The flaura of the Hogwarts grounds
Private with @Sylvie Maple
The sun shone through the candyfloss-looking clouds as the lake seemed to be covered in thousands of golden stars. Charlotte walked towards it, her hand rested on her bag and sat down by a tree.
She took a deep breath as the smell of earth and trees filled her nose. She opened her bag and got out her favourite notebook: leather coated that seemed like it was hanging on for dear life.
It opened up like by magic as she took out her quill and ink. The trees danced in the wind and birds were chirping. 'Everything is so calm and peaceful' she thought as she started drawing the flowers surrounded her.
It had been a while since she had taken time to be alone with nature, away from all her day to day troubles. Everything seemed much less hard here, everything was nice. Even though she knew she wasn't going to be able to spend her whole afternoon here, she looked around, taking in the warm heat of the sun, a light breeze brushing over her.
Yes, she had really missed this. She put her hands on the floor, the grass passing in between her fingers as she closed her eyes and smiled. When she opened them again, she looked around to spot some interesting flowers, perhaps she could pick some to put in her book. Her quill in hand, she flipped to a new page and wrote neatly.

It's the flower I see the most around me for the moment! They are just so pretty, and I can't seem to remember the latin name... Oh, Bellis Pre Perennis. I guess people really find it pretty to call it that way.
Before she could pick one daisy, she heard a twig crack and looked up.

The flaura of the Hogwarts grounds
"What a beautiful day..." Sylvie thought as she walked on the path leading towards the lake. The sun was shining brightly making the lake sparkle. The clouds in the sky weren't dark and gloomy, but instead light and fluffy. Flowers were blooming all over the grounds, making everything more colorful and full of life.
A she walked, Sylvie picked up a dandalion growing near the path. She stopped and closed her eyes, thinking of something to wish for. she took a deep breath in, and then blew out, opening her eyes to watch as the seeds danced around in the air. She smiled to herself, dropping the stem in the field of flowers and continuing on her way.
As Sylvie approached the lake, she noticed a girl around her age sitting near the tree she normally went to when she wanted to relax. She frowned a bit to herself. "Well, she isn't looking my direction, so maybe I could just sit down without her noticing???" With a sigh the girl headed over to the tree. She tried not to disturb the girl, who seemed to be writing something in a noteboook.
She was about to sit down when she heard a twig crack beneath on of her feet. The other girl looked up at her, and Sylvie froze. "So much for not disturbing her..." She thought, laughing awkwardly. "H-hello there... It's a nice day, isn't it???"

A girl.
A girl was walking up to her, seemingly embarrassed to have made some noise. Charlotte looked at her and smiled, reassuring her.
'Yeah, the best of the year so far!' she chuckled lightly. Patting the grass beside her, she gestured the girl to come sit down beside her as a warm smile spread on her face. She didn't know if the girl really wanted Charlotte's company, but being who she is, she didn't mind a new friend.
'It feels so good to be here, huh? The wind brushing over your face, the grass underneath your fingers… You feel free…'
she said as she took a deep breath, closing her eyes.
She did feel free here. It was so perfect, and it reminded her of home, of her numerous afternoons spent daydreaming under the warm sun. Even though her sisters would often tease her about it, it more than often ended with them all sitting on the grass, talking about all and nothing. She opened her eyes again to see the dark lake glimmering and reflecting into millions of tiny golden specks on its surface.
The water must feel nice. God, now she wanted to go for a swim. No, not happening.
Maybe she could just dip her feet?
She took her shoes off gently, setting them aside and stretching her feet a little. Walking towards the edge of the lake, she felt the cold grass tickle her and than the mud. She submerged her feet in water as she looked at the castle in front of her. Yes, this was a good day.

