The Applicants were reviewed, the tryouts were had, and the decisions were made. There were enough talented and viable applicants that they had an intact first string string, a handful of second string players in case anything happened to the first string and a couple of people to keep in mind in case anyone ever decided they didn't want to play any more. Now that everything was out of the way it was time for them to have their first meeting, a chance to have everyone meet and get on the same page. To make sure everyone was ready he used the house elves of Gryffindor tower to get the sizes of everyone and got their armor and uniforms ready for them and at breakfast each team member was going to get their uniform delivered to them in a wrapped paper package with a golden lion emblem emblazoned on it and each package came with a note instructing them to report to the training pitch after the final class for the day had finished up.
Kyle made sure to get out on the Pitch well before anyone else had showed up, his leather beater armor was polished and clean, his black pants and crimson and gold uniform was neatly pressed and free of any lint or hairs, his Bat hung from his belt in pristine condition and to top it all off his Captain patch sat square on his chest. Part of his preparations involved setting up a broom set aside for each player, bats for those who needed one and a couple boxes holding Quaffles, bludgers and Snitches.
Once everything was set up Kyle began to pace back and forth infront of the line of brooms whit his hands folded behind his back. He had been in love with Quidditch since he was little, his father had taken him to plenty of games and with each game he grew to love the sport more and more. Since he first arrived to hogwarts and learned how to mount and fly a broom his thoughts went immediately to Quidditch and he began to spend as much of his free time as he could and most of his summer doing everything he could to become an effective beater. He studied plays and strategies and play by play recounts of countless games. Kyle wasn't sure how good his team would be, how many wins they would have, weather or not they would win the cup...but what he did know was as long as he held the title of Captain his team would give the game their everything. He would make sure the other houses needed to claw and fight for every single point they made and no victory against his team would come without battle scars.
This wasnt just a game to him, this was a passion. This wasn't just team to him, this was his family. There was nothing that could happen that could take that from him. Kyle took a deep breath and he could feel his chest fill with pride as he saw students clad in Crimson and Gold coming towards him, and if he didn't have such control over himself a tear might have come to his eye. This was his team. With them he had a chance to make something, not just of the team but of himself. This was his chance to prove to himself he was more than the dumber cousin, more than a trouble maker with more pride than good sense...more than just a monster.
He was Captain of the best damn team at Hogwarts

The armor was a little tight around the chest and Hugh assumed it had been one originally used for a student several years up. He was thankful for the gloves' fingertips being cut off. Being exceptionally tall was nothing new by now. Nor were clothes a few sizes too small. Yet he was in a certain way glad to know where this trait actually came from. His father (uncle, actually) had a lot to talk about still. But most of the confusion was cleared in the summer break. Knowing who you were wasn't too bad really. The issue was the lies mainly, though he understood Robbert.
Luckily school had a way with distracting children from their outside lives. Mostly by dumping dull homework in their laps of course. But this seemed something new and almost... exciting? When Hugh had first come to the castle one year ago, he'd have no answer to anyone asking what Quidditch was. In fact, he remembered a conversation about it back on the first train ride he thought. Or was that the houses? Anyway, Hugh had known none of it. Neither was he really a muggle sports fan. But Quidditch... well, what was there to add. The magical sport had quickly been able to grab his attention. He had even been able to get so familiar he could explain it to Nico. That was a fond day to remember, albeit very cold for the Slytherin girl as he recalled with a grin.
With large steps through halls and courtyards, across the grounds and into the pitch, it never took the lad long to travel anywhere. Or so he thought in his head anyway. His hair got caught in the wind as it usually did. The whomping willow would have been a perfect resemblance to his silhouette right now. Nevertheless he made his way quietly and softly smiling towards the pitch. His feet would drum heavily on the wooden floorboards as he made his way through the entrance. With a friendly smile he met with the familiar lion waiting for him and the others to arrive.

Euphrasia Destiny Millie was not an active girl. She never really showed an interest in sports, and she certainly didn't know why she wanted to sign up for Quidditch. She had never even wanted to join the Quidditch team. It was a split decision that made her join, but, in all honesty, she was so excited. She had always enjoyed Quidditch, and she was pretty good at it. She wouldn't be a good seeker, her eyesight was horrible, she would never be able to see a tiny golden Snitch. And there was no way she would be able to be a Beater, she could barely hold up the bat. Being a Keeper wouldn't be too bad, but it just sounded boring.
So she went with the one thing she knew she was good at; Chaser. She loved playing with a Quaffle, even at a young age. Her mother had been the Chaser for her house when she was in school, and luckily, the trait passed on.
When recieving her armor for Quidditch, the giddy feeling of butterflies raised in her stomach. She changed from her normal schoolwear and even just wearing it made her feel even more giddy. Even if she didn't make the main team, and was only a backup, it would still be so fun to play and train. The armor fit pretty well, and the spots that didn't seemed to adjust eventually. Millie could get used to it, anyhow.
She made her way down to the Quidditch Training Pitch. She had expected to see a few friends she knew had signed up, and she really hoped she was going to be on the team with them. Her thoughts swarmed her brains, and she almost didn't realize when she was finally at her destination. She looked up from the ground and saw a tall boy who she didn't recognize, and Kyle. The realization that Kyle was the Quidditch captain hit her quickly- it had been in the sign-ups too, why didn't she remember sooner?
"Hey Kyle!" She waved brightly, smiling to him. They weren't friends, per se, but they definitely knew each other. Specifically, from Illowy Magnard, a Slytherin girl who Millie comforted back in first year.
It felt like a lifetime ago.

