Sylvie O’Niell was never one to hide in her shell. Those who know her could even argue the shell never existed in the first place. That would be false, of course- to a point… See, Sylvie had an addiction to adrenaline. Her soul craved excitement and yearned to explore the unknown, something few had yet to truly experience. She wanted someday to become a daring adventurer, much like the ones in the muggle media she consumed. From a young age, she had a fascination with such entertainment. Valiant heroes and intrepid adventurers, conquering things one could only dream of! Dangerous foes, dragons and ghouls… Vicious beasts! She wanted that for herself… Since this obsession with the lionhearted individuals of yore began, Sylvie became determined to squash as many fears and paranoias as possible throughout her life, believing fearlessness to be one trait of an impeccable adventurer... Hero... It didn't matter to her; Whatever came first, she would embrace wholeheartedly.

From killing the enormous spider in her house that nobody else would, to diving off the highest of the diving boards at the pool, little Sylvie was taking them all on with gusto. No matter how uncomfortable it made her, she would push through and prevail. She had to. One of her endeavors occurred when she and some of her muggle schoolmates were out to play. There was a house that had become stuff of legend in their little neighborhood; at least among the children. It was dark and decrepit with an overgrown lawn and the rumor of a spirit residing within its crumbling walls. Who was Sylvie to deny a dare of "go inside and lock the door behind you" during a game of truth or dare between pals? This was the moment she'd been waiting for! It was a chance to prove herself to her friends and to herself that she was the bravest among them.

So, off she went. She looked back at her friends who stood with their thumbs up behind the squeaky gate of the house, looks of vague nervousness on their faces. Sylvie smiled to reassure them all would be fine. She hoped. As the girl stepped inside, the stale air hit her in the face. The dust tickled her nose as it floated through the space, disturbed by her sudden entrance. Though the sound of a settling house made her catch her breath in her lungs, despite that, her small hand reached up to the lock. Click!
It was too late to back out now, really. She would stay there for 10 minutes. The girl explored a bit... It was nothing more than an old house she'd soon come to find. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a grimy kitchen and dusty living room... She sat on the stairs, waiting for something to happen, but... Nothing. Not a ghost or a spook in sight, besides the occasional crack or creak from the darn house. She watched bugs and dust bunnies so by as the imaginary clock ticked down the minutes, somewhat disappointed, having expected some sort of shock after all.

She didn't actually know how much time had passed, but when she returned from her venture into local legend, her friends swarmed her. Was she okay? How did it look inside? Were there ghosts? These questions amused the girl... She concluded that day, things aren't always as scary as they seem... So why fear them right away, anyway? From then on, until something proved itself to be truly terrifying, Sylvie would choose to turn up her nose at the feeling of anxiety and push onward until she discovered it wasn't scary at all. A dangerous line of thinking for a little girl in such a scary world of oddities unknown to her.

Despite being born a pureblood, Finley had never really learned of her heritage until her 8th birthday. Of course, her first instance of magic happened that day, but something else did too. On the car ride over to the pet shelter, Finley couldn't contain her excitement and asked her parents a multitude of questions, most involving something about their family history and her parents' magic.
"Magic runs in the family, your grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins all have. And so does your father and I." Her mother had said, patiently waiting for her daughter's questions and answering all of them. "Your father and I met in the magical school that you'll be going to when you turn 11. We were both in the Slytherin house." She continued, seemingly reminiscing on the time she had there.
"Is that the house that I'll be in?" Finley asked, her mind being blown again and again.
"We'll have to wait and see darling, but that seems to be the most likely. Since nearly everyone in your family attended that house. Though, you shouldn't be worried if it isn't. Any house would suit you well."
And she was content with that answer. Excited to be attending a magical school in a few years and even more excited to now be getting a dog. She left the car and practically skipped her way to the door, barely able to contain her energy. Entering the store, she immediately began looking into all the enclosures of all the animals.
A few minutes into her self-guided tour around the shelter she found a ball python resting on a tree branch in its enclosure. She stared up at it for a minute, somehow seemingly drawn to the animal. Finley had always found herself drawn to animals, with snakes being one she seemed to have more of an affinity for. The snake turned to look at her, a sense of curiosity in its eye. "Well hello there."
Finley looked around, curious as to where the voice had come from. It was still just her parents and the worker there and none were close enough for her to hear if they were to whisper. She looked back at the snake as everything suddenly clicked. She was a witch so talking to snakes must just be one of her talents.
"Hi?" The snake turned to once again look at her. It seemed to nod slightly before it responded. "It has been a very long time since I have met someone able to speak with me. "
Her parents then came up beside her and led her into the shelter's dog section. The entire time she was looking around she thinking about the snake in the next room. Why was she able to speak to it? And what had it meant about not being able to speak to someone in a long time?
"Hey, mom? Can you speak to snakes?" She asked once she was sure the worker was out of earshot.
Her mother looked down at her curiously. "Why? Can you?" Finley nodded, now a little scared. "No dear, I can't. Though I've heard rumors that there are some in the family that are able to. But you must keep this a secret from everyone. Including other witches and wizards. It can get into a lot of trouble, Finley."

