Needing Extra Help
Eri sat alone in the dark potions classroom located in the dungeons. Potions was an interesting subject but it brought painful memories to her. Her parents always told her potions was one of their easiest subjects and it should be hers too, but it is not easy to her.
She came to the potions classroom to work on potions and maybe get some extra help. Simply put she can't even do a simple potion correctly and she doesn't know why.
Standing at a cauldron Eri read an ingredients list to see what she needed for this simple potion. Looking at the list she went to the shelf and gathered the few things she needed for the potion. She continued working on her potion. She was getting the first step correct.
Unfortunately as she stirred the color started to turn the wrong color immediately. She started to get frustrated but kept stirring. At this point she normally gave up on her stirring.
After a few more stirs it started to go the right color but it still wasn't quite right. "Ugh why can't I get this right" She said to herself. She sat down and slammed her book down in frustration.

Nora usually liked coming down to the potions room to observe the rack of ingredients on their shelves. She had done it the first day she had arrived, and she had done it ever since. Walking into the room, Nora saw her fellow roommate, Eri, making a potion. She stood her ground and kept herself behind Eri, making sure not to disturb her. Potions are tricky things to make after all, and even a skilled wizard needs to concentrate when making one. She walked over to the ingredient rack, and yet again, began to observe every little thing that was on it.
The array of mushrooms, poppy heads, unicorn hair, and wormwood was always a delight to see. Every now and then she would even see a vial of dragon’s blood in one of the locker compartments, providing her with a her share of daydreaming, wondering what the expensive ingredient would be used for. She hadn’t a clue what it could really be used for, but imagining the mostly unrealistic possibilities helped her pass the time whenever she wasn’t feverently writing in her notebook.
Suddenly, the slam of a book almost gave her a heart attack, and she turned to see Eri looking quite frustrated. Nora cleared her throat and waited for the girl to turn and see her,” Would you...um...like some help with that? I’m pretty good when it comes to potions.”

She turned around and saw nora. "Oh its just you Nora. Sure I would like help."
She smiled and looked around at her failed potion that was now way off color. She just didn't see how people could do this. Transfiguration was way better and way easier than potions.
Opening the book she just slammed she went straight to the potion she was working on. Then she went and got new ingriedents for the potion.
Coming back she sat them by the cauldron and sighed. Potions were so hard. She smiled and started preparing the ingriedents. She didn't know where to start with the potion.
Smiliing she thought about each step of the potion and where she went wrobg. She didn't know where she went wrong and she didn't know how to fix it.
Sighing she waited for Nora to cone help and she didn't know what kind of potions Nora liked to do. Eri was just trying to work on a simple potion.
Thinking she geanbed her locket and remebered her aunt trying to teach her potions which never worked any ways. Smiling she looked at her and smiled. At leadt she wanted to hel her. At least someone was nice.

Nora walked over and stood next to Eri, reading the instructions for the potion the other girl was trying to make. She stayed completely still and started observing the recipe, memorizing the instructions and quantity needed for each ingredient. Nora honestly loved doing this, potions being one of her fortes. The subject had always fascinated her. A whole area of magic dedicated to the making of what basically was a magical juice! Her brothers had taught her a few potions themselves, from potions to help enhance your attention to potions that made you sick enough to skip class. They even had a few recipes of their own!
After memorizing the instructions and scrutinizing the ingredients carefully, she started to visualize the making of it in her head, and looked over at the failed potion attempt. Seeing it’s off color, she went through the process again in her head, wondering where it could have gone wrong. Everything seemed to be done right, so what could have resulted in its off color? Nora looked back over at the ingredients that Eri had set out and observed them as well. She was clueless at what it could have been! Everything seemed to be fine, so what caused it to fail?
After a minute or so, a lightbulb lit up in her head, and Nora realized what the mistake may have been. She turned to Eri and asked,” Did you by any chance stir clockwise? The recipe calls for you to stir counter-clockwise for it to work.”

Hearing Nora ask her which direction she stirred Eri face palmed and looked up. "I stirred clock wise. How stupid of me." This is why potions were not one of her fortes. She smiled and looked at Nora. Stirring in different directions always messed her up. At least she had someone who could help her.
Eri finished prepping the ingredients she started to put them inside the cauldron. After all the ingredients were in the cauldron she started to stir counter-clockwise as the directions asked for. Why did potions have to be hard.
Eri watched the potion turn the right color. She smile in delight as she got the potion right. She can't believe she stirred the wrong direction the first time. That was such an amateur mistake but alas she was very horrible at making potions. When the potion finally was the right color Eri got a vial and put the potion inside. Putting the potion in her satchel she smiled. "Thank you Nora," Eri said. She closed the book and put it back in her satchel and thanked looked at all the ingredients wondering what the teacher would use them for. She started walking towards the door.

Cameron ran into Eri upon entering the Potions classroom,
"Oops, excuse me." He said with a smile as he went around her and walked towards his station. Placing his school bag on the floor and looking at the ingredients that were surrounding his cauldron he began working on the potion. Bringing his cauldron close to him he got the juice of Shrivelfigs and added 2 drops of their ruby blood to the cauldron. Stirring his potion slowly he also started to heat the potion, Cameron began chopping four daisy roots more finely and adding that as well into the mixture. Grabbing the 5 caterpillars and a well-shaken wormwood he stared vigorously. Adding afterwards four leeches and stirring again slowly. He grabbed the rat spleen and shook it before adding it to the cauldron. He looked around to see how the other students were doing as he stirred the potion. He heated his cauldron to a high temperature. Watching the clock as he waited for his potion to cool a bit before waving his wand. Once the potion was completed he got the vial and added the Shrinking Solution into it, noticing the neon green color it started to glow in the dim-dark room of the classroom. He placed it gently in his school bag as he packed up and made his way to the door.
