A Friendly Visit

Sylvie had been in the car for about three and a half hours. She looked out the window and watched as flowers, signs, and trees quickly zoomed past her. She was inside her car with her father and sister. The tow other family members were going on a trip for Sylvie's father's job. The two of them were going to Japan, and her sister, Crystal, was super excited. She was practically bouncing in her seat. "I can't to eat ramen there, maybe go to a cat or owl cafe, OH, and the clothes! I bet they have such great shops there!" Crystal exclaimed, pratically drowling.
Their dad chuckled, "You should be more focused on your sister right now, after all, you won't see her for a couple weeks." Sylvie could see him smirking in the rearview mirror. She turned to her sister and said, "Dad's right you know. Shouldn't you be saying goodbye to me instead of fantasizing about when I'm not here?" Crystal looked over to Sylvie and made a pouty face. "Well you're the one who decided to go to stay at your friends house instead."
This was only partly true. Sylvie had made plans with her friend, Saskia, before she knew that her father was going on a trip to Japan. The girl had always wanted to go to japan, mainly because of the food, but she would rather spend some quality time with friends. Japan would be there later. "I made the plans before I even knew dad was going to Japan! Don't worry, you'll have fun without me." Sylvie smiled warmly to her sister, and Crystal's pouty face seemed to disappear. "Speaking of plans with friends, this looks like the place." Her father said, gesturing to the app on his phone.
Sylvie stepped out of the car and her father went to the trunk to get her bag. She looked at the big house that her friend lived in. The outside was covered in grey paint with white accents. It looked like it was a two story house. There were a few bushes in front of it, but not a lot. Sylvie's father had parked on the edge of the road. The girl made her way up the stone steps to the door. She looked around it for a bit before finding the doorbell and pressing it, wondering who would answer the door.
