Rest, relaxation, and recuperation are some things many students seek after when retreating to the great lake. Of course, there's other things to do as well, but there's just something about steady water and a gentle mist that fills the space between strangers round bout the Great Lake. Most will find this setting peaceful and fulfilling... Isaiah isn't most people.

The kid storming through the bushing stood at a whopping 142 cms, his basic black robe snagged on twigs riddling the unpathed earth. With an agitated grunt, he'd stop and flip the cloth to the side in an attempt to rid himself of the annoyance. It only took a few more stomps and tantrums before he reached the water's edge, air escaping his nose with furious heat. The water lapped at his shoes, rolling over the white edge and sinking through the cloth exterior. A scrunched nose and furrowed brow, the Auburn haired first year held a yellow and black tie in a fist. He proceeded to yell at the water and at the tie, rambling on about how stupid "this" all is before chucking the cloth into the water.

"And don't come back!! I aint gunna be a brown nosed Idiot!!"

Left panting and scowled, the boy would take a deep breath in attempts of calming down. The silence of the lake was restored. At least for a brief moment before clentching his fist again, annoyed by the sheer reverence of this place. In a burst of anger, he'd turn around and kick a path of pebbles in a random direction.

"GUAH!"

Rest and relaxation. Exactly what the Ravenclaw had come to the Great Lake to do. She had finished up her classes and socialized as much as she could, but she knew that if she did anything more without a break, she'd crumble.
She had been resting for about five minutes, her robe acting as a towel underneath her, her tie not around her neck, but used as a hairbow to put her hair in a ponytail, and her shoes kicked off to the side. She was enveloped in a story that struck interest and curiosity within her every few pages, something she loved about a good book.

But, alas, all good things must come to an end.

As the Hufflepuff stormed down to the shore not too far from her, she dropped her book onto her face in surprise, a muffled squeak resonating from her in turn. She quickly sat up and rubbed the bridge of her nose to stop the pain as she looked for the culprit who shouted with anger. Once she caught sight of just who was causing such a ruckus, she watched him like he was a loon for quite some time before hurriedly getting to her feet.
Slipping her shoes back on to keep her knee-high socks from getting wet, she brushed off any dirt that could have gotten on her skirt and swiftly made her way to his side. She opted to not place a hand on his shoulder during his breakdown, that could lead to him lashing out, and her getting a bruise on the cheek. She's learned not to do that after a little incident that happened a year or two ago.

"Excuse me?" She clasped her hands together in front of her and shifted her weight from foot to foot. "You're disturbing the fish and, well, me. Whatever could have made you this angry? Did you fail a class or something..?"

The tieless Hufflepuff hadn’t noticed the reading girl in his fury of anger. In fact, he hadn’t seen anyone due to the fact she was hidden by her ground-level positioning. Having not even the slightest bit of warning before the girl first stood up, it was a little startling, causing him to step a little was back, only now standing fully in the cold lake water. Water began seeping into his shoes causing him to yelp before glaring at the girl.

“No I didn’t fail a stupid class- I’m a very good student you should know! Best one here! I-I got an award and everything today so it couldn’t be that silly- Ravenclaw?”

It took a little time but the boy was able to notice flicks of a blue tie holding her hair in it’s place. It took a little looking to conclude this but he was certain enough.  She seemed snotty enough. After a moment of observation, the flustered kid wiped his reddened nose on his sleeve and folded his arms in an attempt to appear tough and confident. Eye's still somewhat watery and his face flushed from his furious tantrum, it was certainly an attempt.

"I'm actually down here 'cause I can't be bothered with all the other students like praisin' me and stuff"

Almost like one's snitch of a younger brother, the bright yellow and black tie washed between his submerged feet. The water pushed it around and back, wrapping the silk around his ankle.

She furrowed her brow in confusion and tilted her head as he spoke about being praised. She hadn't seen him before, was he popular as in the 'new kid' kind of popular, or could he possibly be lying? Before she could speak, however, she noticed the tie wash up around his ankle, her face softening and a smile pulling at her lips.

"Hufflepuff? I love Hufflepuffs!! One of my great friends is one. Oh, here," She reached out and grabbed his hand, bringing him back on to the shore before bending down to grab the tie. "Can't afford you getting sick, can we?"

She laughed softly before wiping the water off of her hands and onto her skirt, her smile never disappearing as she watched him carefully.

"So, you said you had to get away from people praising you..? You seemed angry, did someone say something embarrassing about you or something like that? If they did, just ignore them, Hogwarts may be a different type of school, but it still has its bullies." She reached out and patted his shoulder before taking a step back to give him his space, her eyes twinkling softly with kindness. She loved meeting new people. "When did you arrive?"

Only once he was out of the water and firmly placed upon the dryer rocks of the shore line did the boy realize how incredibly wet his shoes and socks were. They squished and sloshed uncomfortably the longer he stood. She seemed rather nice all until that stupid name. His nostrils flared and the urge to snatch the tie grew all until the sincerity of her concern.

It’s uncommon for kids to actually believe his tales but lately ones like her have been popping up all over. Is Hogwarts really that full of interesting people?

“I showed up yesterday and well- I- I’m not getting bullied! Why would kids act bad to me when I’m just so integrate!”

Clearly he meant to pose the word intricate instead. A stunning talent for vocabulary indeed. Defiantly no doubt at all he’s top of his class. Unable to watch her flail his tie about he snatched the cloth from her and shoved it in his pocket.

“And for your information, I’m not a hufflepuff! I-I’m a slytherin obviously! This is just my uh friend’s necktie!”

