Don't look in the broken mirror
Private with @Holly Frost , please don't intervene but feel free to read!
Charlotte had heard many rather unsettling rumours about this place, but had never ventured this far. The endless-looking corridor itself wasn't very reassuring. It was dim lit, and no sunlight seemed to be reaching it.
The stone that paved the floor and the walls made the slightest sound resonate and for some reason, Charlotte felt as if she were to be quiet here. Was she allowed here? At least nothing forbade it, she thought.
She reached the door, hesitating to open it as she looked around. After all, now that she was here, why not go in? She put her hand on the door where the handle ought to be, bust must've fallen.
Charlotte pushed the door, surprised of the heaviness of it, putting her shoulder against it to give a bit more pressure. Suddenly, the door's weight seemed to have vanished and Charlotte stumbled forward, dodging the wall.
Why was she here? Alone? Charlotte didn't quite know why, but this type of solitude wasn't what she needed right now. She glanced around the room, afraid to see some kind of shadow lurking behind the toilets. The windows were high up, letting a few shy sun-rays in. The room had an eerie feeling to it and the silence was deafening, interrupted by the occasional water dripping from the faucet.
Most of the mirrors were stained, some of them even cracked in the corners. Charlotte stood there, in the middle feeling more and more uneasy. She tried to calm herself down as she tucked her hair nervously behind her ear and bit her lip, before collapsing. She had looked for places where she could deal with her emotions, places she was sure she wasn't going to be interrupted.
This is not the moment for this right now... Everything is fine, we're just having a look at the castle. Everything is fine. Everything is-
At this very moment, she felt her emotions get the better of her, her heart in her throat. She was always smiling and seemed so happy, but today was not one of those days. She had been scolded off unjustly in front of the class, leaving her to feel embarrassed. It might seem like nothing, but in moments like this every sad and angering thoughts resurfaced. She felt lonely here, without her family where she always felt safe around. Everything was so new, she had no best friend to talk to, no one to share the everyday struggles. She felt melancholic. She felt a tear roll down her cheek as she stared blankly in the broken mirror.
Holly was supposed to meet her there in a few minutes, so Charlotte stood up, wiping off her tears and putting on a smile as she waited, leaning on the sink.

Don't look in the broken mirror
Holly just strolls in through the open door and looks around her, she opens a tap and nothing comes out, she did a fair bit of urban exploration and was used to abandoned places, she looked right into the mirror and sees her own reflection staring lifelessly back at her, she shows a little smile as she finally spots Charlotte's back facing her, as she was at the sink. Holly sees that Charlotte's hair was tucked behind her ears, reading by the slight tremble on Charlotte's fingers. It was apparent that Charlotte might be grossed out and creeped out by the abandoned toilet, Holly's caring side flooded her mischievous side, completely wiping the idea of scaring Charlotte for fun from her mind.
"Well it's probably not that bad... I'll try and comfort her."
Holly thought to herself as she walks around Charlotte in front of her, deciding not to approach from behind, to not scare her.
"Hey there... y-you okay Charlotte?"
The moment Holly sees her effort to keep a smile on her face, probably just for Holly to not worry warmed her heart, but it was that subtle detail, Charlotte's slightly damp palm that gave it away, she was obviously terrified. Holly widens her eyes a little bit realizing that she was a bit too late, she should've been here for Charlotte when she had her emotional breakdown.
"oh no."
Holly thinks to herself, and she does what her mother would do to her when she gets traumatized from things like big hairy spiders, caterpillars, moths and even butterflies. Holly hugs Charlotte and pats her in the back.
"It's gonna be okay... there's nothing that can hurt you. Nobody's here. Do you want to get out of here? I understand if you do... Everybody has their fears, maybe silence and darkness is yours... See, I-I'm scared of all kinds of bugs, e-even butterflies and bees. It's fine to be scared, Charlotte."
Holly fears that she doesn't have what it takes to calm another student down from a emotional spike, she has only been the recipient of hugs and kisses from her mother, but Holly would do anything for her newfound friend.
"I-If there's anything bothering you... don't worry, y-you can let it out. I wont tell. I promise."

