A Miscalculation or two.
@River Dewlight
The day had started quite normally, but maybe in the end she should've known it would end this way. Her quick steps as she ran after the remembrall rolling through the corridors caused students to quickly step out the way, as the young hufflepuff called out apologizes. She hadn't meant to drop it, an older Gryffindor student had bumped into her; causing the small orb filled with red to fall from her grip and go on a rolling adventure through the long corridors- you'd think it had legs with how far it was currently moving. Her hand rushed through her hair as she tried to get a good look through the blonde curls falling into her face, and that is when it happened. The absolute worst thing to happen when she finally grabs the blasted thing, she trips.
How the fabric in it's clearly sentient glory ended up under her foot was beyond her; her balance failing her rather quickly as she felt herself suddenly come in contact with another student. Both of them hit the cold stone floor, the Remembrall tightly held in her hand as Primrose felt her other hand get scraped up from the cold floor. Some students around them let out a giggle or a shocked gasp, the Hufflepuff doing her best to scramble herself up to the point where she was sitting; moving her hair out of the way.
''I am so sorry- oh god are you okay?'' Panic and pleading was laced with every word as she looked at the Ravenclaw student before her. This was not what she had planned at all, the quite normal day once more turned into absolute chaos. Primrose had to admit that she did look rather ridiculous, her hair an absolute mess and her uniform quite dirty from the fall, she really wasn't giving Hufflepuff a good name.

A Miscalculation or two.

@Primrose EdwardsYou can’t be serious... River thought to herself, as she rummaged through her supplies. She was getting more and more stressed out with every second that passed.
Half way to class, she’d realized that her potions book was still resting on her bedside table, where she left it last night. After staying up nearly all night studying, she had entirely forgotten to place it back into her burgundy red bag.
This was so not like her, she never forgot things, never. And if she did, it wasn’t something that would effect something as important as school. Would she have time to make her way all the way up to the ravenclaw tower, and down to the dungeons before class started..? probably not. She could be very quick on her small light feet, but not that quick.
She threw the strap of her bag off her shoulder, and dumped it on the ground. Did I remember everything else? She looked thouroughly through every last object, book, quill and ink phial within her well worn bag. Seems like it, she thought relieved. Perhaps someone would have a book to lend her? There is no point in going back upstairs for that one book now, she concluded, and begun packing all her things back down.
As she just put the last book in her bag, she heard a loud clatter from a little away. Curious as to what had caused the sound of chaos, she threw the strap over her shoulder and stood up to have a peak.
Before she had a single chance to know what the fuss was, something hit her. River felt her body fall and loose all balance, only to crash into the har floors beneath her feet. «Ugh!», she exclaimed, as her red hair flew across her face, and blocked her vision.
She could see a couple of her books, had fallen out of her half open bag, and were now laying there on the ground.
''I am so sorry- oh god are you okay?'', River heard a voice speak up in front of her.
She pushed her hair out of her pale face, and looked up at whomever had spoken. A hufflepuff girl it seemed, by the robes with the traditional yellow details.
River quickly sat up, reached for her books and harshly put them into her bag. «Isn’t it possible to watch where you’re going?», she asked darkly, not awaiting a reply. «And yeah, I’m fine», she added, and looked at the girl, with cold eyes and arms crossed over her chest.

A Miscalculation or two.
When she realized she had bumped into one of those people, she felt her soul leave her body on the spot. The question caused her body to cringe with pure guilt as she nervously fiddled with the Remembrall in her hands.@River Dewlight
''In theory, yes? My robes uh- got under my feet.'' She was cursing herself in her head, if someone here had the freak ability to read minds they would understand this Hufflepuff had a wonderful list of rather bad words in her head as she slowly stood up, reaching out her not-injured hand to help the girl. ''I was trying to get this little guy from running away, I'm so sorry'' She raised the Remembrall in the air with a nervous laugh.
Primrose was fidgeting on the spot, her eyes darting from side to side of the corridor as she sent a rather foul look to a Gryffindor boy who sent a chuckle her way- this had quickly become the norm at Hogwarts; the air-headed Hufflepuff girl who tripped all the time on absolutely nothing and got herself in trouble. She had already heard her cousin refer to her as 'the boulder' to his friends when she passed yesterday and getting Ravenclaw to hate her was not a goal of hers. ''I hope I didn't damage any of your books? If I did I uh- could..buy new ones?'' She stopped in the middle of her sentence, trying to wrack her head around just how much it actually would cost to replace all the books that had gotten spread across the floor earlier. Man her hand was stinging.