His jumbled words and stiff demeanor was visible disproof of his statements. Between wet feet and weirdly nice girls, the boy didn’t know what to do or say besides stand solidly with a puffed up face.

She had heard his little slip-up when trying to pronounce the word, 'intricate', but she said nothing of it. She never made fun of or mentioned someone's English or grammar - For all she knew, English wasn't their first language. As he rambled on about his lies, she carefully watched his face and noticed a little sign she was used to seeing when others spout out lies to her face. Something she didn't quite like, though since he was new, she'd go easy on him.

"Well... All signs point to you being a Hufflepuff, the yellow stripe on the bottom of your vest and the yellow in your robe proves otherwise, also the fact that the only tie here is.. Well, the one you're holding." She smiled sympathetically and tilted her head a bit, her arms crossed haughtily. "Not to mention the most obvious sign," She paused and put a hand outward, grabbing at the Hufflepuff engraving on the chest of the robe. "You're a Hufflepuff. Why would you be so angry about that?"

She had so many friends in Hufflepuff, they were all glorious people. Sure, they may be the laughing stock of the school, but when the time calls they're one of the meanest and strongest people she has met. So far, there were three people she knew of who were sorted into houses they didn't exactly want to be in. Herself included.

"Look, I wanted to be in Gryffindor, but I was sorted into Ravenclaw. You don't see me complaining, do you? My friend wanted to be a Slytherin, but she was sorted into Gryffindor. She doesn't complain, but her family does. I'll tell you the same thing I told her, it doesn't matter what house you're sorted into. It matters what kind of Wizard you are and who you grow to be." She sighed and 'tsked' softly. "Hufflepuff's are amazing people. I don't see why you got your panties in such a twist over it."

The boy couldn't help but grow in frustration, already to the point of spastic wording and demeanor. Impulsively snapping her hand away from his patch, the bland brown in his eyes glint as he met his glare with hers.  His lower lip quivered rather profusely, sputtered bits of words escaping from a mouth opening and closing like a fish who fluttered about on land. It took a minute or so of turning away and turning back to say something only to try again before gritting his teeth in defeat.

Shoving his hand's into the pockets of his robe, he grumbled and pushed past her making sure to illy bump shoulders on his way. kicking various items as he neared the forest lining, the boy stopped and turned back to her. Anger and confusion riddled his expressions as he spoke with a less theatrical tone than before.

"Why're you being so nice?"

He took a moment to fully turn to her as if regretting his move to leave. The boy wanted more insight to how someone can actually accept being put somewhere they didn't want to be. Not to mention, she clearly didn't believe a word he'd told her but still didn't criticize him for it.

"I don't want to be here okay? Everyone's so... so... I don't know- like really really cool and I'm just so confused how the heck I'm supposed to not like disappear or whatever! Then this thing-"

The boy proceeded to pull the tie out of his pocket and shake it about, water propelling in all direction.

"-is given to me and all of a sudden I'm surrounded by people who don't wanna make a scene or beat the other guys like in anything!"

She watched all the expressions flash across his face as he rudely shoulder-checked her, the force causing her to stumble a bit, but she caught herself the moment before she fell back into the water. With a frown settling upon her face, she regretfully watched the Hufflepuff stomp away, though it was when he turned around that she was truly shocked. "Why're you being so nice?". The question ran through her head like a mantra, sympathy and sadness welling in her heart as she thought why on Earth he would have to even ask a question such as that.

She let her arms slowly fall to her sides as she smiled sadly, carefully approaching him as to not agitate him any further. Once she was face-to-face with him, she clasped her hands around the tie and looked him in the eyes. She listened to him rant about not wanting to be at the school, about the people, about the Houses. She understood, she was scared at first too, she wanted to go home back to her mother. But as time passed, she met people, and they made her happy.

"Hey, hey.. It's okay, calm down..." She removed one hand from the tie and carefully placed it on Isaiah's shoulder. "I know why you're upset, I do. Believe me. But, you don't need to be this angry. You may have wanted a different House, I get that, but you don't NEED to be in a certain house to prove who you are."

She released him and the tie and took one step back to give him his space.

"Hufflepuff's may seem like they don't want to cause a scene, but if need be, they will fight for what they believe in. I see that in you already, you already fight for what you believe in. You may act all tough and put on the face of a Slytherin, but you have the warm heart of a Hufflepuff. Correct me if I'm wrong, but all you need here is a friend to pull you through the mess, right? I can be that friend. That is... If you let me." She held a hand out to him and smiled brightly, her eyes lighting up like stars. "So what do you say? Friends?"

Sanmiitai smiled as she walked outside, she enjoyed her classes. She stopped smiling when she noticed that two people seemed to be arguing. She was sad that they argued. She took off her green bracelets. They are too uncomfortable. She says to herself. She glances back at the two and frowns. She debates on wether or not she should go over and maybe get involved in the arguing or if she should stay here and avoid it. They look like they need help, she smiles when she walks over. "Hello, I noticed that you two were arguing and I was wondering if you needed  a little bit of help?" She says politely. I really don't want them to start physically hurting eachother, that would be extremely bad. She thinks to herself. She looks back at them while they ignore her and smiles again through gritted teeth. "Hello. I was wondering if you needed a little bit of help?" She smiles weakly. She questions why she should have came to help them. Just because I'm slytherin doesn't mean I cannot be nice. She thinks and smiles and stares at them. Then she grits her teeth, "I came here to help and you are only ignoring me."
