Mayhaw Wood
Mayhaw is the name given to the fruit of the species of Crataegus series Aestivales that are common in wetlands throughout the southern United States. The principal species are C. aestivalis, the eastern mayhaw, and C. opaca, the western mayhaw.
Mayhaws grow in moist soil in river and creek bottoms under hardwood trees. The fruit ripens in late April through May, thus the name may-haw. The fruit is also found in bayous surrounding lakes, such as Caddo Lake on the Texas/Louisiana border. Mayhaws are often collected out of the water from boats, and the fruit is used to make jelly.

The Goldstone Family include a variety of Half-bloods, Muggle-borns, Muggles and rarely yet distant cousins of Pure-bloods. The family name 'Goldstone' branched from the suspected Germanic name 'Goldstein', both names showing a presence in the United Kingdom and the United States. Compared to the Goldstein family, the Goldstone's are less in numbers and branch into Irish, Scottish and Australian nationalities. Markus Goldstone, a black-haired wizard born from Northern Ireland and lived the rest of his life in Britain, London, attended Hogwarts as a Ravenclaw. He was always very hardworking, and an intelligent man like himself became an Astronomer, for he was always interested in the sciences of space. After he graduated from school, he was offered a position in the Australian Observatory for Wizards and Witches in Melbourne. He gladly accepted the offer, planning to start a new life in Australia where he will study the planets and stars across the universe.
Sometimes, Markus will mingle with Muggle scientists to help with their studies and projects, growing to understand the Muggle lifestyle through the years. One of Markus' Muggle friends introduced him to a brown-haired Australian woman with green eyes, known as Mollie Price. Mollie was two years younger than Markus who works at a Muggle hotel in Melbourne. Of course, she was a Muggle herself, but the two found themselves getting along and forming a friendship of their own. After at least one year of their friendship, a relationship between them began, for they had more in common than they thought. Mollie never knew about Markus being a wizard, or the fact there's a Wizarding world at all! Their bond grew through the years as they attended their jobs, eventually saving enough money to buy a house not too far from the city. With a good starting point after 3 years of their relationship, Markus asked her hand in marriage in July. Considering the abundance of Half-bloods and Muggles in the Goldstone family tree, marrying a Muggle with no magic history was of little to no shame to the family's impact. During the preparation for their wedding, Markus trusted Mollie, revealing to her about being a wizard and his magical abilities, informing her everything about the Wizarding world. Mollie assured that she will forever keep this a secret from the public in order to keep their love from being jepardized. For the rest of their years as a married couple, Markus Goldstone and Mollie Goldstone lived a happy life on the outskirts of the city.
A few years after their marriage, Clara Goldstone was born on February 29th, 2008. She was not born alone, for she was also born with her twin brother, Andorus Goldstone, who was born approximately 20 minutes earlier than Clara, making Clara the younger sister. Growing up, the two have distinct different features: Andorus has black hair like his father while Clara has blonde hair and blue eyes. Despite being twins, they look nothing alike (apart from the shape of their nose and their pink cheeks), many strangers wouldn't have guessed that they are siblings. Clara also looks nothing like her parents, but she has possible similarities from her grandparents and great-grandparents. During family gatherings, Clara is often the odd one out due to her appearances looking nothing like the black-haired and brown-haired folk. Some suspect that it's magic that distinguished her hair colour differently to most of her close relatives, possibly the first signs of a Metamorphmagus, but this is merely a myth.
As Clara and Andorus grew, they formed a strong sibling bond mostly due to being the same age. As children, they barely got into trouble, but sometimes both of them will be caught in mischief, which was usually harmless curiosity. At the age of 4, Clara's magical abilities started to show form, only being expressed when Clara showed great emotion. Whenever Clara experienced laughter, small objects around her would begin to float, whereas if she began to cry, fragile objects such as plates and glasses that are in her vicinity will find their way to fall off tables and shelves, breaking on the floor. Andorus was very curious about Clara's abilities, but as the years pass, he never possessed magic. This poked a hole in their relationship as Andorus grew jealous of Clara, and as much as Clara tried to maintain their bond, Andorus grows more distant. The both of them attended the same Muggle Primary School, forming their own friendships with Muggles.
Markus, like a proud father, would tell stories about the Wizarding world to both Clara and Andorus, but mostly Clara. He would tell them about the differences between Wizards and Muggles, comparing them to the foods they ate, the pets they own, using technology and magic, their daily routines, their types of transportation, their favourite sports (especially Quidditch) and so on. But the one thing that interested Clara most, by the age of 7, are magical creatures. Clara has always loved animals, and as a young child, she would often pretend to be an animal. But the animals from the Wizarding world sounded far more interesting than the animals in the Muggle world. She thought she'd heard it all until her father taught her about dragons. That was something she thought was just a Muggle myth! She knew that she wanted to meet dragons, and she wanted to learn everything about them. Her father fears that becoming a Dragonologist would be too dangerous for her, but Clara persists to hold true to her passion.
On August 2019, at the age of 11, Clara Goldstone recieved a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The letter sparked a joyous day for her father more than Clara herself as he never believed that despite living in Australia, Hogwarts will still accept Clara as one of their students. With help from Clara's grandparents and relatives, Clara and Markus travelled by plane (the Muggle way) to live in London in Markus' old house and her grandparents' residential area. While Clara goes to Hogwarts, Andorus attends a Muggle high school with the care of their mother, forever destined to live a Muggle life.
Clara hoped to be in Ravenclaw just like her father did, but to her surprise, Hufflepuff was the choice she was designated to. Clara wonders where her path will take to achieve a career with magical creatures and possibly dragons. She hopes that her time in the Hufflepuff House serves her the best that she needs to grow and learn everything magical.
