Snow Angel
January 25th
Winter holidays were fast approaching, and Angellica had been excited to get back home. Christmas and New Years were lavish events with her family, and she would have an amazing report card to hand over, of that she was certain. Though she had had a few set backs grade wise, she was certain that she would gain approval at the table over turkey and peas among a number of typical dishes served alongside wizardcrackers. Even her father seemed lighter over the holidays, which was saying something given how hard he'd always been to please.
Though she hadn't really wanted to go out into the snow, there was something about the thick flakes she'd watched fall out the windows of Ravenclaw Tower that had beckoned her out. Tucked in her winter cloaks and a knit hat she had been gifted by a friend, she had made her way down to the grounds. With all the studying she had been doing, she had nearly forgotten to be a kid, and now that she watched students laugh and scream in delight, she felt like perhaps she should have spent more time making friends than she had excelling in her school work. Sure, she wanted those prestigious Os, but she also didn't want to be a loner. Looking around she hoped to find a friendly face, someone that she could make her way to and be like all the other students around.

Snow Angel
Lamik Fillestar sat under one of the many trees littering the grounds, looking up at the sky wih bright blue eyes and an extremely pleased smile. He had always loved the snow- the beautiful white sheet that covered the world gave his already magical surroundings a far more magical feeling and the cold that froze the tip of his nose and eyes may have been uncomfortable at times, but it was always a welcome change in the weather. Now, under the leafless branches of the tree behind him, Lamik wondered how life would be like once everything went back to normal: his mum and dad, his sister, his muggle friends. A strange mix of excitement and nervousness overtook him for a few moments before slowly dying down to simple anticipation.
As he kept looking up at the sky, leaning on his elbows for support, Lamik wondered what his parents would think of you at that moment. He already knew that academically and socially they would be very proud, but what he didn't know was how annoyed they would get about his clothing. Unlike many of the children outside, Lamik was rather lacking in the insulation department. He wasn't wearing any gloves or cap, and whole he did wear a coat over a simple black shirt, the zipper wasn't closed and the buttons weren't buttoned. He was cold, sure, but Lamik found it a lot more comfortable then being all bundled up in a foot of wool and waterproof nylon.

Snow Angel
The glisten of sunlight against the blanket of snow created a glitter effect that was beyond beautiful. Here and there, she could see entire expanses of it untouched by the steps of her peers. Untouched. Unbridled. Wild. Nature was a force to be reckoned with, one to that could instill awe, and the grounds definitely had that effect on the young Ravenclaw at times. This was one of those, the chill getting deep into her bone. She hoped there'd be a warm cup of butterbeer in the Great Hall to warm up with, or perhaps some hot chocolate. Either way, she planned to make her time out there worth while.
A few tracks could be seen , and she followed a few with her gaze. When silver hues found a boy under a tree, she watched him a spell. He seemed to be enjoying himself, enough lost in thought, but then she noted his attire. Blinking two three times, she approached him without quite thinking things through.
"Aren't you...cold?"
The question was obvious, and she was glad in that moment she wasn't flashing her Ravenclaw pride off the top of the roof. No her cloaks were simple, black, well trimmed and smart. Her boots were fluffed with some fur or another, and the hat seemed perhaps the most outlandish part of her attire. Not quite fitting what her parents wanted her to appear as.

Snow Angel
Though Lamik didn't immediately turn his head towards the girl who had spoken to him, he did answer after a few moments of thought. "Well ya- Of course I'm cold. It's snowing." Many people might have expected Lamik to elaborate on why or at least encourage the fact that his clothing was the reason for it, but the thought never crossed his mind. Instead, the boy's attention was momentarily drawn to a snowflake that landed on his nose, almost immediately melting but still earning a near accusatory look at the sky from him. A couple of seconds later, his thoughts focused once more on the person who had approached him, Lamik turned to face the direction from which the voice came from.
"Aren't you cold?" Lamik asked, blowing a strand of hair from his face. Looking the blond girl up and down and putting to the test his detective skills, Lamik came to the conclusion that he had no idea who she was. This didn't really matter much, of course: All that it changed was the fact that he would have to introduce himself, but Lamik was never against the idea of making new friends. Quite the opposite, actually- being extremely social, Lamik actively sought out strangers who seemed nice.

As he looked at her, that droplet of water on his nose that had been a snowflake only moments prior, she blinked. Where she'd felt immediately bad for asking the obvious, she was faced with a similar question and she found herself stumbling for words for all of three seconds. Mouth opening and closing she somewhat considered her next words, though not quite as thoroughly.
"Of course I'm cold," she responded but even that wasn't quite accurate. "But not as much as I'd feel if I were out here with my winter cloaks" she added to her statement. Truth be told, only parts of her were cold. The rose in her cheeks from the whip of the cold, extending to the tip of her nose. Her knees were definitely feeling the chill, but that was the price of a uniform that included a freaking skirt. She truly should have ignored her mother about the pants, a lesson she would learn the following year.
It seemed rude to be hovering over this young boy without so much as an introduction. With a sigh, she recalibrated her mind. "I wasn't trying to be rude," she tried to save face. "I'm Angellica," she introduced herself.

Lamik smiled at the girl. "Well if we're both cold there really isn't much of an issue, is there?" Patting the white ground beside him, Lamik gestured for her to sit down. "It's nice to meet you, Angelica. I'm Lamik. Lamik Fillestar." As he studied the girl, Lamik noticed a few things. She seemed slightly confused, flustered maybe, though he had no idea why as in his mind nothing strange had occured during their introduction. Second, she was wearing a REALLY fancy dress-coat looking thing that probably cost a ton. Finally, he noticed that her cheeks were red. He didn't know why, but Lamik always found that specific side effect of the cold to be somewhat funny.
"Where did you get that outfit?" He asked. His tone lacked any sort of judgment, and it was obvious that he didn't dislike it. The question just seemed like a good place to start talking, though Lamik was genuinely curious about it too. He wondered if he could buy his little sister one- it would have to be a smaller size though, unless Lamik wanted her to walk around looking like a ghost. Hopefully he would have enough money to buy her something nice.
