Not to Brag
January 16th![]()
Grades had been posted, and so far, nearly every single piece of homework the blonde had turned in had been an O. Perhaps it hadn't offered her much time for friends, but who had time for friends when there was so much to learn? Success was the only friend she truly needed, and without anyone to actually brag about to quite yet, she was happy to tell just about anyone who cared to listen.
Leaning against the wall, she spoke openly about how smart she was, and just how many points she was winning for Ravenclaw alone. Some might have bragged to be on the quidditch team, but being a beater wasn't half as much a source of pride as academic success was. There never seemed to be any obstacles in Angellica's life, just wins, and never having had to actually lose, she couldn't quite take a quiet victory.
"I mean I got a couple Exceeding Expectations at first, but that was mainly because I was learning how things go, now?" There was a slight laugh to her tone that filled the corridor. "Straight Os. I mean, it's not like I don't work for it, but it comes easy you know?"
A few other first years watched in awe, and she basked in the attention it offered. This felt better than any Quidditch victory, not that she disliked those. Winning was winning, and she had every intention of putting her best into any thing, but most especially anything that would expand her capabilities as a witch.
Twirling her hair, she asked others about their grades, watching their report cards against hers, pleased when they weren't nearly as stellar.
