(Let's Duel!...anyway...This is the dueling room, Be safe and have fun!)

Marcus Enters the room and looks around, letting out a low whistle "Daaaammmmnnnn, nice!" He says in excitement as he looks around the room "Oh no way! Moving Target Dummies! So cool!" He starts bouncing around in excitement and places his things on a nearby table, drawing his wand and the notes for his spells, he starts reading through it, after about a minute he nods and grins wickedly, pointing his wand at a nearby stationary dummy, he shouts "REDUCTO!" as his wand fires the Reductor Curse and demolishes the Stationary Dummy, making it explode into pieces..

Marcus pauses then blinks "OH SHIT THAT WAS SO COOL!" he shouts excitedly then realizes he destroyed a training dummy "Ooh..uh..oops?" He muttered then watched as the Training dummy repaired itself "Well that's convenient.." he said with a grin, raising his wand once more "Confringo!" he shouts sending the Blasting Curse rocketing toward the dummy blasting it back into the wall, he blinks "Well..maybe I overpowered it a bit to much?" He asked to no one but himself then shrugs "Tempest!" He shouts once the Dummy repairs itself as a streak of blue lightning drills into the dummy zapping it causing it to burn

Alex was wanting a little bit of quiet time and she knew the three places that people would be right now. The Great Room, the Common Room and the Library. Why not go to the library, you ask? Because she knew professors would be there and that was just as bad as students. So here she was, in the Dueling classroom.
Alex wasn't really paying attention to her surroundings as she looked at the map in her hands and felt just as much as she heard the reverberation of a high-level(ish) spell. An uncharacteristic squeak exited her mouth as she came to an abrupt halt. "Gods! You could have hurt someone! Or yourself!"  Color was leaking into her face again, a red that brought out the freckles on her cheekbones.
She began to fold up her map and stuffed it into the small pockets of her coat. She had already gotten her Slytherin coat so the emblem was apparent to anyone who saw her.
Alex really couldn't catch a break, could she... All she wanted was a few seconds of silence, and it seems that she wasn't going to get it. Well, that was sort of what she asked for, going to a school with such a large population.

Don't underestimate me.

Marcus quickly spun around to face Alex, his wand raised pointing right between her eyes, his eyes wide in surprised then he frowned "You shouldn't sneak up on someone practicing spells, you might get hit with a cutting curse or something in the future" He said shaking his head at her "Are you going to stay and practice or go?" He asked kinda rudely as he was interrupted during his practice.

He turns back to the dummy in front of him quickly lashing out with a "Confringo!" as he sends the blasting curse straight into the dummy's head blasting the head entirely off and making it fly into a nearby wall, he lets out a breath then moved to sit down on the floor to take a break, using his wand "Aquamenti" He mutters as fresh water spurts from his wand onto his face and in his mouth, pretty much soaking him then he shakes his head to get the excess water out "Much better" He said then continued to just relax against the wall studying his spellcasting notes from earlier, mumbling about Spell-combos and Spell-swatting amongst other types of spells

Alex pursed her lips, shaking her head. Did she really want to get into this on the first day? Not really but she was going to do it anyway. She watched as he spouted off several spells, many that she didn't even think she could accomplish, at the moment anyway. She hadn't really tried many spells, even though she wasn't registered as a witch before going to Hogwarts. Her parents had always made it clear that as a beginner, she needed to be careful, as she didn't know how strong her magic would be or even where to begin on how to control it. But as she watched the boy drench himself, a spell did come to mind.
"Yes, I suppose. But if any professors come by, I'm throwing you under the bus, got it?" She didn't even give him a second to reply as she pulled her wand out from her coat and faced one of the dummies, "Aqua Eructo!"
A thick stream of water erupted from the end of her wand and hit the dummy dead in the chest. The rush of water was so fast that it knocked it off its post and the top half went rolling across the room, soaking wet. She frowned as she got the spell to stop and it left her with a rush of adrenaline. "Woah. That was so cool!" She was grinning from ear to ear.

Vera was lost. She was supposed to be finding her way back to the Dueling Club room for an impromptu club meeting/session, but somehow ended up in the trophy room... then some odd reading room.... a hall with portraits, a hall with different portraits. While changing staircases were initially quite fascinating, they soon proved irksome in the way they seemed to be toying with her and whether or not she'd actually get to her destination. Finally, she wrenched open a door to see students within, one of whom was flinging a jet of water and another who was on the floor, drenched. "Er, hi," she waved at the girl, closing the door behind her. She supposed having her wand out was a good idea, so Vera extracted the instrument constructed of smooth, cherry wood from her robe pocket. She smiled, attempting to be show some support, "Nice, you certainly showed... it.... " she trailed off, recognizing the boy. "And him? De Wynter, you look like you need a towel..." she snickered, assuming Alex must have blasted him with water as well.