Keeper. An interesting position that Max had a lot of thoughts on, but the main thought involved the fact that it was doable. With one hand more or less useless, he'd figured his lack of strength would mean the end of it for getting a Quidditch position, but after a bit of reading he'd discovered that wasn't the case. As long as you were able to stop Quaffles - using feet, broom, a single hand, whatever you wanted - Keeper was a position that was entirely possible to do. So tryout he had, and lo and behold he'd ended up getting the second string position. Not like there was much competition for it, yet he was pleased that he'd have time to sit back and observe the game before he was called into it. You could really get a feel for a game when you were on the bench.
Dressed in the new Quidditch garb he'd received at breakfast, he made his way across the pitch to where a couple of his teammates had already gathered. He recognized Kyle from class, knew a bit about Hugh from going to a common room sleepover where the other boy was once, and... the girl he was fuzzy on. Something Millie? It was one of those names he always forgot because it wasn't common.
"Afternoon," he greeted with a nod in each person's direction, unsure what the proper protocol was at these things. The line of brooms behind the team captain caught his eye and he stared at them for a long moment, considering. It would be odd not to use his Arrow since he'd begun to get used to its impressive speed, but it was probably better not to use his best broom for training in case something happened to it. Either way, flying was fun enough that even a school-issued broom couldn't change that. "What kind of training are we doing today?"

Her seeker robes were the best outfit Eris had ever worn. Her name on the back of the red and yellow robes was enough to make Eris beam from ear to ear. She had never seen a sight was enough to envoke such excitement and pride, all at once. It was far better than the dresses of the pureblood world or her oversized robes, that always were covered in sugar, in the pockets, along with wrappers and various folded chocolate frog cards. Even better than jeans! Not as comfortable, sure. But, far more interesting.
Eris had loved Quidditch from the moment she'd first learned about. Perhaps that was why the principle of being on the team made her so excited. The feeling of being suspended through the air, held up by nothing but a broom? It felt like weightlessness, like for a moment nobody would care about who you were or how short you were. As long as one could play the game and wasn't afraid to be in the air. Then, everything was alright. Eris had been on the team in her first year, but that hadn't exactly been great. That whole team had fallen through and was now just a distant memory. But, from seeing those who had made it onto the team this year, Eris had faith this year would be a quidditch team that lasted.
So, if they were such amazing robes, benefiting an amazing team, why had she already made them dirty? As Eris tracked through the grass towards the Quidditch Pitch, grass and dirt collected on the bottom of the billowing seeker's garments. The small Gryffindor was small, even by seeker standards. So, the robes she wore were just a little bit too big, trailing behind her like a cape in the wind. She held her wand in one hand. Just in case. Besides, that Eris had brought nothing else. Apparently, she hadn't needed to bring her broom. But, Eris still missed her broom nonetheless. She loved that hunking piece of wood.
Trotting down to the training pitch, decidedly ignoring that her robes were now faintly dirty, Eris grinned at the few people in the Quidditch Training Pitch. The excitement of Quidditch was more important than looking around and pretending to be a good pureblood girl. These were the people she would be around for the next year, and it was important to actually be friends with them. Not the fake friends that pureblood families always have. Running a hand through her violently red hair, Eris stepped closer to those gathered, a skip in her step, as she entered the Training Pitch.
She noted who the Captain was from his robes and waved once. "Hey! Eris Fawley, reporting for duty." Eris then spotted Max in the gathered group. He was the only really familiar face, so Eris went to go stand next to him. It wasn't that she wasn't friendly, per se. But, Max was the rational one. He was able to stay smart when excited, which Eris wasn't able to do. She was booksmart, but very bad with emotions. If something strange was going to happen, she trusted him to help out. Plus, he was her best friend. That meant it was practically a given that she would stand next to him.
Eris personally also had to wonder what kind of training they were doing, but she didn't say anything. Max had already stated her thoughts. So, instead of questioning the training, she looked at the guy she vaguely recognized and the girl. Wait. she knew that boy! He was food fight boy! "Hey. If you didn't hear already, I'm Eris! Glad to be working or.. training.. or playing? Dunno the word. Anyways, glad to be doing whatever this is with you lot."

