Dearest Mummy,

I'm sorry I havn't written to you lately. I think the last letter I sent to you was before we had the dance. It was possibly the worst day of my life uneventful. There was music and every kind of cupcake you could think of, like Bott's beans. My friend Elizabeth got one that tasted like earwax, possibly the funniest reaction I've ever seen! She's only ever had Muggle jelly beans I guess.

Since the party, I've just been trying to study as hard as I can for finals at the end of the year. My grades are great, and I've still been making time for my violin and art and everything. I can't wait to come home to see you this summer. I miss you and Nanna so much.

I hope to hear back from you two soon.

Dearest Mummy,

I wanted to write back to you to let you know that I do have someone I'd really love to bring with us on our trip! His name is Isaac, he's probably the closest friend I've made here and I think he'd really enjoy it...

I'm not sure if you've already decided on a place yet, but Isaac mentioned a place that might've sounded interesting. He said there's a place stateside called Disney something in Florida, would that be an optional place? I know its not like the trips we normally take, but it might be fun?

Everything else is going perfectly fine here. We're getting ready for finals, and I'm feeling pretty confident about them. I can't wait to come home and see you and Nana, I miss you two so much.

I hope you and Nana are doing well! I'll see you soon.

Dearest Mummy,

I hope everything at home is going well... I was sort of surprised that I havn't gotten a letter from you yet. It feels like this time last year, you were sending letters every week. I suppose you are very busy though. All the same, I hope you're doing well. I already can't wait to come home from Christmas to show you everything I've been learning and to tell you all about how my first duel went! That's right! My first duel!

I've been paired up with a third year in my house, and we're going up against two other second years that are in my house too! With all the practice I got in over the summer, I have a lot of confidence that my team will do great. I'll let you know how it goes.

September 15th

Dearest Mum,

I won my first duel! I wish you could have seen it! I got paired up with a third year as my partner, and we went up against a couple other second years. I managed to have the first knock out! They had us on the ropes for a while though. Thora, one of my opponents, hit me with Curse of the Bogies in the first round, but she's the one I managed to knock out! And then for a second, I really though I wasn't going to make it through but then we finally knocked out Bridget, the other girl and we won! It was really close though. My partner, Alexx, she was having a lot of trouble concentrating, but I think it was just nerves.

I told you I could do it though! All I wanted was to leave my first duel on my feet and I hope your proud that I did! I'm a little disappointed that I havn't heard from you in a while though. I hope everything is going well at home and at work. I can't wait to come see you for the holidays, I miss you so much.