Ashton's dad, Clyde, was a well known guy back then and also a good looking no good troublemaker, a flirt, and even some might go as far as saying that he was a heartbreaker, flings here, flings there. Rumor says, he can make any woman or man to swoon for him and do his bidding. Kind of like a veela but not too extreme. So we all know where Ashton got his charming looks and a little bit of his personality from. Cunning, sarcastic, ambitious, intelligent, manipulative and a good leader, from a very young age he can get what he wants and rarely makes a fail attempt at it. If he does get in trouble, he'll use his charming smile and act innocent to slither his way out.

One time, in his muggle school, he and his 2 friends were planning to do something sinister. A prank. Their biggest one yet and of course, Ashton is the mastermind and the distraction while the other 2 will execute it. They did as planned, him being the distraction, did his part very well. He'll charm other students and distract them whenever they get too close on their destined location and lead them and their suspicion away with his well known smooth talks and conversations. He even managed to make it appear as though he was innocent when one of his peers slipped up and they all got caught.

Him being himself, he got away with it. Acting all innocent and charming, flashing a bright smile, the teacher let him off with a warning while the other 2... Weren't as fortunate as him which he apologetically smirked at them when he was let out of the classroom. He even managed to make the smartest girl in his class let him copy her notes when he hadn't studied for a test one time and thus resulting in him passing their test. Hes learning all of this from his dad which he encourages while his mother, Diana, doesn't. At all.

So, he instead got on the more unfriendly side that his mother approved of. Cold, anger issues, more like his mom. But that didn't stopped him from doing all the sneaky things he learned from his dad if he's really that desperate to get out of a situation. For a limited time only though. But pranking is still in his blood whether that was deemed un gentlemanly like.

Why it fits my character:
Reducio
Lilith always gave people the benefit of the doubt. She was always that person who walked into secluded places with someone she had just met, that person who didn't mind if someone asked her to do them a weird favor. She wasn't gullible, as per say, but she trusted her instincts, and she trusted others. After all, she was good at getting a read of people, knew a few self defense moves, so what was the harm of doing something, if it didn't take out too much of you? Not a very Slytherin thing to do, but if she could help, she would. And out of everyone she'd ever known, the person she trusted most was a girl called Ivyelne.

One day, just before her 10th birthday, Lilith's best friend, Ivyelne, ran up to her asking for her help. She was noticeably pale and distressed. After giving her friend some time to calm down, Lilith asked her what she needed. Ivyelne explained, stuttering all the while, that she had met someone who needed help. Now, to a bystander, it may have just seemed that Ivyelne was worried about the pressure of the situation. However, Lilith knew Ivyelne. She knew when she was lying. But, she trusted that she was lying for a good reason, and asked her to lead the way.

Ivyelne led Lilith into a dark alley, away from the crowds. Suspicious, Lilith asked Ivyelne what was going on, but Ivyelne just shook her head and led her further in. At this point, Lilith was getting really freaked out. But, before she could back out, Ivyelne ran off, leaving her alone in the darkness.

Lilith didn't remember much after that, only a sudden sensation of pain, lying in St Mungo's hospital, being visited by her parents and a crying Ivyelne. It turned out that a vampire lived in that alley, unknown to most, and that vampire found sick pleasure in turning victims. Ivyelne told Lilith that the vampire would have attacked Ivyelne's little brother if Ivyelne hadn't agreed to bring someone else there. At the last second, Ivyelne had brought some wizards, who interfered with the turning, making it an incomplete turning. So now... Lilith was a Dhampir.

