@Rose MorganHe'd felt horrible really. Granted, he still wasn't sure why what he'd said had warranted such a reaction but he was still sorry that he'd made someone feel horrible in such a short amount of time.
Usually it took longer.
But that wasn't the point! No, the point was how bloody fast she'd been. He'd thought he'd have caught at least a small glimpse of where she'd run off to but not, that wasn't the case. He'd ended up wandering around a few different places for Merlin knows how long, clutching the book under his arm which he refused to take even a small peek inside because that would just be plain rude thank you very much.
Elsian wondered if she'd even noticed she'd left it behind. Surely she had to of? Perhaps she'd been tracking her steps throughout the large school and that's why he couldn't seem to find her. It didn't really matter. Either way he was failing miserably in finding the books rightful owner.
Which was why he was here. Back on the floor where it'd all started with pockets still filled because his room was way to out of the way and he did not want to risk missing the other when she passed back this way because again, she had to eventually retrace her steps here right? He hoped so. Because apparently he was just that bad at finding people.
At least this entire event made one thing clear.
"Well, at least now I know I can never have a job that requires finding people." he trailed off to himself, leaning against the wall to rest for a moment in his 'quest' as one girl had called it when asking if the raven had passed that way.
"Cause I'm absolute rubbish at this..."

Lost Book
As soon as Rose left the washroom, she regretted it. She didn't even have to run far to know that she had forgotten something.
"Oh no...I forgot my book! How stupid of me!" Rose smacked her forehead in annoyance.
"Now I have to see...that guy again..."
Rose covered her mouth and gasped. Had she said everything out loud? Her face heated up in embarrassment as she retraced her steps, trying to find the bathroom again. She remembered that she had a map, but it was no use since the washroom was old and appeared to be abandoned.
Which way did I go again? Left? Right?
Rose suddenly got scared. What if someone had already looked in it? All of her characters and her stories would be gone! All gone! This summer's progress would be wasted, and her characters, her poor characters. The students would call her crazy and she would never see the light of day again.
"Oh look at that girl over there," a Gryffindor much older than her whispered. "She has a notebook filled with crazy ideas. One was even about voices in people's heads! How dumb is that," they snickered.
Rose shook her head back and forth, and they too disappeared.
Great! Now I'm going crazy!
Rose's book had been extremely important to her. It was her mother's last gift before she went on...
The Trip
Rose stopped in the middle of the hallway and curled into a ball. It wasn't even that long since she had it, and it was already lost. Her mom would be so disappointed in her.
Rose put her hands over her eyes and sobbed. She tried to hold it in, but before long, her robe was damp with tears.
No! Rose thought. It's just a book, and I won't be deemed crazy for writing about tiny voices. I don't want to be reliant on anyone, and I won't be the crybaby I was anymore.
She wiped her tears and finally, with lots and lots of luck, Rose found herself in front of the washroom.
Before she could enter, someone cleared their throat.

@Rose MorganElsian had heard crying which was never a good sign. Usually he'd ignore it because usually people got embarrassed whenever strangers tried to talk to them about it and it would just get awkward but...
Peeking his head slightly through the doorway of the classroom he'd just wanted to make sure no one was hurt or something because then he probably should help, awkwardness be dammed. He'd pushed the door open, eyeing the area to see where it'd come from but he didn't see anyone, frowning he stepped back in, grabbing the book from where he'd placed it on a stray desk getting ready to give the search another go only to see her walking towards the washroom.
He coughed, clearing his throat and watched as she turned to look at him and instantly felt like he'd been punched in the gut when he saw she'd been crying.
"U-um," he stuttered slightly before straightening, holding up the book towards her hesitantly and, in true Elsi manner, unsure of how else to break the awkward silence simply said, "you... really don't make apologizing easy...you... you also forgot your book..." he paused, suddenly doubting this when he didn't receive a reply.
Had that sounded mean? He panicked internally. Quickly backtracking because what if he made her cry? He couldn't deal with crying girls! He was horrible at comforting!
"I mean!..."he grabbed for words but nothing came, "ugh why am I so bad at this?" he mumbled under his breath.

@Elsian CoxRose turned around to see Elsian looking awkwardly at her and was trying to...apologize?
Rose crossed her arms.
"you... really don't make apologizing easy...you... you also forgot your book..." the boy stuttered, out of breath.
Seriously? What was with his attitude? That was just plain mean. Sure, Rose got the memo that he didn't like her, but she had done no wrong. Well, except for yelling at him. But still.
After looking a bit distraught for a while, the boy muttered under his breath with an unreadable expression on his face. Rose had no idea what he meant.
"Oh yeah!" Rose exclaimed. "Have you seen a smallish book? I've left in the washroom." Rose modelled the book using her fingers, making them into a rectangle.
Rose got irritated again. She didn't care as much as before, but it still made her annoyed to think that she would have to restart a whole notebook again.
Trying to distract herself, Rose tried to forget their differences for a while and asked Elsian about his insecurities. After admitting that it was a weird question, she said that she had noticed that...he wasn't great at being nice, so there must've been something behind all that confidence and meanness. Rose was far from good at observing people, after years and years of practice, but sometimes they weren't exactly spot on, so she just wanted to make sure.
Of course, first she had to try not to offend him, and get on his good side. Not that easy.

