Willow walked up the road on Diagon Alley, looking at the note her friend had written her. In messy writing, it read; Magical Menagerie is at North Side, Diagon Alley, Charing Cross Road, London. It's run by an old, smiley couple with white hair. She folded up the note, and looked at the sign above her. "Aha, Found it." She muttered. The sign sh owed that it was Magical Menagerie. She opened the doors and stepped in. It was warm, which was more than she could say for outside.There wasn’t much room inside. Every inch of wall was hidden by cages. It was smelly and very noisy because the occupants of these cages were all squeaking, squawking, jabbering or hissing. She looked out of the window, into the practically empty street. The Magical Menagerie was a small magical-creature shop in North Side, Diagon Alley , across the street from Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour. She looked closer at the inside of the shop, not wanting to think about ice cream, or anything else cold for that matter.

There were loads of cages of pets on display. It was very cramped, noisy and smelly with every inch of wall covered by cages. It sold all kinds of animals — Streelers, Fire Crabs, sleek black rats that are very intelligent, owls, ravens, cats of every colour, Puffskeins, Transforming rabbits and many, many more rare oddities. A pair of enormous purple toads sat gulping wetly and feasting on dead blowflies. A gigantic tortoise with a jewel-encrusted shell was glittering near the window. Poisonous orange snails were oozing slowly up the side of their glass tank, and a fat white rabbit kept changing into a silk top hat and back again with a loud popping noise. Then there were cats of every colour, a noisy cage of ravens, a basket of funny custard-coloured furballs that were humming loudly, and, on the counter, a vast cage of sleek black rats which were playing some sort of skipping game using their long bald tails. Shhe decided she would make a list of animals she could see. She muttered along as she wrote, "Puffskein, Lacewing flies, Fire crab, Kneazle, Baby Nifflers, Baby pygmy puffs, Streelers, Rats, Skipping black rats, Ravens, A transforming rabbit, Owls, A Double-ended newt, Giant Purple Toads, Giant Purple Toad warts (1 Galleon each) , Common Toad (5 Galleons), Crested Toad (9 Galleons), Harlequin Toad (9 Galleons), Western Green Toad (9 Galleons), Natterjack Toad (5 Galleons),Black (9 Galleons),Ginger (9 Galleons), " When suddenly, she heard an old lady shuffle up to the counter, white hair. "Hello dearie, do you need something?" She thought for a moment. "Grey Mackerel Tabby, please." The old woman nodded and walked to a cage. She took out a large, grey tabby, with swirling patterns. "She's perfect." I smile, and give her the money. I left into the cold winter's day with a warm friend beside me. I walk from the door, the cat on my shoulder, and say, " Let's go, crookshanks. "