Don't look in the broken mirror
Charlotte found Holly's gesture so amazingly nice she can't help but return the hug. She wasn't really used to someone hugging as she was most of the time the person offering them. This felt nice, she felt safe. A few tears filled her eyes but she looked up, trying to make them go away. She felt a warm, happy feeling taking over her, and all of a sudden the toilets didn't seem that intimidating or scary. She let go of the hug as she wiped her eyes with her sleeves, laughing a little.
'Thanks a lot Holly. It - It means a lot to me. Really.' she said looking down, a sad smile on her face.
She took a deep breath and looked at Holly. She felt bad for ruining this exploration with one of her emotional breakdowns. She shook her head, trying not to think of anything. It was sweet of Holly to comfort her even though she must've not known what to do. Charlotte hugs people in moment like this because she's at a complete loss of words, but Holly really lifted her spirits.
'So, where we we huh?' she asked timidly walking towards another sink.
She looked around the room once more, but surprisingly, it didn't have much of an eerie feeling anymore, much to her relief. The sun seemed to shine brighter. She slid her finger on the side of the faucet and noticed a slight bump.
'Hey, come check this out Holly... You don't think it's-' but she was interrupted when she a heard a voice, a splash and then, once again, the defining silence.
'What was that?' she exclaimed, looking at Holly, her eyebrows raised and her eyes wide open.

"Wh-what was what?" Holly looked confused and thought that Charlotte was seeing things from being so sad... until she relizes the high pitched screams were not from Charlotte. Startled, Holly staggers backwards, and slowly and cautiously backs off into the corner.
"H-Hi there.. whoever you are... Um... are you fine? I know this place might be a little creepy but... there is nothing to fear here... C'mon, calm down... its just a toilet..."
Holly tried her best to sound brave and calm but her voice was obviously way highter in pitch and really shaky, Holly was sure that her lips were trembling, her hands became stone cold and her fece became dead pale, she was scared, as this place has been ditched for decades, but for what reason? Holly doesnt know. Who is in here with them? Or what is? Is it a monster? Or a phantom? Thoughts of death and dread reach holly for the first time, she doesnt scream or cry, instead, a sense of fear mixed with acceptance flowed through Holly, she just silently holds Charlotte's hand to calm herself, and she clears her mind, taking a deep, shivery breath and returning to a slight smile.
"Heheh... we must be hearing things... its n-no big deal."
Holly whispers to Charlotte, horrified herself.
It felt like she was frozen in place, and she could barely move.

Don't look in the broken mirror
Charlotte stood there, next to Holly as they both looked towards the toilets, to try and see where the noise came from. She knew quite well this was not just a fragment of her imagination. Was there some kind of ghost in here, who took pleasure out of frightening students.
The silence quickly settled back and Charlotte let out a sigh of relief. Whatever it was, it was now evidently gone, and both the girls could explore these abandoned toilet peacefully. Or so she thought.
Shaking slightly, Charlotte walked cautiously and quietly towards the door, pushing it slowly with the tip of her fingers. She tilted her head to see behind the door and let out a large gasp. The door was wide open, enabling Holly to see from where she was.
Everything happened so quickly. Charlotte saw, sitting on the toilet, her head on her knees a young girl. Not just any girl. She was... pale. No, she was colourless and translucent. She froze where she was, only a few centimeters from the girls face. She could feel the air around her being ice-cold. A fraction of a second later, the girl rose into the air and plunged, head first in the toilets in a big splash.
Charlotte turned around, her eyes wide open, covered in water. She let out a sigh, annoyed as she wiped her face.
'Well. That was... fun.' she said as she smiled slowly.
At least the ghost was gone, but it could definitely pop up at any moment from anywhere. She walked towards the toilet and saw that most of the locks were missing, except for one.
She got closer to it and saw it was crooked.
'Better not lock yourself in this one... Don't know if you could get out easily' she said, laughing.