@Rose Morgan"This book right?" he questioned, pulling it from under his arm to hold towards Rose.
"I wasn't lying when I-" he frowned, pausing to try and come up with better words. "I looked for you to give it back but you're fast. That's what I meant when I said...you didn't make it easy to apologize." he admitted, handing the book over.
"this places size probably didn't help either though..."
Shifting he looked anywhere but Rose. Feeling as if just looking at her funny would cause another outburst which would really defeat the purpose of why he'd been trying to find her in the first place. But it was hard to give a real apology when he couldn't even look at her without feeling like she'd get upset with him.
"I wanted to say sorry. I didn't mean to make anyone angry or upset." he said slowly, eyeing her from behind messy bangs he continued when she didn't suddenly start ranting like back in the abandoned bathrooms.
"It was just a joke. A badly timed one I'll admit but..."he trailed off slightly, one hand coming to slightly tug at a wild strand of hair, "honestly I didn't think you would all have such a reaction to it though I've been told I need to work on my tones."

@Elsian CoxRose's eyes grew wide as she saw that Elsian was holding her book. She took it, politely, and muttered thanks. Honestly, the boy wasn't too bad, he just had an attitude, but it was manageable. Now that Rose had taken a good look, he actually looked quite presentable.
Elsian tried to explain herself, even though Rose had already forgiven him. She wasn't one to hold grudges for long, so she just smiled and shook her head. After all, at least he tried to make it better, unlike some other people...
"It's fine. Though you really should be nicer. It might be more fitting," Rose sighed.
"I-Well-My reaction was just a one time thing, so don't worry about it. I just had a lot going on and I was just kind of annoyed. I wouldn't even normally talk like this, y'know, one one one, let alone yell at people."
Rose grinned. "I'm alright, so how about starting over? Hello, I'm Rose, nice to meet you. How are you...?" She stuck out her hand.
She hoped that the boy had at least a sense of humor. Truth be told, she really did think that his statement about the House's colours, but she was too hung up on his crude statement about the Hufflepuff.
In utter desparation to make peace with him, she flipped open the book, and did something she never did before.
"Would you like to see my book?"

@Rose MorganHe gave a small smile, obviously relaxing quite a bit when the other held out her hand. Taking it into his own he gave a tiny shake, playing along with the others idea, "Pleasure Rose, I'm Elsian and it's nice to meet you too."
The humor of the situation wasn't lost on him despite the horrible start that led to this entire mess. He was just glad that it seemed to have been a rough start and not something that would result in an enemy for the long term. He didn't want to be on this one's bad side.
He'd thought that that would be the end of it for the most part. SO he was really caught by surprise when the other flipped it open and gave him what he could only describe as a mix of determination and desperation which, fit with her house he had to admit. The surprised turned into a mix of confusion and curiosity when she offered the book.
Any confusion was quickly chased away by curiosity though as he nodded sharply when the offer actually settled in his head, because damn if he hadn't been curious about it during the time he'd been carrying it around!
"If its alright with you..." he agreed, "though you don't have to. It seems pretty important to you."

OOC: Sorry for the late update! I've been swamped with stuff irl so I wasn't that active.Rose became more relaxed, though she still kept her guard up. She didn't want to deal with him double-crossing her.
"...It's all fine with me. It actually is very important to me, but as long as it stays near my sight it'll be okay," Rose assured. She didn't know who she was trying to convince; herself or the boy.
Rose flipped open the book and, almost in an instant, the scent of burnt applewood and cinnamon came to her senses. She'd always loved the perfume her mother wore. It wasn't exactly as "attractive" as rosewater or lavender, but instead, it gave off a homely and comfortable feeling. This was why Rose treasured her notebook. It gave her a feeling that her mom was still with her.
She showed the boy her notes and drawings. She told Elsian about her stories, her friends from the books, and her observations. She told him how the moon and the stars seem to wave at her each night. She even almost told him about her mother but stopped just in time. The many, many observations had mostly been made while observing fellow peers on the Hogwarts Express and in the castle. A few profiles about students had been made, but they weren't gossipy or bad, they were just, sorta weird.
Embarrassed about her personality, Rose snapped the book shut. She had been too trusting before. She wouldn't make that mistake again.

@Rose MorganHe eyed the notes and drawings intently. He fought back the urge to reach out and touch because he knew he shouldn't. It would be crossing a line he'd already crossed before and ended up dealing with the consequences of those actions. She seemed to be easily spooked this one. Her body language tense and withdraw as if she was ready for something to happen but what he didn't know.
No instead he simply nodded, relaxing as he listened to the other speak because he quite preferred others doing the talking and she seemed to have plenty to say. It was blatantly obvious she was a writer if he ever heard one.
He was a bit caught off guard when she snapped her book closed, flinching away from the suddenness of the action and blinked at her, tilting his head in a manner that meant he was thinking over something new.
"You're a writer." he said, finger tapping at a desk in thought.
"You're good at that," he nodded, leaning back, "your drawings are nice and the characters sound real."
It was true too. He didn't give away compliments like candy or out of simple politeness like some people. So it was a true compliment from him though whether or not she saw it like was another thing.
Elsian eyed the door, stretching slightly as his muscles whined at him moving after too long of being in one spot. It hadn't felt like much time had passed but the total silence spoke otherwise. It was getting dark and they should probably leave this room. He still had homework he had to do before dinner after all.
"I need to go but," he gave the other a small smile, hand gesturing to the others book, "thanks for letting me see that. It's really cool."