Interacting with everyone
Griseldis never really played Quidditch before. However, as an optimist, she was always hopeful and she used to be confident in herself. Out of her strong desire to help her House and out of her own admiration to be just like Harry Potter. She bravely signed up for the Quidditch team that day but who would have thought, that she was chosen to be on the team. Not only did they approve her to be a Chaser, she was also the first string. To her, it was the greatest honor to have this position, so she would do her best and never wanted to disappoint their Quidditch Captian and the Co-captain. After all, they trusted her abilities and believed in her. It would be disrespectful if she doesn't train hard enough for her role. When she recieved the message from their Quidditch Captian to meet him on the training pitch, it made her super excited because she was going to meet the official teammates.
Quickly changing into her Chaser robe, she didn't know why but the moment she wore the robe on, it felt like she gained some special power. That's right, I'm officially a Chaser now! Griseldis thought with a huge grin on her face. She was glad that the robe fit her perfectly, looked like their diligent Quidditch Captian got her measurements correct. The crimson red and the bright orange lines color symbolized bravery and passion. The emblem of the lion was proudly printed on the back of robe, and it truly did give a bust for confidence. Griseldis really loved it, made her heart beating fast with pure excitement.
When Griseldis finally arrived at the Quidditch training pitch, there were already a few people there. Their captain Kyle DeRook was already there, of course, standing in front of the other teammates looking prideful. She recognized Euphrasia Millie, the girl her friend Alan from Ravenclaw told her about and they only met twice, last year at the hallway and the one time at the ballroom. But sadly, they didn't really have much interaction with each other and she didn't seem to join the tea party she hosted that day in the commom room. Eris Fawley and Max Avery, she knew those two joined the tea party and they both loved the desserts. There was one person she hasn't meet yet, a very tall boy with slighly messy brown hair and dark green eyes. He looked a bit intiminating due to his height but maybe deep down he could be a gentle giant.
Walking towards the team, she waved at them with a bright smile, "Hi everyone! It's me, Gris! Hope I'm not late." She stopped and stood right beside the tall Gryffindor boy and did a salute to the captain, "And good afternoon to you, captain! I really can't wait for our very first training to start."

Kyle walked towards the end of the line starting with Hugh, the first to arrive, and he slowly walked down the line looking at each player as he passed them before moving back to his position ahead of them infront of the school brooms. "For those of you who dont know who I am. You can call me Captain, Or Rook." he looked them all in the eye as he held a serious and hard gaze. "I dont care who you are, what you like, what youve done, or what you think of me. While you are wearing these colors-" he tugged on his Crimson and Gold Quidditch robes "You are apart of this team. And The team is your family. We support and look our for our family, we help our family get better, and we make sure anyone who crosses our family regrets it. If you came here hoping just for an excuse to get out of class or for personal glory you are in for a bad time. I will not let anyone hurt my Team, including the people inside of it" Then he suddenly raised his voice to shout out "You got a problem with that Lions!" it was less of a shout of anger or intimidation and more of a challenge, a call to action. He wanted to incite a fire within the bellies of his team and make sure they understood they the team, and the players on it were important to him and he wanted them to be important to each other as well.

Hugh wasn't much of a guy who enjoyed speeches. Too much talking if you'd ask him. He inspected Violet-eyes, Jawline, Foodswing and Bunbun standing next to him. Only one of them he encountered prior to this occasion. He sighed deep through his chest in realization they'd be doomed. Hope for anything wasn't Hugh's strongest suit. He felt alone lately, and with his final show in the dueling club he realized what an idiot he was.
Now here he stood, giving himself another chance. Quidditch could be a mean sport, something that might suit a monster like himself more. Long arms, with a bundle of strength to them. Though he did not like harming anyone, so the moment they'd have told him to be the beater, he'd have left the field. As violent he had read giants to be, he felt not the same. Nor had his "father" raised him this way. He wasn't fast either, though he was bummed to admit that to himself, that immediately ruled out the chaser and seeker spots as well.
Keeper it was then, and looking at himself standing on the field, Scarface seemed willing to give him a shot. He managed to bring out a very faint grin on his lips. People smiled when excited right? He felt excited very few times in his short life, but others often expected it from him. "No problem here, cap'n." his Scottish accent rolled of his tongue. He looked back to his side to see the others. "I guess some could use an extra buddy in a fight." He had no idea who he was talking to of course. But little care was left for the others to fit in his mind. Yet he was willing to commit to the team, for whatever good it'd do to him in the future.