@Primrose EdwardsRiver was anoyed, that was for sure. Did dhe understand the situation of the girl? Yes, quite well actually. She herself had been through many earlier accidents from being relatively clumsy. Still, she couldn't help but want to hex the hufflepuff in front of her. It had been a bad day already, and she truly did not need something else to keep her from getting to her potions class on time. Not that she was that short on time, but River liked being early.
River stood up from the floor, igoring the girls outstretched hand. She made a slight grimace of pain as her shoulder popped back into place. Her joints would dislocate all the time, for no particular reason. And falling never made that any better. "Your robes got under your feet?", River asked the girl, with a slight mocking tone in the back of her voice. Perhaps you should have gotten them a little shorter then?
''I was trying to get this little guy from running away, I'm so sorry'', the girl said, and held up a small glass ball with the hint of red smoke swirling inside. "Right... Well, I mean, I'm fine, really", River answered, and put a small, forced smile on her face, making sure her teeth didn't show. She didn't like smiling with her teeth. "You actually use that thing? I mean they asked us to get them at the beginning of the year, but I don't bother carrying them around", Each to their own I suppose...
River turned around to see some of her books laying spread across the floor. Students were walking back and forth, kicking books left to right. She hastily walked over and begun picking them up, one by one. "Hey watch where you're going jackass!", she called out after a ravenclaw who had just stomped right across her transfiguration textbook. She picked it up and sent the boy a warning look and brushed the book off with the sleeve of her robes.
''I hope I didn't damage any of your books? If I did I uh- could..buy new ones?'' , River could hear the girl talking again, and spun around. "Oh right, ehm, thanks for the offer, but they're fine", She answered quickly, and again, glued a slight smile on her lips. It probably wasn't as convincing as she'd like it to be. River was quite a good liar, but when it came to expressing faked smiles... Well, it was definitely something she struggled with.
She put the last of her books back into her bag, and let out a sigh, trying to keep her calm. Inside she was fuming. There was not a single fibre in her body that wanted to continue the day, she'd rather just head to the library and read something interesting, try to forget that the world exists around her. Still, she cared too much about her grades to do something like that.
She just stood there, sharing a slightly awkward moment, simply looking at the girl in front of her. She didn't really know how to keep conversations too well. "So... what's your name?", she asked. And unlike the smile, she actually mannaged to have a convincing, but not entirely real, undertone of interest in her voice.

A Miscalculation or two.
@River Dewlight
''Alright..no handshake, I guess'' Primrose whispered to herself, looking at her empty hand before returning it to her side- returning to playing with the small red-filled ball once again as she shrugged.
''I forget things easily'' She responded to the question, sending a glare after the same Ravenclaw boy; talk about having to respect for others property. ''This will make me think twice before I leave because, poof! It shows me that something is amiss as I leave my dorm'' She didn't intend for her answer to come out with such glee, as if the simple enchanted item was the best thing to ever happen to her- which quite honestly it sort of was, in it's own way.
She was less excited to see the fake smile on the strangers lips and the discontent with it was apparent in her face as her eyes tried to get a good look of the books, she couldn't see any initial damages. But might as well be sure to send a letter home to her parents just in case she needs to suddenly buy new books for a Ravenclaw..they liked their books, right? Well other than that boy who had no respect for private property.
Her eyes and mind were moving elsewhere as she saw a bird pass by the window, the other girls voice almost being missed as Primrose tried to understand why the corridor windows were so incredibly small. "So... what's your name?" The question caught her off-guard and Primrose was left staring at the girl for a short moment before seemingly jumping slightly, a big grin on her smile. ''Right, my name! Primrose Edwards. Pleasure to meet you- sort of. Again really sorry about that'' She cringed at her own apology, she honestly should start looking where she was running, but she couldn't afford a replacement for this thing anytime soon and her parents were never pleased to be asked for more money than initially given. Or rather her dad didn't enjoy it- her mum was quite alright with handing her money left and right.
''If anything is damaged I'll seriously try to replace it, especially since uh- less than Mr.Pleasant over there decided to step on one of them'' Primrose tried to find the boy to glare at once more and found his bag to shoot daggers at.
''And what is your name?'' She hummed, her tone that of a happy and melodic young girl, as she forcefully shoved the remembrall into her pocket. She'd remember what she forgot later, not right now.

A Miscalculation or two.

@Primrose EdwardsForgetfullness, it was a strange concept, obviously not foreign to River, but still, forgetting things was a rare occurence. «I assume I could probably have needed one of those today»,she said, and scratched the back of her head curiously. It is quite inconvenient that they are shaped like that though.
River turned to see where the boy had gone off to, she could not see him anymore, «If I see him in potions, I’m so not done with him», she said quietly through her gritted teeth. Realizing she’d actually said that out loud, she looked back to the girl and put her book up. «He has definitely been out in the dirt, and now there is a shoeprint on my transfiguration textbook. He stepped over the line... or, on the book I guess», she said angrily, her grey eye turning more and more black.
River was taken quite aback by the girl’s response to her question. How is it possible to express so much... joy..?
«Primrose huh? That’s an interesting name, pretty», River said slowly, as the hufflepuff had introduced herself. The young ravenclaw decided to not mention the weird little apology in her introduction. She definitely wondered how someone could say that much in such a short amount of time though.
''If anything is damaged I'll seriously try to replace it, especially since uh- less than Mr.Pleasant over there decided to step on one of them'', River’s mind had drifted off for a second, trying hard to remember if she had ever seen the ravenclaw boy’s face in potions before. «Huh? Oh, no it’s fine. They’re not that scrappy. I wouldn’t want to lose my notes either», she said thoughtfully. Her books were way to valuable to her, she couldn’t just switch them out.
''And what is your name?'', and there it was. The downside that always came with asking someone what their name was. You are automatically expected to tell them yours afterwards. «I’m River», she said, raising her chin ever so slightly as she said it. Her arms were still crossed over her chest.
Her dark eyes landed on the window, the weather was nice today. Clouded, perhaps on the verge of rain? Maybe I’ll head to the grounds later, after I finish classes. Right, classes! «What class do you have now?, River wondered, and sendt Primrose a more genuine, but still very careful smile.