The girl gave Sylvie a friendly smile.
Sylvie heard the sound of rustling grass next to her and opened her eyes. The other girl had made her way over to the water and was dipping her feet in. “The water must feel good this time of year. Maybe I should join her.” She thought, slipping her sandals off her feet. The grass felt nice on her feet as she walked down to the lake. As she stepped into the mud, she thought, “oh well, looks like I’ll have to wash my feet off later...” After the mud came the water. At first the water sent a chill throughout her body, but after a while it started to feel nice. She spread out her arms and let the wind blow her hair back. She closed her eyes and giggled a bit, feeling the warmth of the sun shining on her face.
She nodded. The other girl gestured for Sylvie to sit down beside her. “She seems really friendly, especially ...” She thought, sitting down next to the girl. The girl told Sylvie how free she felt out here, and it was true. She closed her eyes, letting the wind gently blow on her, and wiggling her fingers in the grass. The word ‘free’ was a very aqurate way to describe how Sylvie felt. A warm smile formed as she let her mind focus on this moment, and nothing else.“Yeah, the best of the year so far!”

She felt the girl walk towards her, and dipping her feet in the water too. Charlotte smiled sweetly at her, only realizing they didn't even know each other's names. Facing the girl once more, she held out her hand gently.
'I'm Charlotte Cadunt, 1st year Hufflepuff. And you are?'
she said warmly.
The lake really was magnificent and Charlotte couldn't bare to simply look at it any longer. She held her skirt and walked a little deeper in the water, feeling the soft and mossy rocks beneath her feet, the fresh water brushing against her skin.
'I wish we could swim'
she chuckled
'I guess I'm gonna have to wait until summer camp to do that... Are you doing it? I'm only staying a week.'
She looked back at the girl, wondering if she found it weird for Charlotte to go in the lake like this.
It was on days like this, days where she felt so happy and cheerful that some sort of magical aura seemed to float around her, her hair seemingly swept by an imaginary wind.
She really was impatient for the summer, all those long days, a little boring from time to time, but certainly better than having homework pile up on the desk. It was those stress-free days she was looking forward to.

'I'm Charlotte Cadunt, 1st year Hufflepuff. And you are?'
Sylvie opened her eyes and turned to face the girl. She returned the girl's smile and shook her hand. "I'm Sylvie Maple. I'm a first year and I'm in Slytherin. Nice to meet you!" She said in a friendly tone.
The other girl lifted up her skirt and walked further into the water. Sylvie followed her to the point where she had most of her legs submerged, but not far enough that her shorts got wet. Charlotte talked about the summer camp and asked if Sylvie was going. "Oh yeah, I heard about that camp thing. I'm not going this year. My sister would probably be upset if I wasn't at the train station on June 1st and instead went to a camp. It sounds fun though, so maybe next year!!" She looked out into the water, thinking, "I kind of wish I could go swim in the lake... Oh well..." She reached into the water, cupped some in her hand, and splashed it in her face.
Sylvie missed her sister, she missed her all year, but Hogwarts felt like the home she never had. She had a home and a family but it was mainly just her sister and her. At Hogwarts, there were many more people, which made her much happier. She hoped almost every day that somehow, someway, Crystal could join her there. Sylvie knew deep in her heart though, that her sister would never get to go to Hogwarts.

OOC: So, so sorry for the late response!
Charlotte chuckled as she watched Sylvie splash water on her face, hesitating deeply to do the same.
'Oh well'
she sighed as she took a step deeper in the lake, not even bothering to lift her skirt, feeling the cool water brush against it.
She pinched her nose and took a deep breath before disappearing under the water's surface, jumping back up a few moments later. The water was glimmering in the sun light and reflected on Charlotte's dark hair. Being so very happy, her Veela characteristics would tend to show: glowing skin, glinting eyes, her hair brushed out of her face gently, but she tried her best to hide it by staying in the sun, where her skin would naturally glow.
'Oh wow, the water is a little -- a little colder than expected'
she mumbled, hugging herself as she laughed.
She submerged herself to shoulder level, brushing her hair out of her face as she looked at Sylvie with a daring grin. Of course, they wouldn't go farther than that, but still, they were fully clothed in water. She faced the Castle once more, taking a few steps accompanied with some arm movements. They were rather from the castle and hidden by the big, twisted trees. No one could possibly see them, and that reassured Charlotte quite a bit. The clouds seemed to become rather dark and a cold breeze passed through the thick branches, as a shiver took over her.
Looking in the distance, she bit her lip and looked down at herself. It was gonna rain and she was already soaking wet, she was surely going to be very cold…
She got up, and walked out dodging the slippery and sharp as best as she could, reaching shore rather unstably. The big clouds slowly moved in their direction and didn't seem to be stopping any time soon.