Little by little, Lilith got used to being a Dhampir. She didn't go out in the sun as much, and she learned how to control her urges for blood, keeping a blood-flavored pop with her at all times, to help her resist attacking other people. Her eyes became a pink colour, turning black in the darkness, but she didn't mind that much. In truth, being a Dhampir had its perks. Lilith was already very pale, and didn't go out much anyway, helping her adapt. Was she mad at Ivyelne for indirectly turning her into a Dhampir? Yes. But she understood, and they made up before long. Many people found her untrustworthy, and many of her friends distanced themselves from her, since, after all, who would want a friend that was liable to suck your blood at any time? Nevertheless, Lilith was proud of being a Dhampir. She told people that she was one when they first met, warning them in case they did not want to interact with a creature like her. But she never shied away from the truth, and she wants to show people that Dhampires can be trusted.

Mod edit: You go for the turning, which is new. But please read out lore here. You can go for the failed turning, but I need something more about why you turned out a Dhampir and not a Vampire, because as of now I can switch the vampire with a werewolf without any major changes besides you turning out to be werewolf rather than dhampir. Also I will tell you, that we have our own Vampire lore on this site and most of it is not publicly known due to the site Vampires being very secretive.

Your stats are too low, they have to add up to 30.

Sevcon has always loved snakes and axolotls, and one day she figured out that talking to animals aren't as hard as they really seem.

She wasn't too aware of the special "affinity" her family had in slitherin house, let alone the very odd placements of pets in the family. Snakes as pets, a family tradition one could say about it; but it's more fate than any traditional ways. The family wasn't ever too talkative with wizard kind, yet so closely interlinked with the fabrics woven through an ancient lineage.

Many in her family had not chosen snakes for pets, per se, but more as in made a best friend that would assist and advice them. Her family have the rare ability to speak with snakes as they do,
a true affinity for communication and relations with snakes.

She herself inherited this power for herself from her mother that was never there for her. She learned not much about it, but one thing was certain for her: she was meant to have the gift, to hide it or show it, her lineage is a proud one, and so should she be.

Her father hadn't heard of his wife having such a knowledge in her family. Sevcon hadn't displayed many instances of using parseltongue, however one of the times she had, she managed to develop a bond with a particular, very deadly snake.

She was with her father, and she had asked for an "exotic" pet; it just so happened that her father knew one man that dealt with animals all over the world, and he owned one secretive shop withing Ireland. When her and her father went into the shop, they took a look at the very dangerous animals and came face to face with an enclosure of snakes, namely the Atheris Hispada otherwise known as the spiny Bush viper, and as the father went to ask of how safe the enclosures really were, Sevcon had her eyes on a blue and red variation of the vipers.

The snake had given eye contact back to her as to others it made a hiss, but to her, it had spoke to her. "what isss it that you look at, little one..?" the viper queried at her, and almost instinctively, she spoke back with a hasty reply; "I'm looking.. At you. Your scales look beautiful, why are you trapped in this place?" she threw back with a question of her own to the snake. "my name issss Ignisss. And that man took me for hiss own profit.. Care to let me free..? Itsss been sso long since I could talk with a witch or wizard.." Ignis remarked to her, taking a liking to the girl's ability, and getting somewhat captivated by the influence of such an ability.

She saw how the snake was, and came up with a quick plan, and although she'd fool her own father, she felt it was worth it for such a friendly and mistreated creature. She asked her father for the snake, as she had convinced him he could always prevent trouble with magic if it goes awry, but even he had to admit, he liked the snake; and so he bought it for his daughter, trusting she knew what she could do for it.

At that day, Sevcon had gotten both a new friend, and learned of her ability; and most of all, how much she really cares for creatures, whether magical or minute, she loved to try and help those who deserved or asked of such help. Her ability of parseltongue would only make it easier, and make it much more intriguing to achieve.

(note to those that must read this; I will not include Ignis in any way shape or form except as a conversational topic whilst the snake would be at her home. Unless specifically given permission by the team of hogwarts.io, I solemnly swear I will not add this snake as a pet within hogwarts, nor break any rules by having the snake be physically present within my rp unless I were given such a privilege.)

