A Dark Meeting
-Please do not respond unless you are Hydra Ostrega-
A gentle scribbling sound filled the dim Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, a burgundy haired female being the cause of said sound. Perlyn sat contently upon one of the stools within the classroom, her forearm resting on the table with her chest pushing against it and her vivid blue eyes staring attentively at a textbook.
This is how any individual would usually find Perlyn outside of her personal time. Her body hunched over a book and all her attention placed firmly on said book, with a quill held at the ready in her right hand if she was taking notes or working.
Peeling her attention away from her notes for a moment, Perlyn glanced around the classroom, the scribbling sound stopping at the same time. The space was relatively abandoned.
'Well its not surprising considering class is over.'
Moving her eyes around the practically empty room as she thought to herself, Perlyn lifted her quill from the page in her notebook and began moving it towards the inkwell which rested nearby.
'Hopefully Professor Mellowrose doesn't mind my staying in he-'
Perlyn's thoughts cut themselves off as she heard the sound of a small ding.
Swiftly turning her attention down to her notebook, a mix of a scream and a groan left Perlyn's mouth as her eyes landed upon the scene.
"Agh!"
The dinging sound had been the inkwell tipping over, spilling onto her notebook. Perlyn's expression twisted into one of disappointment at her own clumsiness. Thankfully the results weren't too disasterous as the ink had spilled onto a blank page.

A Dark Meeting
Hydra presently believed Defense Against the Dark Arts would become one of her favorite courses, if not the favorite.
Lyra had a penchant for Herbology, Potions, and Magical Creatures; Hydra herself exceled in Transfiguration, Charms, and the very classroom she lingered in now. Only after the ruddy-haired girl surveyed the room did Hydra slip in; when she did not see the professor there, she elected to do as the other did and sit down to do some notetaking herself while she waited. It seemed to her to be a productive use of time, and Hydra was all about productivity. Turning to the page they had left off at, Hydra's eyes browsed the text to reabsorb what she had heard in this days lesson. She understood it all well enough, but Hydra had wanted to clarify something prior to an assignment being given.
Her reading was put on pause when the other girl let out a ghastly sound; she found herself jumping in her seat and clinging to the edge of the table, her textbook being thrust toward the edge of the table and nearly falling over the precipice when the instinct to fight or flight enabled her to whip out her wand and point it toward the offender. Her mouth took shape of a hex, but her reaction time was quick enough for her mouth to clamp shut before emitting a single word. She was not quick enough, however, to prevent the textbook from falling to the ground, where it audibly slammed shut; the echo of both noises rang in her ears.
The aggressive point of her wand shifted from student to book, and in a deliberate and deft gesture Hydra summoned her book to her: "Accio The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection," and it flew to her chest. Before even regarding the other student once again, she looked over her shoulder. Well, what had sounded like the apocalypse had not, by the grace of Merlin, summoned the professor; oh, imagine if he thought it was she, Hydra Ostrega, who had made such a terrible sound...!
But it hadn't been, she reminded herself, at least not entirely, and her part in it had the other girl to blame... but, well, there had been no consequence. No harm, no foul. Hydra looked back toward her fellow first year, who up until now had been wholly ignored by Hydra. Composure regained, she placed the book back onto her desk and moved to sit herself down, all neat and calm and poised. Her eyes shifted from her to her white-finger tips, which still clung tightly to her wand from her alarm. Not fully composed, as it so turned out. Relax, she told herself.
Her voice a bit huffy, her eyes turned back toward the offender as her words came: "By the sound of it, I imagined you might have seen a dementor," Which of course was not, and could not, be the case with Hogwart's security measures in place; but that did not make the sound of anguish and despair the other girl had released any less real to have provoked the thought in the first place. Shifting her weight on her stool as best she could, Hydra tilted her head. "What happened?" She asked next, the miffed edge to her voice fading as the question was posed. It was as much as an 'are you okay?' as one would ever get from a frazzled Hydra.

A Dark Meeting
Perlyn felt her blood run cold as a booming and startling commotion rang out from behind her, her expression of disappointment converting to one of utter shock and embarrassment. The female's body becoming rigid as she realized the situation she was in.
There was someone else within the classroom besides herself... and she had just loudly yelled out.
Perlyn could hear the other individual who also occupied the room move around. Her body flinched slightly as they voiced the summoning charm, accio, and then the name of the textbook for the class.
The burgundy haired female's lips drew together into a stiff line as she thought, trying to figure out how to explain herself. Before Perlyn could begin taking action, the other person spoke out to her.
Her mind froze as she listened to what the other had to say. Once they had finished speaking, Perlyn stiffly turned her body upon the stool she sat upon, her eyes meeting the figure of a fellow female.
God this might sound stupid...
The female pushed her anxiety and worry to the back of her mind, preparing to speak.
"Hehe... Um...," she began, gulping when she paused for a moment. "S... Sorry if I startled you. I... Uh... I yelled out because I accidentally spilled ink on... on my notebook."
Perlyn rested the palm of her right hand against the back of her neck, turning her eyes towards the floor in embarrassment.