Marcus shakes his head with a chuckle "No worries, we just aren't allowed to use spells in the hallways, which really doesn't stop anyone, but yeah they would probably award us points for practicing if they stumble upon us" He said to the girl as he relaxes and watches her use her spell "Hmm..A bit to much power, but nicely done" He complimented her with a smile, getting back up once he notices Vera "Hey Vera, how are you?" he asked with a silly grin, "And no I don't need a towel, I soaked myself earlier to cool off then she showed up" He explained shaking his head free of water as he points his wand at a separate dummy and continuously flicks his wand toward the dummy as he shouts "Incendio! Fulmen! Ventus!" as a ball of fire hits the dummy head on then a lightning bolt followed by a Burst of Wind drills into the dummy leaving holes across the body and head, panting softly he nods at his work then watches the dummy repair itself.

moving toward a nearby chair he plops down on it and relaxes "Maybe I shouldn't have used Ventus yet..whew so tired.." he mumbles then stretches "Fulmen and Incendio looked grand though, I should be ready for whenever the dueling club starts up" He nods to himself with a grin hyping himself up then just leans back into the chair and slouches, putting his feet up on another desk.

Alex settled on a little smile as a new girl walked in but she was really happy that she had been complimented on a spell that she had only casted like, twice. The smile disappeared, however, when she realized that the girl, Vera, knew the other guy. She had no idea who he was but she had been glad to talk to someone, even if her original purpose for coming to the room was to get away from people. She internally chuckled at herself before sliding her wand, which was a rich cherry wood, into her pocket. It was really nice to actually have pockets.
"I'm Alex by the way. Alex Turner." She offered her name even though no one had asked. She knew that her last name would not matter but she said it anyway. Man, she really was overthinking things today. Maybe she just needed to go bed. It was late after all. She mentally shrugged before returning her attention back to the other people in the room. She knew that this year was going to be interesting... The boy certainly seemed so, as she had never seen anyone that could fire off magic like that. Granted, she hadn't really seen much offense magic but it was still impressive.

Don't underestimate me.

Joanne was sitting in the tribunal. She wondered if she was the only one who wasn't casting spells already. She knew only a few charms, but that was all. She had no idea how to use spells like 'reducto' or 'aguamenti'. Unsure whether she should be ashamed of herself, she decided to watch and learn from other students, and try to pay as much attention during class as she possibly could. Because the thing was, she really wanted to be better. Her parents obviously hadn't shown her how to use magic, knowing it was illegal for her to use magic in a city such as York. And besides that, her parents hadn't wanted for her to get in trouble with either muggles or mages. Also, her parents also have admitted that they found it hard to use magic at first. The talent was there, but how to get to it was still a mystery. For now she just had to do with knowledge of plants and animals and the sorts, which wasn't that bad either. But it wasn't magic..

Those who do not believe in magic will never find it.

Alex realized that she was being ignored and a flare of frustration flowed over her like a hot rain. Not that she wasn't used to it by now but she had hoped for things to be different at this new school, but it seemed that it wasn't. She suddenly felt overwhelmingly tired as her hopes seemed to drop. "Bye, I guess..." She barely muttered this before walking out of the Dueling club.
Was there something wrong with her? She didn't know. Her pride, however, told her that it wasn't something wrong with her, but perhaps something wrong with the timing. Her footsteps solemnly echoed on the stone steps as she climbed down to the Slytherin common room. She would just have to call it a night. Maybe tomorrow would be better? It just had to be. Maybe this year wouldn't be as great as she thought. But then again, it was only the first day. She was starting classes tomorrow! That was exciting, right? She could focus on her studies rather than the other students, as she had originally planned. Connections were important but she had to work hard as well. If she had to do it on her own, then she would.

Don't underestimate me.

As one Alex leaves the room another one enters. Alexander makes his way towards one of the training dummied. Earlier today he had learned the stupify spell, which he gratefully added to his limited arsenal of spells. HE went to stand about 15 feet from one of the training dummies and would look intensely concentrated. Then he would let his wand make an upward motion and would say the words "Stupefy." And a red bolt would come from his wand. But even if the spell had left his wand it did miss the target and slammed into the wall next to it.

Mentally cursing himself Alex tried it again, once again the word "Stupefy" came from Alex and it did hit the training dummy but it was simply a glacing blow. Whilst that in magic was just as good as a direct hit it meant that a moving target could have easily dodged it. He also noted that the dummy hadn't been affected much and noted that he might need to put a bit more power behind it the next time. He then began to practice the Expelleriamus spell, but that still had some issues. Especially with the wand movement and the incanctation. This he patiently practiced, intending to control the pronounciation and movement before moving on to casting the spell. But even that was proving to be an issue. Thus Alex kept practicing, keeping his focus entirely on that specific spell
