Emmeline is a bit of a wallflower. She's always been very shy and reserved in front of new people. Although, it's unclear why as she has such a big and zany family, who are the only people she shows her true colors around. She can be very lively and talkative, but unfortunately the confidence just isn't there. So Emmeline blends in.

She has a talent in braiding and herbology, as she grew up helping her mother in her magical garden. She also has a soft spot for animals, as she loves taking care of things. Whether it's plants, animals or people.

Emmeline grew up in a small town, with a muggle dad and a mom who's a witch.

Her father, Thomas, became infatuated with her mother after meeting her at a muggle bar. The connection was instant and it was love at first sight. When Philippa told Thomas she was a witch, he at first thought it was some crazy prank, but has since been accepting.
He loves magic and is very fascinated with it, and was probably more stoked about Emmeline receiving her Hogwarts letter than her mother.

Even when Emmeline made her baby bottle float as a toddler for the first time, he immediately pulled out the muggle camera and was so excited for Philippa to see. She, however just complained about how much more mess her daughter was going to produce now.

The Thistle family is very big and diverse, therefore respect and acceptance plays a big role in their household.

With her grandmother being a Hufflepuff, her grandfather a Ravenclaw, and her mother a Gryffindor, houses and sorting has never played a big role.
„It would be boring if everyone were the exact same! We'd be sitting at a table of doppelgänger's!" Is a statement often heard in her grandparents house.

Emmeline's always loved going there and joking around with her cousins, and getting life lessons from her grandpa. It's always big dinners for the entire family, sitting there for hours just laughing and talking. They're even accepting of her muggle father, and he loves coming there just as much as Emmeline does.


As Emmeline is an only child, she never really had many friends except for her abundances of cousins. She went to a muggle school for the first years of her life, and was bullied for being weird. She never truly fit in with the other muggle kids, which makes sense. She had a few friends, but nothing lasting or meaningful. This has led her to only trust family, and she is extremely wary when it comes to other kids her age.

She grew up helping her mother around her garden and has therefore developed a soft spot for herbology. It reminds her of her home and her family, and it's just a hobby she really enjoys.
