Nico stepped up the stage. She didn't wear her uniform that time. Instead, she wore red overalls.A soft blush rested under her foundation as the crowd appplauded. Nico wasn't much used to stages. Especially with strangers. Students she hasn't met before. She did recognise the blue haired Slytherin but didn't pay much attention to it. Nico looked over at her partner in crime, Dan Palmer. She hadn't seen him before but ....she was ready to put all the awkwardness aside and work together. As a team. Eyeing him with her iceblue hues, she greeted him with a nod.

'Ready?.. Let's do this..'

She straightened her back and relaxed her shoulders, aiming her wand at Landon.

No matter, clever is as clever does and it was not clever to fire off your spell before Elena did, she spun her wand like a drumstick and grinned like she'd just been given the perfect Christmas present.

What was the way to go here, she wondered, would it be sufficient just to use the spell? No, of course not, that was not duel etiquette, true duel etiquette, in any way. After all, Elena was only thinking of one song on this, "Eisenhower, vaccine, England's got a new queen, Marciano, Liberace, Santayana goodbye!"

"Incendio!" Elena whooped, made the flame shape of the incantation, and fired the spell at the girl who just gone after her friend, new friend, probably soon to be best friend. Not forgetting to use her free hand to do the devil horn sign beloved by all rockers.

"We didn't start the fire, it was always burning! Since the world's been turning!"

Wow. Just kill all the fun. Put the fun in camps, why don't you?

Dan sighed. As before, he left his shoes at the staircase, and padded barefoot up the stairs. He hadn't bothered to put his uniform on. They were of fine make, sure, but they were big and flowy and might have interfered with dodging. Unlike with Arc, this was a 2 on 2. So it had potential to last a while, and he wasn't going to be uncomfortable for that long, so no shoes it is.

Still though, this was supposed to be fun, why the hell did their referee hafta act like this was the worst thing in the world? Oh whatever.
He glanced at his partner. He'd seen Nico a few times, but never much bothered to talk to her. She was certainly pretty; beautiful, even. But for some reason, Dan wasn't attracted to her. He still didn't understand why that was.

He then looked at their opponents. They were Slytherins, which made Dan wonder if he'd feel the same rush of accomplishment he (theorized at least) would if they'd beaten a pair or Ravenclaws or Gryffindors or something. He decided not to care; he'd get at least a similar feeling of accomplishment winning this duel.

'Ready?.. Let's do this..'

Dan smirked and nodded slightly.

He decided to go with the same way he played JRPGs back home. Debilitate the opponent, and then slither in (heheheheh) for the kill.
Not a literal kill though, he wasn't going to kill his opponents here.

He made a downward loop with his wand in the shape of a fat drop and pointed it at Landon, with as much flair as he could manage. Two attacking the same one seemed like dirty tactics, but being honorable is what caused his duel with Arc to go as badly as it did.

Landon’s nerves nearly got the best of him as he raised his wand. The thought of being in a duel had excited him before but now that he was in the midst of a two on two duel, he could almost feel the sweat gathering on his forehead.

He was lucky having dodged not one but two attacks directed at him and he took a deep breath. He gave a quick glance to his partner, Elena, and nodded to her. He raised his wand toward Dan and with conviction in his voice - he flourished his wand elegantly toward his direction as he shouted out - “Incendio!”

Landon, somehow, was able to dodge both his and Nico's spells. Which was strange; Landon didn't look that spry. On top of that, Elena managed to light Nico on fire. Oh sure. THEIR spell hits.

Dan was about to repay her in kind, but hesitated. Elena saved his ass back in the Quidditch match against Ravenclaw. Dan was having minor trouble working up the desire to attack her.
So instead, he decided to focus on someone else.

"Alright Landon Calrissian. Let's see how long you can keep your dodgin' up."
Dan dramatically waved his wand correctly, and pointed it at Landon.
"Mucus ad Nauseam!"

Still standing and highly successful. Just how she liked it.

Elena almost felt a little protective of Dan, which is probably why she didn’t hit him in the first round. Who needs to figure out that kind of thing when there’s attacks to be made though?

She aimed at the other opponent, the redhead who was on fire, and started off the very next attack.

With a flourishing spin, followed by the right wand movements, Elena cast the next spell, “Rictusempra!”

Action: Rictusempra on Nico.

Nico shrieked when the blue haired girl managed to set her partly on fire. It hurt! Her new outfit got damaged too but ... it was still repairable. Why so agressive.. she thought. Holding back the need to cry, she bit her lip. It triggerd something inside of her, this pain.

'You want fire, little girl...?' Tilting her head she gave the Slytherin girl a bright smile. 'I can give you fire...' Her voice was cold. Some little fire wouldn't bring her down. She wasn't going to show her true colours.

This didn't seem like a game anymore... This was serious.

Taking a deep breath, Nico straightened her back, held her head high and aimed her wand at the one who seemed to be out to hurt her. 'Two can play that game...'
