. Karilyna was not normally one afraid of detention--surely she could get her way out of one--but this was Hogwarts. She had heard there were something like 16 prefects and way too many professors. Although she was your classic troublemaker, Karilyna did not need a detention--and a bad first impression--in the famous Hogwarts Castle. Peering around a corner, she glanced at Phyllis. "Where are we?" she breathed.

One corridor bled into another. A left turn, a right turn, another right turn, and to no avail. No matter where the duo looked the DADA classroom was not to be found. Finally they gave up, stopping their pointless wandering.Role-playing as dNPC Phylicia Stanwood || @Thora Larkston
"Nope. Nada. I've got nothing," Phyllis answered. Technically it wasn't as though the Ilvermorny students had been completely left to their own devices. One of the Hogwarts staff people, who's name Phyllis hadn't bothered committing to memory, had told them the general location of their classes after they were handed their schedules. Phyllis hadn't exactly been paying attention and neither had Karilyna as they'd been whispering about what Plott might wear to the Masked Ball and subsequently straining to choke back their laughter.
Anyways, now that conversation, however amusing, was taking its toll as they not only couldn't find their class but they were utterly lost. And sure, Phyllis had a reputation for being a rebel, for not caring about the rules. She thought classes were pretty boring and had no problem skipping. But she wanted to represent Ilvermorny in a positive light. The American school might be a disorganized wreck, but she wanted to prove her school was better than her parents'. Heck, she'd do anything to show her parents up. And the older students weren't exactly role model students, so that meant Phyllis would have to make up lost ground. If only they could find the bloody DADA classroom.

Elena was faced with a very difficult decision in this moment:
The first, to help these kids find their way to where they're going, at risk of being late to class, the first time this would've occurred since Elena is meticulous about time.
The second, to abandon them to the halls of Hogwarts, and ensure that Transfiguration had no chance whatsoever of missing out on Elena's overly descriptive answers to whatever scientific question stood in the way of an O.
The pocket watch ticked in her hand as she considered.
The inscription had cost a pretty penny, on the outside it stated simply Tempus Ex Librus, on the inside of the cover, there was a different inscription which read Tempus Ex Errando, Libertatem Inveni.
Storytime: From the time I lost, I found freedom.
Freedom is the act of knowing people expect you to act in a certain way, but acting however you see fit instead, and right now the way Elena saw fit was to make sure these kids would know how to get where they were going.
"Hey there, you two lost? I know every secret passage in the castle if you need a hand. I've got all the time in the world." Elena smiled at the Ilvermorny students.
The pocket watch went tick tick tick in her hand, before she flipped it closed and back into her pocket as a reminder, where it was needed.

@Elena Jones ; @Bridget Collins ; @Aurelia Notrésvace ; @Grayson AckleyKarilyna was beginning to prowl around, trying in vain to find her way out of the labyrinth that was the Hogwarts corridors, but to no avail. The two Ilvermorny students were still lost. The young girl whipped around hurriedly at the slightest rustle. Maybe she was just getting paranoid, but there were way too many disembodied noises here in Hogwarts. She was about to whisper to Phyllis when a voice spoke up. A blue-haired girl stepped towards the pair, asking them if they needed help.
"Yes, please. We're supposed to go to the Defense of the Dark Arts Classroom with the other first years." Karilyna told the girl. She looked to be a second or third year, but certainly friendly. The older girl snapped something closed and slipped it into her pocket. "I'm Karilyna, by the way. I hope you don't mind helping us because we're really, really late--" Noticing her own rambling, the young Thunderbird shut up. Self-consciously shrugging her robes back onto her shoulders, she faced the older girl. She really needed to give these British students a good impression of the Ilvermorny students--Karilyna was quite honestly sick of the rumors she had heard about how the Americans were rude and self-obsessed. For one, she wasn't even originally from America. And, things would be so much better if only the Hogwarts kids gave them a chance. Shaking herself out of her mental rant, Karilyna smiled. This girl definitely seemed nice enough, though. She had offered to help, but the Thunderbird still felt kind of bad for taking her time.

Their savior came in the form of a girl with blue hair. Honestly, Phyllis couldn't have cared less about how the person that found them looked, so long as they weren't going to give them detention. All she wanted was someone to lead them out of the convoluted maze that was Hogwarts before they either died of starvation or from some random monster that lived in the deserted passageways. But the blue hair was definitely a bonus. It made Phyllis feel more at ease and less like preparing herself for some British person to look down a long nose and judge them.Role-playing as dNPC Phylicia Stanwood || Interacting with @Thora Larkston (Karilyna Kawahara) and @Elena Jones
"What she said. I'm Phyllis, by the way. And thanks. I'm sure we can find a way to get you off the hook for being late to class," she answered. Seriously, if this girl (whose name she did not yet know but for the time being was going to call Blue) got in trouble for helping them she was going to rant until the Hogwarts Professors' ears bled or something along those lines.
Also, did Blue really know every secret passageway in the school? That was something her boring parents probably didn't know about, unless they met in one of them to practice dark magic. "Do you really know where all the secret passageways are?" she blurted out before she could stop herself. Whatever. It was pretty much her job to care about that sort of stuff as a troublemaker.