Muggle Magic. Those two words didn’t really make sense to the general public of the Wizarding world yet they made Lavinia smile. When she attended muggle school, it was the only type of magic she could do and even though she was now at Hogwarts, it still remained one of her biggest interests. How muggles were able to fool her with just a deck of cards was fascinating and it always made her want to try it herself. While electronic devices didn’t work in Hogwarts, she had somehow convinced her parents to let her have a laptop for the summers. Lavinia would have to travel away from the house to use it but, it was was very useful to examine some of the muggle Magic. This was because there were thousands of videos online that showed muggle magic tricks.

Lavinia found it much different than the magic that they taught at Hogwarts but loved trying to figure out how it worked. Normally, it was a simple sleight of hand trick that she would notice from the way that the performer's fingers moved. Sometimes though, she had to look much more closely into it and that’s where her keen eye started to come into play.

Day after day, she would examine each trick until she had figured out how it worked. Soon enough, she found herself evaluating every single part of the trick. From the direction that the performer’s pupils were pointing to where every single human finger was at a specific time. She even started to keep track of the order of the cards in specific tricks to help her better understand it. After Lavinia believed that she had evaluated the trick enough, she would attempt to do it herself with the deck of cards that she had with her. Unsurprisingly to Lavinia, the cards would bend to her liking causing her to successfully complete the trick without really learning how to properly do it.

By just using her observation skills, she probably became one of the best muggle magicians in the wizarding community, or at least in her opinion she was. Her family somehow still supported her as she showed them trick after trick which made it all really worthwhile. It was because when the wand went away, the magic became much more real.

Soon after all of the work that she had put into mastering muggle magic tricks, Lavinia started to notice more things than usual. The book out of place or turned the wrong way started to find its way into her brain. She would even find herself spotting that piece of clothing that was buried under a pile of clothes. At summer camp, Lavinia had looked for a key in an adventure escape room that a Gryffindor perfect put on, and almost immediately she had found it. The key had just popped out to her and it was obvious that it was somewhat due to her training her eyes.

As expected with noticing more things, Lavinia began to spot the snitch in Quidditch practices and wondered if maybe that would help her team in any way. Regardless of if it did or didn’t, Lavinia realized how useful all of her watching muggle magic videos had been. If she noticed more things, it might help her stay alert and out of the way during school-related incidents. Perhaps she could even stop others from following ruses again just because she would look closer into it.

Reliable. A word that stuck to the girl from a young age. When she became a Prefect, younger kids looked up to her. She felt confident and proud. Then it all stopped. Like a slap to the face. She stopped being reliable and became dependent. Felt scared and ashamed. The light at the end of the tunnel closed. It was all dark. But then a flicker of hope, a spark that had always been there got reignited.

Quidditch. She was in awe of the sport. Flying objects and racing around on brooms. What a cool sport. And she got to be apart of it since 2nd year. After her circumstance she didn't think she would be able to play anymore and had left the team. Students come and go but rarely do they return. When the news got spread there could be a way she could still play she jumped at the chance. Positions had changed and people had changed but they were still the same fierce team that had won the previous Quidditch cup.

Her first year back on the team was.. rough to say the least. Their game against Gryffindor ended with everyone except herself and two other Puffs knocked out cold. That was Quidditch for you. You win some and you loose some. But she couldn't shake the feeling it was her fault. If only she could catch more people. Just like getting back onto the team, there was a way. First, she had to beg Quinn to do extra practices with her out on the Training Pitch. Her practices were.. a bit odd to say the least. They consisted of semi-heavy bags with bells being tossed into the air. As the tinkle of the bell hit her ear, she directed herself towards the noise. Of course, there were a few misses and she bit her lip in frustration but they kept up the practices. Soon after several successful catches and dives with one bag it was time for two. She'd hold onto one bag while another one was tossed, making sure the bag stayed on as she swooped down to scoop up the second. Her hands grasped the sack and pulled it behind her as well before maneuvering the broom to the ground safely. If anything, it was harder than having actual people as the bags didn't have hands.

