Dear Marcia Kingsleigh,

I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to write here, so I'll start by telling you a bit about myself.

My name is Delia Finch, nice to meet you. We're pen pals, so I guess we'll be hearing a lot from each other in the next couple of weeks. My favorite color is purple, I like Quidditch more than I'll ever like school, and my handwriting is pretty shit. Sorry if you can't read this. I grew up near Chicago, away from any No-Mags. I did make friends with one one time, but she turned out to be a witch... long story.

My mom and dad are generally away, leaving me and Nicolas (that's my brother) to our own devices most of the time. He's a bit of a nerd, very smart and magically talented and all that. He started at Ilvermonry this year, which is cool.

I'm a Thunderbird, by the way. I guess that would make me the most like a Gryffindor in the Hogwarts system, right? What house are you? What's Hogwarts like? Do you play Quidditch? I've never actually left the US before, so all of this is kind of weird for me. (Do you have an accent?)

That barrage of questions was mostly unintentional. I'm writing in pen too, so I can't erase it. Guess that means you've got to answer all of them now, right?
