Cierra grew up thing that she was the only daughter of Henry and Nikky Kendal. She believed that her name was Lilah Kendal. She thought that Jaxon Kendal was her younger brother. Cierra thought that she was naturally an identical replica of Nikky except younger. She had bright copper hair that goes down three-quarters of her back, bright blue eyes, soft pink lips, long eyelashes, thick eyebrows and a button nose. And it wasn't until she received her Hogwarts letter that she knew differently.

Henry and Jaxon had been killed by a curse when Cierra was five years old so she had grown up with just Nikky for support. Cierra saw an owl fly through her bedroom window. She retrieved the letter from the bird and gave it a treat as a thank you. As she turned the letter over she noticed the name on it, Cierra Xaviers. She would have thought that the owl had made a mistake, except the location on the letter was her bedroom. She ran down the stairs into the lounge room and saw Nikky coming out of the fire. She heard Nikky ask her to sit down and told her that she needed to know something very important. Cierra sat down and was curious about what was so important that she needed to be told now.

Cierra could feel Nikky's nervousness but she started speaking before Cierra could ask. Nikky drew in a deep breath and started explaining. Cierra was first told that she was not really the Kendals' daughter. Cierra remembered muttering 'Cierra Xaviers' and get a sad smile and a small not in return and then Nikky continued with the story. Your parents had you and then they were taken and severely punished by witches and wizards who did not like the Xaviers ancestors. The witches and wizards threatened to torture all descendants of the Xaviers' until they were insane.