Practice was called to an end that day and a sweaty faced Annie hopped off the broom. Although exhausted she had done it. Just like getting used to her condition and make her way around the school took awhile and was hard, it soon became easier to catch the bags and block everything out but the noise of the bells. She'd reach up to wipe the sweat off her face with a gloved hand before a cheesy grin slipped onto her face. Even though she was a second-string on the team she was confident in herself again and she knew the rest of the team could count on her going into the new season.

Ever since Tyzon was a little child, he had always seemed to have the wisdom and intellect well beyond other children of his age and often showed it through certain means. Always ready and eager to learn more than what he is capable of, he often would read either beyond his grade level or outside of the standard curriculum when need be. He had been homeschooled like many other magical children of the world, and during this time he had shown a lot of promise and wit when it came to learning and retaining knowledge of what he saw and read. It was during this time, he asked his parents if he could learn the curriculum form muggle based schools as well, in addition to his normal home schooling. His parents had admired Tyzon’s determination and strong intellect to do such a thing, but they had feared that it would be way too much for his brain to handle, and neither of them wanted to burn their child out.

Tyzon then thought of a deal he could make with his parents in order for him to be able to learn more. He told them to let him try one subject at a time and if he thought he could handle it, he could continue and slowly add more muggle courses into his home schooling curriculum. His parents had to think hard and long about the offer their son had come up with, and eventually agreed in letting him do this, but only if they both thought he was capable of doing it with no harm to himself or his magical studies. During his next school day, his parents included one muggle subject into his schooling to see if he could do it, and Tyzon was able to handle it with no problem at all. His parents then allowed him to add another and another until he was learning all muggle classes on top of his regular homeschooling classes and it didn't seem to hinder him one bit.

As now he was going to be heading off to Hogwarts for schooling, in a couple months, his parents had brought him to get his school supplies, and before anyone knew it, Tyzon had already started to read some of the school books they had gotten him. He slowly read a few chapters from each school book, in order to keep up with each one, and Tyzon seemed to really peak an interest in the Defense Against the Dark Arts book, and ended up reading the entire book and finishing it about a week before he would even leave for Hogwarts.

Katrina and Boomerang have always had a special connection. More than just a witch and her familiar, but that almost of close friends. Well, if one friend was human, and the other one was feline… and they couldn’t verbally communicate… but nonetheless, they always had a close connection. Katrina got Boomerang part way through her second year and from the first moment Katrina made eye contact with Boomerang, they established a bond that would only strengthen with time.

From day one, Katrina always took the time to care to Boomerang, even on her busiest days. She provided above and beyond for him, brushing, feeding, cleaning, playing with, and even training him. In return for the time spent taking care of the feline, the two became rather in tune with one another. On her tough days, Boomerang would comfort her with purrs and affectionate head nudges; and on her strong ones, he was right by her side with a puffed out chest and bright eyes. When Katrina believed she was alone in the world, Boomerang would be right beside her, reminding that there was hope and that she truly wasn’t alone. The two cultivated a truly unique and tight connection with one another.

A discovery Katrina made, soon after becoming the owner of Boomerang, was the fact that he was not easy to contain. He managed to get out of her dorms daily and would always find her at lunch by leaping into her lap. It was amusing at first and soon got her into a few pinches as she tried to remove her pet from places he definitely shouldn’t be. Boomerangs knack for sneaking into places soon became something Katrina realized could be an asset. From the beginning, Katrina trained Boomerang to come or to go back to her dorm. A click of her tongue and a cat treat and Boomerang would come running from across the campus. The training never got too much farther than that, but it combined with Boomerang’s mischievousness, opened a world of possibilities.

Boomerang did more in a day than Katrina ever realized. He was often trailing behind her, just out of view. But other times he was off adventuring, meeting other pets in the castle and doing his own feline thing. Unlike Katrina, he had always been a rather social creature and has befriended many other familiars in the castle. Now, this may not be a direct benefit to Katrina as she isn’t necessarily aware of this fact, but it is something that has happened over the few years.

Boomerang and Katrina’s special connection has only grown in the few years since Katrina returned home with him. He is fiercely protective of Katrina and is likely to tag along in situations that might end up turning sour. He may not be able to communicate verbally with Katrina, but his emphatic reactions may benefit Katrina on occasion. Overall, Katrina will begin to see just how much of an ally Boomerang is and how much he can help her as time goes on.