Don't look in the broken mirror
Holly just looks at the ghost wide eyed for a moment and calms down.
"Oh, great, we aren't getting murdered today, that's good to know... its just a ghost... of a Ravenclaw schoolgirl?"
Holly jokes, as a shiver crawls down her spine. Ghosts can't harm people but then why was it a schoolgirl? Why Ravenclaw? Her smile fades a bit as she touches the eagle patch on her chest. Then the mood lightens again as Holly holds laughter back, smiling awkwardly, seeing Charlotte covered in water. She tries her bast to swallow the laughter as tears come out of her eyes, she asks with a smile.
"O-oh dear Charlotte... D-Do you need me to lend you a spare robe or something?"
Holly puts on the most concerned look she can manage but still fails to hide her slightly reddened face and the smile, there was nothing that can change the fact that Holly finds these moments hilarious, even when it happens to the nicest student she's met so far... Holly felt terrible for laughing at Charlotte, but couldn't help it.
Holly looks at Charotte's hair
"Well at least you're not going to have a hard time drying that hair..."
Holly was referring to Charlotte's gorgeous hair which was only shoulder's length.
Holly then walks into the stall with a lock, trying to turn the mechanism, it was jammed, and impossible to operate, Holly, being alerted, instantly jumps out of the stall, she didn't want to be the second victim in this toilet of doom.
"Woah! you're right."
Holly responds with a laugh as she bolts out.

Don't look in the broken mirror
'I guess it'll dry quickly' she laughs as she wrings her robes, trying to get as much water out as she can. 'Ugh, toilet water. That's really - really nasty' moving her hands as far as possible from her disgusted face, watching the water drip down on the floor.
Charlotte chuckles lightly when she sees Holly jumping out of the stall, as she walks across the gloomy and depressing room. Most of the stalls' door were discoloured, one of them were dangling from its hinges, occasionally creaking. Charlotte almost felt like she was trapped in a horror movie, and didn't find that very pleasant.
'Was it really a Ravenclaw schoolgirl?!' she sais as her smile slowly turns into shock. 'You don't think it's got something to do with... You know, the Chamber of Secrets?' looking Holly in the eye.
The idea of this made Charlotte shiver, wondering what could've happened to that poor girl. Could they find something about her in a book? She strongly doubted that. Maybe Holly had heard rumours that could help them figure out how this mysterious ghost was.
Some of the sinks were missing a faucet, adding to the oppressing feeling this room gave her.
'Found anything, Holly?' she exclaims loud enough for her friend to hear her from across the room.
Charlotte stops midway, hearing a tapping sound from within one of the stalls. She turns around, heading towards the noise that grew louder and louder as she approaches. Once inside, Charlottes bends towards the left side of the toilet where the sound was originating from. At this very moment, the ghost bursts out of the toilet only to dive back in again.
'OH COME ON!' she yells, annoyed and covered once more in water. She turns around to exit the toilet only to find that the door was stuck. Awesome ! She tugs and pulls on it, desperately to open it only making the door make a tiny, almost inaudible creak. She hits it with her foot, as she sighs, annoyed to see that the door didn't even budge.
'Ugh... Come - on' she whispers, pulling the door, one foot on the stall's wall.
'Uh, Holly... I'm kinda - I'm kinda stuck here. Yeah, definitely stuck...' before adding 'I can hear you laugh, Frost' a smile on her face.