A Miscalculation or two.
She tried to ignore the rather odd habit of taking notes in ones book, then again- Primrose took notes on her own arm so maybe it wasn't all that odd in the end. After all the books weren't school property, so students were allowed to do anything they wanted with the things; for better or worse she supposed.@River Dewlight
''I’m River'' The name made the cogs turn in her head, trying to find if she had ever heard about this Ravenclaw in particular, after deciding that no- that was not the case this time; she nodded slowly.
''River'' She tested, a smile on her face. Primrose quite liked that name. A lot actually- beautiful and simple. ''That's a really pretty name'' That comment was more for her than poor River, who she had seemingly forgotten for a moment as the name kept going through her name- she thought Primrose was an peculiar name, maybe it wasn't all that odd in the end.
''What class do you have now?''That caused Primrose to short-circuit as she let out an annoyed groan after a longer silent pause; as if she had just realized just what class she had.
''Potions, cursed and blasted potions'' She whined- lost in her own world of despair as she rubbed her face. ''Seriously, This day is awful so far.'' At least she remembered all of her books today, for once. Though what had she forgotten? The thought passed through her mind as she shifted her attention to River.
''And you? Are you cursed with a lecture from Professor Nagal?'' It was her worst subject by far, sure she had been super excited to learn about it all when she started- but now the whole subject was just a mess of her failing over and over with little to no reason why. The professor was actually not that bad, she was just awful at his class..
''This sucks'' She muttered to herself, looking back around the corner just to make sure her books were still there. Eyupp still on that cold bench she had left them on.

River did not know how to respond to Primrose mentioning that her name was pretty. No one ever said things like that to River. She just gave a small smile in return and nodded slightly.@Primrose Edwards
The Hufflepuff didnot seem happy at all about potions being her next class. River could not relate, actually, potions was one of her favourite subjects here at hogwarts. And the Professor, well there was nothing wrong with him. He was cool enough.
''And you? Are you cursed with a lecture from Professor Nagal?'', the girl asked River, and the redhead simply looked at her for a moment before answering. «Well I personally wouldn’t say cursed. I actually like potions, and the Professor too I guess, but yes, I do have potions now» , she said coldly.
Right that stupid book that I just had to forget today... River remembered it, and longed for the textbook to have layed neatly in her bag. But sadly it did not. River’s mind started wandering, trying to find some solution to her book problem. Perhaps I can get Primrose to lend me her book? Or at least share it with me in class today..? she thought, as her slightly manipulative brain started spinning. Guess that means I’ll have to sit with her then... It could have been worse, she concluded, looking at the girl in front of her. She almost shone like a little ray of sunshine or ball of joy, and River did not understand it at all. Usually, River liked spending her classes more on the isolated side. She enjoyed working alone, and not hung up with people all the time.
«I mean, since we’re both heading to potions, perhaps we could sit together?, the young ravenclaw asked, again, pushing on a not entirely real smile, but still convincing enough hopefully.
ReducioI was thinking we could continue this thread in the potions classroom if you’d want to continue RPing?

A Miscalculation or two.
@River DewlightReducioI was given permission by River to sort of godmod their character into the classroom, as this RP will continue in a new thread in the Potions classroom.
''Well I personally wouldn’t say cursed. I actually like potions, and the Professor too I guess, but yes, I do have potions now'''
Primrose nodded, her face lighting up once River mentioned having Potions as well.
''Well- Professor Nagal is okay but, I think I've blown stuff up one time too many..'' She let out a nervous chuckle, god she was awful at this subject.
''I mean, since we’re both heading to potions, perhaps we could sit together?'' Primrose eagerly nodded at the suggestion, gesturing for River to wait as she quickly went to fetch her book- stumbling a little in the process due to a student passing by just as she started running.
''Sorry!'' The book was surprisingly light in her hands for once, someone who understood Potions could most likely help her- right? She wanted to get her grades as high as possible so she could have more possibilities in the future but her clumsy self had a hard time in just flying alone. She returned to her new, friend? with a grin showing up the book as the two of them started walking once more.
''Once again, sorry about your books...'' She muttered, nodding slightly at the professor as they entered.
For once she was actually excited about the class.
