Jay had been lonely for almost half of the summer vacation. They had hoped everyday that their guardian would come back from whatever troubles he was stuck in. When the Hogwarts Express reached Kings Cross Jay ran out of the compartment yelling ‘Goodbye Lily!’ as they ran down the aisle, and as soon as they got out they didn’t see Sir Victoria at all. It was a terrible day, but now Lily Gray was coming to stay for the remainder of the summer. Every now and then Lady Angelique would come and visit to make sure Jay was alright and that the dark wizards weren’t bothering them, but she wouldn’t stay long enough to inspect every little thing, and that meant that she probably wouldn’t find out about Lily staying if Jay was careful. 

On this day Jay had decided to wear their favorite outfit - a black button up long sleeve shirt, and black pants that were folded up at the bottom since they were too long, along with a pair black converse. It may not be the best outfit ever but it wasn’t too girly, Jay wouldn’t want Lily to know the terrible truth... 

Jay quickly ran to the gate of the manor and waited for a bright girl with red hair to show up.

Stepping out of the small carriage Lily dragged her trunk behind her as she took long strides toward the gate of the Victoria Manner. The manner was much bigger than Lily had imagined it to be. In fact is was twice the size of her own Manner back in Brazil.
Glancing around she found the Manner to be quite Beautiful in its own mysterious way. It was nothing like the Gray Manner In so many ways.
When Jay had left for the summer Lily was disappointed that she would not have her friend to talk and spend time with over the break. When Lily had received the owl from them she was over joyed that her friend had invited her to spend the rest of the summer with them.
Of course her mother was nowhere close to thrilled with her choice of spending time with Jay but it had no effects on Lily, she was quite used the the disapproval of the woman who had filled the position Of mother for Lily for her entire life.
As Lily neared the gates she found Jay standing near the iron barrier that stood between the two. Jay was wearing a black button up long sleeved shirt, black pants, and pair of converse. Janes outfit was the exact opposite of Lily’s own outfit. She wore a light green sun dress with brown leather sandals. Something plane but Comfortable to travel in.

Smiling to Jay she reached for the gate and pushed...

A smile immediately spread over Jays face as they saw a figure with red hair and a green dress- it was Lily! They noticed Grays look at the manor, Jay chuckled, “The manor may look a bit mundane, but believe me it’s a bit more interesting on the inside,” Jay said with a big smile on their face. Jay Victoria honestly wanted to say many things to Gray, but it would be disrespectful to babble on and on. “So... how do you do?” They asked her as they grabbed Lily’s trunk to help her. 

This was definitely going to be the greatest summer of their life. Jay already had ideas on what to do, and if they mixed their ideas with Grays ideas there would probably be endless things to do! Oh and something important that shouldn’t be forgotten; Jay was planning to change their hair color this summer, the decision was gonna be hard for sure. Purple? Blue? Red? Aquamarine? Razzmatazz?? The choices were endless, honestly, if hair coloring was forbidden Jay would probably die. 

Suddenly, they saw a tall man outside of the manor door, he was knocking furiously on the door. At first glance Jay thought he was a muggle but then they realized he was a wizard, “Er... Let’s go through the back way...”

As Jay took the trunk from Lily’s grasp they began to advance toward the Victoria Manner. As they neared the front door Jay had suddenly changed route and had begun to head towards the back of the home. Looking toward the front door Lily found a man dressed in black that was standing at the door vigorously knocking at the manner’s doors.
“So... how do you do?” Turning her attention back to Jay she gave her a bright smile, as she felt the warmth reach her cheeks from embarrassment of not paying attention.
“I’m just Grand, you?” Lily chirped to her friend. Glancing back to the door that she had seen the man at she saw that he had not yet left the front door of the manner. Speeding up so that Jay and Lily’s steps were in-sink. Lily’s eyes began to wander around the property of the Victoria Manner, the majority of the property looked a little run down Like the front gate mostly. The majority of the property was well kept and was quite beautiful really. Turning her head Lily found Luca sitting atop the trunk that Jay had graciously decided to carry for her. Picking the tom cat up from the trunk she sat him atop Lily’s shoulder and he began to curl himself around her neck.
“Do you know the man at the front door?”

As they walked towards the back, Jay noticed how many vines the manor was covered in. Gosh I need to get Lady Angelique to clean this... No wonder I can’t even look out through the windows in the west hall... They thought, and the funny thing was that everything else was quite well kept- magically. “I feel great! Especially now that you’re here,” Jay added slyly. 

“Oh um... That man used to come here a lot, up until a year ago- right about a week before school started. I forgot his name, let’s just say he did something my guardian didn’t like and he got shunned from this place,” Jay explained, a small memory popped into their head...

“Also, don’t talk to anyone other than the maids. It’s kinda a rule,” Lily heard Jay say. Grinned from the already horribly planned joke she whispered in Jays ear.
“ So no talking to the one and only wonderful Jane Victoria!?” Making a small gasping noise she placed her little hand in-front of her mouth. Giggling Lily sprinted up to the door and held it open for Jay to walk through. Not wanting to be in their way Lily backed up and held the door from behind. As she waited for Jay to reach the door she turned her head to watch Luca atop her shoulder. At the moment Luca was playing with a small strand of string that had come loose from Lily’s green dress. Pulling the string from the dress and dangling it in front of his small cat face he began to swing his little paws around.
Ever since Lily had gotten Luca he had always been quite the playful little thing even if he wasn’t a kitten anymore. Lily began to wonder if Jay liked cats, she hoped so because if not she would probably have to keep Luca contained within his create. Lily had assumed that the owl that had brought the letter to her was Jay’s. She wondered when they had gotten the flying pet.

Jay couldn’t help but to let a girly giggle escape their mouth. They could feel the blood rush up to their cheeks, “I-I mean- um- I-“ Jay stuttered, not knowing what to say, so they then quickly moved on to another topic as they then walked up to their window and opened the curtains. They haven’t opened the curtains in such a long time that dust went flying into their face, causing them to cough. Jay didn’t really like the brightness from the sun. They liked things dark, they even used candles all the time even though they had lamps, that was just another uncanny thing about Jay. 

“So uh... what’s your cats name?” Jay asked her, even though Jay may not of seemed like it, they were in fact, dying to pet him. Secretly, Jay loved cats a lot, once they found a pretty little grey cat in the street and they grabbed it hoping to bring it back to the manor but Sir Victoria expectedly scolded them, and in the end they had to let the kitty go. “Cats are interesting creatures...” Jay muttered. It would of been cool if they could morph into a cat, it had always been a dream of theirs...

Waving away the dust in the air Lily began to inspect the room. Running her hand across the walls Lily found candles placed in different places of the room that seemed to already have been burned to their end. The room had layers of dust laying atop the different areas of the room, laying there untouched. The room was quite beautiful actually, even with the more older looking texture it was still breath taking. Turning back to Jay she attempted to join back into the conversation.
“ Yes I agree, cats are one of my favorite creates other than thestrals and wolves of course.”
Grabbed Luca off of her shoulder she turned to Jay placing him atop Jays head. As soon as she placed to mean Tom down he Stiffened , Luca made a loud hiss and attempted to jump back into Lily’s arms. Smiling at the possessive Tom-cat she caught him mid air and placed him right back atop jays head.
“His name is Luca, he tends to be very moody when he doesn't get his afternoon nap.” Remembering the question she wanted to ask she turned to them once again
“ Oh and I almost forgot to ask, can Luca walk freely or does he need to stay tucked away? But if we did leave him behind he tends to be quite loud.”.
“Anything is fine with me.” Lily smiled brightly to her friend.