Don't look in the broken mirror
Holly looks in the mirror, making sure the ghost wasn't behind them to scare them or pull cheeky pranks on them.
"The chamber of what now?"
Holly did know how to code, how to read people really well, but she's a complete potato when it comes to knowledge about the world of witchcraft and wizardry.
"Secrets you say? What? does it hold-"
Holly was in the middle of making a joke as she hears slamming of the door and Charlotte's voice, along with some splashes. Holly sighs, ghosts... they really do like to pull pranks on people for fun do they?
"Guess cartoon network wasn't lying about ghost being pranksters..."
Holly whispers to herself, referring to her favorite character from her childhood cartoon, Carrie.
"Hang in there, Charlotte, ummm... it's been a long time since i last did this... "
She puts a foot on the door where it's comfortable to step on, and carefully measures each step by backing off to the wall across the room, then wishes that the ghost doesn't think of some smart way to trick her, letting out a little giggle as she thinks of how ridiculous it must be to be covered in toilet water twice in a row, she hears Charlotte's response, and blushes a little.
"Charlotte, you have really, really sharp ears."
with that Holly runs at the door, and jumps where she measured would land that safe spot on the door, she them shifts the momentum to her foot and uses the slight grip of her shoe and also the upwards force from the light kick to grab the top of the door, pulling herself upwards, and pulling one of her legs over the door, then swinging the other over, her feet dangled off the door that she was sitting on, she focuses and slowly moves her way to the corner of the stall, getting a angled seat, so that she doesn't loose balance.
"I've been climbing over fences since i was 8... my mother wasn't a big fan of that..."
Holly smiles at Charlotte, extending her right hand to Charlotte and holding the edge with her left hand.
"H-Hold on tight... I'm not sure if this is going to work..."
Holly sounded a little bit nervous.
"i need you to sort of walk up the wall with your feet once i drop off, okay?"

Don't look in the broken mirror
Charlotte waited behind the door, hearing Holly climbing up the door. A few seconds later, she appeared right above the door, a hand held out for Charlotte to grab. She took her hand, not really knowing what to do.
'I need you to sort of walk up the wall with your feet once I drop off, okay?'
'Uh, sure.' she said, frowning as she held onto Holly's hand. Struggling, she put her left foot on the door, followed by her right foot. She caught the top of the door, nearly missing it and passed her left leg over, her right. As she sat on top of the door, she admired the bathroom for a second before landing on her feet.
Soaking wet, she nearly slipped each time her foot touched the ground.
'It's not funny !' she said jokingly, looking at Holly. Now that was going to take quite some time to dry. She took off her robes, hanging them on the stall's door and squeezed the water out of her skirt. Why did this happen to her twice? She looked at Holly who had a hard time keeping a straight face and started laughing. It felt good to laugh a bit, one of those laughs that hurts your stomach, one of laughs you just can't seem to stop.
Once she was calm once more, she took a deep breath. She had read a little about the Chamber of secrets, but hadn't managed to find much about this topic.
'I'm not quite sure what the Chamber of Secrets actually is. I don't really know if it's an urban legend or not.' she said shrugging slightly.
'It's said that a monster lived within Hogwarts, a blood-thirsty monster. Apparently, these toilets were the entrance to it. That's why I thought that the Ravenclaw schoolgirl you saw must've had some kind of link to it all.'
She wasn't surprised that Holly hadn't heard of it, after all it wasn't something you could learn in class or most of the books.
'Well that was one hell of an adventure, huh?'
She really enjoyed Holly's company. It made her feel somewhat safe and cheerful, and this was one of the moments she was going to cherish.

"Yep, one hell of an adventure that i would cherish but not miss at all."
Holly was still a bit worried about the ghost girl appearing again... She probably died in Hogwarts to be wearing this uniform, even when she's a ghost, either that, or she just really likes being young. Holly thought.
"O-oh, a monster? Is it dead or something? i really don't want to have that thing coming out and chomping my head off... C'mon, Char, let's get you a dry robe."
Holly giggles a little as she takes a look at the soaked Charlotte.
"I guess that's the last time we'll ever come here."
she recalls the ghost and how sad emotions took over Charlotte here, and how grim it must be if they were messing around in a murder scene, Holly saw the ghost, she was wearing a slightly different type of robe, maybe she's from a long time ago, and there is no evidence of anything lying around that might involve a murder, so the best bet is to assume that the monster from the chamber of secrets killed whoever that was.
Holly touches the broken mirror once again, taking in the location and the creepiness of this abandoned room. And turns to Charlotte with a genuine smile, Holly appreciated Charlotte's company, as she was actually horrified by the ghost girl.
"Being in close proximity of that ghost there, it was really brave of you Charlotte, i would've just froze and died from a heart attack. Thank you for being here with me."