Sylvie blinked quickly, getting the water out of her eyes, and looked over to Charlotte. As she turned she barely caught a glimps of the girl as she dove under the water. She quickly popped back up, now drenched in water. Sylvie giggled as Charlotte smirked at her. "I like the way you think," She took a deep breath, and fell backwards into the cool water, letting it envelop her whole body. The silence made Sylvie feel calm. After a few seconds she stood up again, water dripping off her hair making small ripples in the water. Now that she was covered in water from the lake, the wind didn't feel as pleasent. Every breeze sent shivers down her spine. She went closer towards the edge of the lake where she could sit in the lake with her head just above the water."Oh well"
Sylvie noticed that Charlottes skin seemed to glow in the sunlight. It seemed normal at first, but as the girl frowned a bit more the glow seemed to fade. Maybe it was just the clouds closing in, or maybe it was something else...
Sylvie made her way to the shore just like Charlotte did. The sun was seemed to have gone and was replace with even more clouds, except the clouds weren't the fluffy white ones like before. Now they were a grayish color. She was shivering from head to toe and quickly reached into her messenger bag for an extra jacket that she always carried around. Luckily for her, it was still there, even if it barely helped. At least it was something. While she tried to slip on her sandals with her shaking arms, she turned to Charlotte. "Some hot chocolate sounds really good right about now." After a while she finally got her sandals on her feet and looked around for a place where sunlight peeked through the clouds.

The clouds got darker and closer by the minute, as Charlotte anticipated the rain to fall at any given moment. Just as she was looking at the clouds and the castle in the distance, Sylvie finished putting on her sandals before saying.
"Some hot chocolate sounds really good right about now."
Charlotte chuckled as she looked at Sylvie. She was a very pretty girl, her light blond hair falling down to her hips in a graceful manner, freckles sprinkled on her face, her piercing green eyes looking right into your soul. Perhaps Charlotte was dramatising everything, but with this look, she felt like she could never lie to this girl (even though she never lied). Her company was warm and enjoyable and the girls headed back to the castle chatting. They talked about everqything, an nothing at the same time and Charlotte was happy to finally meet a Slytherin that wasn't pulling pranks on her, or being too malicious. Even though the girls had met barely a few minutes ago, talking to Sylvie felt like talking to a life-long friend. Sure, they couldn't share any memories, relive moments together, but Charlotte felt like the two girls could go on and be great friends. How was it that in this magical school, she was able to make more friends than she had made over a decade in muggle school.
Only half the distance they had already walked was left for them to get to the castle, and Charlotte starting craving the promised hot chocolate. Just as she was answering to Ruby, a heavy rain started falling on the already drenched girls. Without taking time to think, Charlotte grabbed her wand and pointed it heavenwards as she said under her breath.
'Pluvia Velo'
The rain above them just looked like it was hitting an invisible umbrella, all the water drops grouping to form little streams of water before sliding off the umbrella and hitting the ground, splashing the girls legs. Laughing and talking, they made their way to the castle.

Sylvie felt great happiness as she talked to Charlotte. She enjoyed talking to people, getting energy from being around others. She had this goofy smile on her face and a bit of a skip to her step as the girls walked arcoss the grounds. Eventually, the grey clouds had caught up to them and it started to rain. Sylvie only felt the rain on her face and hands for only a few secounds before she heard Charlotte cast 'Pluvla Velo', the Umbrella Charm. The feeling of the water droplets immediaty stopped. When she looked above them, what seemed like a force field protected the two of them from the droplets, now falling even harder.
Sylvie smiled at Charlotte appreciatively. She seemed nice and it felt like only secounds before they had made it inside the castle. As they say, time flys by when you're having fun. Sylvie shook her head to get the few raindrops that had landed on her off, but it didn't help much. When they had gotten inside she continued to aggresively shiver. She did not like being chilly and got cold easily, even when wearing jackets or heavy clothing. Her teeth chattered, and she turned to Charlotte. "S-so where d-do you t-think we s-should try to find some h-hot c-chocolate?"
