Sylvie was used to the warm air of summer, but now that nighttime was approaching the grounds became colder. She pulled a jacket that she always had just in case she got cold out of her messenger bag. She quickly put it on, giving a sigh of relief as she felt a bit warmer. Without the jacket she was just wearing jean shorts and a t-shirt.

She looked around where she was standing and spotted the tallest tree on the Hogwarts grounds. That was the place where she was going to complete the first task. But she wasn't going to be alone in this effort. Illowy was also joining the girl out here tonight. Sylvie decided to walk over to the tree and see how high up it was, and sure enough it was very high. "Hopefully that broom will work." She thought as she sat with her back against the tree's trunk, looking up at the few stars that had started to emerge in the night. They glowed against the night sky, and made Sylvie remember times when her dad would take her to the woods and they would just lay there under a warm blanket and watch the stars go by. Sometimes her father would even take her out when there were shooting star and she'd make a wish. None of them ever came true, but it was still fun. She smiled to herself as she admired the peacefulness of Hogwarts at night.

If there was one thing that Illowy could thank her cousin for, it was how to be sneaky, and how to get in, get what you need and get out. Tonight it was simple; snatch one of the flying class's brooms, get to the tallest tree, get the flower and get both themselves and the brooms back where they belonged without getting caught.

Dressed in her darkest pair of jeans, a dark, loose knit sweater and her sneakers, the girl moved quickly and quietly onto the grounds to the shed where the brooms were kept. The lock keeping them safe what no match for a simple cast of Alohomara, and within minutes she was in and out of the shed, broom in hand and hurrying towards the tree; ever vigilant that there was no one who might see her.

As she approached the tree, she saw Sylvie waiting on her. The massive tree made the already small girl look ever tinier for a moment as Illowy reached her, "Whatcha sittin' 'round for?" she teased, offering out the broom to the blonde. Illowy was not a flyer by any means; and it was by far her worst class. That had been the main reason she'd approached Sylvie to work together. Even if the girl was a Muggle Born, she was a far better flyer then Illowy. Just as well, it made sense to find herself some sort of an alley in this odd society they'd found themselves in.

"Plan is simple; you fly, we get the flowers, get the broom back to the shed and get the hell back to the common room before the prefects realize we've gone. Quick and painless."

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

The voice of Sylvie's classmate snapped her out of the sort of trance she was in. Her cheeks slightly reddened, and she giggled. "He he, sorry! I was just stargazing." She pushed herself off the ground so she was standing up. She looked back up at the sky. "I've never been out on the grounds at night before. It looks really is beautiful right now." The twinkling stars refleted in her green eyes as she looked up.

She took the broom with a smile. She didn't show it, but she was a bit nervous. She wasn't the best at flying a broom. SHe could do it, but her fear of crashing led her to go very slowly. "Okay, sounds like a plan. Are you sure you want me to fly? I will probably not go very fast. I don't want us to crash and get in lots of trouble." She said as she swung her leg to the other side of the broom so she was stradled over it. There were some prefects in the dark witch society, and Sylvie didn't know if they'd turn the two girls in or not for this. She kept a firm grasp on the front of the broom and left enough room on the broom* that Illowy could also sit on it.

Illowy paused a moment as Sylvie mentioned how beautiful the night was on the Hogwarts grounds; and she couldn't deny it was fairly lovely. Clear skies, crescent moon bleeding its light over the fading grass as autumn approached; and it was quiet, aside from whatever nocturnal creatures were scurrying about their evening, "I suppose it is." she agreed with a soft smile before bringing her attention back to the mission at hand as the other snake took the broom.

"Well, if I fly, we're defiantly going to crash." the brunette reminded, tucking her hair behind her ear as the other girl mounted the broom, "Slow and steady, no need to rush." she assured (though it was debatable if she was trying to reassure Sylvie or herself), as she mounted behind the girl, wrapping her arms around her waist. Gazing up towards the tree, the thing seemed absolutely endless. They'd have to travel as close to the top as possible before even hoping to find these silly flowers.

By Merlin's beard did she hate the idea of being so high, Just keep focus on the tree and the sky, don't look down, and you'll be fine, she mentally coached herself. After all, surely Sylvie could handle to simple task of flying straight up; Illowy had confidence in that much.

"Well, if I fly, we're defiantly going to crash." "Slow and steady, no need to rush."
She nodded, waiting for Illowy to mount the broom as well. The other slytherin did so, and Sylvie felt the brunette wrap her arms around her. "I wonder if Illowy is scared...." She thought as she looked over her shoulder to see the girl looking up at the tall tree. "It is very intimidating. If I'm being honest, I'm a bit scared, but mentioning that won't help anything." Sylvie sighed. She smiled at Illowy. "Okay then! I promise I won't crash the broom. We'll be fine, trust me." She said, looking into her friend's pale blue eyes, trying to comfert the both of them.

She faced forewards again, getting ready to push off the ground.
"Okay, we'll both push off on the count of three. One... two... three!" Sylvie said as she pushed off the ground into the air. It felt like there was a very small breeze on her face. She wanted to get up as quickly as possible to avoid getting caught, but she also didn't want to crash. Her desire to avoid crashing was stronger then her desire to go quickly, so she had the broom accending very slowly. The front of the broom was only a bit higher then the back of it. At this pace, it would probably take a while to get to the flowers in the tree.

In spite of Sylvie's attempt to offer the other snake a look of comfort, it hardly did anything to ease her nerves. She knew she wouldn't feel at ease or safe again until her feet were once more firmly planted back on the ground where she belonged. She simply needed to keep her attention on the task at hand, and she'd have to believe everything would be fine from there.

The blonde counted, and on her word, Illowy followed the girl's lead and pushed off the ground with her, holding her breath as they lifted into the breeze and slowly began their ascent onwards and upwards. It didn't take long before Illowy was finding herself getting a bit anxious, however, given their slow speed. With all her heart, she did enjoy Sylvie's cautiousness as to be sure they wouldn't fall or crash... but one couldn't ignore the fact that the sooner they got up to the blossoms, the sooner she could be back on the blessed ground.

"Sylvie... no rush, no pressure... but if we don't speed it up a bit, it'll be morning before we even get to the flowers." Illowy tried to keep her tone controlled and neutral in an attempt to not only keep her housemate from worrying, but to try to keep her own growing nerves from exposing themselves as well.

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.
