“Give the ones you love a reason to fly, roots to return to and a reason to stay” – Dalai Llama
For as long as she could possibly remember the young Irish native known as Aydeen Eilis Murphy had always known just how different that she appeared to be compared to those of a similar age whether it had been because of her outgoing but loyal nature or her eccentric obsession with items and stories of a macabre nature, however, the brunette could never have imagined just how special she would be especially being raised within a smaller community within a religious sanctum knowing that she would need to act in the accordance of social normalities once an unexpected letter would arrive through the post addressed to the young eleven year old in late June of that year.
It was that very day that all that the Murphy family had believed to be true would be thrown into a state of dire jeopardy as the letter would go on to explain the truth lurking deep within the outskirts of the world they had known, sheading some light on the fact that their world was far less than normal as they had originally believed. For you see Aydeen would learn that day alongside her parents whilst her two elder brothers where at school the fact that Aydeen had a magical potential causing her to be invited to attend the ancient school known as Hogwarts starting September 1st alongside instructions of what supplies the young girl would need for her first year and where and how to buy those needed supplies.
Planning the trip to London within a month both Aydeen and her mother would head to Diagon Alley together, the enchanted shopping list in hand to start the first transitional stage of the young girl’s journey into the world of witchcraft and wizardry purchasing all of her first year supplies as prompted before planning their final trip as a family from Ireland to London for her departure date to school knowing it would be the last time they would be seeing each other daily up until she would return for the next school holidays much to the nervousness of both Aydeen and her parents and also to the resentment of her elder brothers who clearly didn’t understand why they weren’t as special as their younger sister.
Heading to London for a family holiday two weeks before the scheduled departure on August 18th, 2019 the family would spend the next two weeks together exploring all that the city had to offer from regular trips to the West End to watch musical theatre shows to the more historical features such as the countless museums and castles of the area soon their final day as a full family of 5 for a while would arrive… September 1st 2019. Awaking bright and early to take on the bustling streets of London to arrive promptly at the Kings Cross Train station the family would spend the next hour trying to locate the correct platform much with the disapproving looks of most they would approach for help, 10am would arrive as the family finally made the plunge onto Platform 9 ¾ with an hour to spare for their goodbyes which would soon arrive.
Running through the wall, Aydeen would be met with a loud hustle and bustle tone of noise as the platform itself was extremely loud and busy for the departure day, looking around she would notice how the room itself didn’t in fact look too different from that of the station itself bar the overly large black and red steam train stationed on the platform labelled the Hogwarts Express on the side. Taking in all of the sights, sounds and smells during her final hour with her family the Irish brunette would bid her whole family an emotional farewell as she boarded the train finding a vacant compartment to take a seat for her first journey to the school, grabbing her leather bound journal out of her book bag that her mother had bought her as a farewell gift that morning to write her very first entry on the front page to be updated later that evening once her school life would begin.
September 1st, 2019.
Dear Diary,
Well I’m on my way alone for the very first time as the train has just departed so here I am as promised writing about all of the major events that happen whilst I am away from my family here in this journal, so that I am able to reflect on my journey later on both by myself and with my family please bare in mind that I don’t usually do this sort of thing so I’m pretty much as newbie to this so hopefully I will get better the more I write in here.
Anyway I thought I’d introduce myself for now and I will write in you later when I finally get to school as right now there hasn’t been much of a change. Bye for now - Deen
Putting away her diary after signing off soon enough the brunette would hear a small knock on the compartment door before it would swing ajar to show a small brunette male stood in the doorway, tilting her head to the side curiously with a smile Aydeen would wonder what the male may want probably a seat or something with was fine with her knowing that the journey would probably be long and tiresome to do alone before she would need to put on her robes for the arrival to the school but only time would tell what the young male wanted.
