@Mari Haynes and @Luna Choi

Why was she in here so much these days? These bathrooms were becoming her third home. Of course, she didn't have the first one anymore, so they were really her second home, second to only the House of Slytherin. One would never know that toilets could be so welcoming. Koko had brought a bar of chocolate. It was still wrapped, but... She wasn't going to unwrap it, not yet.

It certainly wasn't a sanitary place to eat a food, let alone a noble food such as chocolate. Still, Koko couldn't help but be seated on an old towel. The towel had been in there when she found it. It was yellowed and stained, and for a moment Koko was unsure of whether or not it would be painful to sit on it. Koko unwrapped her chocolate and sat down, enjoying the taste of the rich chocolate.

She knew that this moment of being solitary couldn't last. Someone was bound to barge in here. But she would enjoy it while it did last. How she wished she had a little kitten to share this moment with... She almost had half the amount of galleons needed to buy one. She hoped that one day she would be able to buy one - and hopefully soon! She was itching for a companion.

She did have a companion, Sapphire, but her sister wasn't always there. No, Koko wished for someone who could follow her, who she could hug without getting killed. While Sapphire was nice... She would kill Koko if Koko tried to hug her. Koko could use chocolate as her companion for now, though, at least until she had a good friend or a pet. Preferably a cat. Cats were amazing...

She wasn't too grossed out by the mold on the sinks, by the broken glass still there from the Kaegen incident. She wasn't scared. She would reach out and pick up a piece of glass, cupping it gently in her small fingers. It didn't cut her, but she could and would toss it at someone should they enter. She would rather use her knife than the glass, but it honestly didn't matter to her.

Koko was a normal person... Wasn't she? She liked chocolate, she read books, she enjoyed drawing. She was just very defensive. That wasn't a bad thing. She could protect herself if anyone dared to - oh, what was this??

It was a locket, caught on the side of the sink. Pretty, Koko thought, and she picked it up. It was really beautiful. Koko slid it into the pocket of her robes. If someone claimed to be the owner, she would listen, but she would do no more.

20 May.
Abandoned Toilets.
5 pm.

The porcelain palace was ready for Moaning Mari to eat her latest meal there. Today, of course, the meal consisted of a turkey sandwich. The only time she had not eaten a turkey sandwich since her experience at Blossom Ball was, in fact, April 23. She had seen the Muggle food of “Cheetos” and decided to take a few. It resulted in food poisoning. Mari taken quite a few breaks between vomits to sob about how unfortunate her life had become: first stabbed, then an attempted kidnapping, then food poisoning? She really did deserve her exams to be cancelled, for woe was her. As she walked towards her palace, known to the commoners as the Abandoned Toilets, she made a mental note to actually contact Headmaster Lear about making that happen. There was no way he could refuse, obviously. She deserved it, after all her traumas.

When she had spent her month of self-imposed solitary confinement in the toilets, no one had interrupted her. This was, of course, most likely because of her wails - no one would want to go into a room that sounded like a dying giraffe lived there. No one sane, that is. She had been a bit surprised that no one had interrupted her, but it was also perhaps because there had been writings in the newspaper about the stabbing that had occurred there. It was likely that people were afraid that they could be stabbed there, as well.

The Mari of before the Blossom Ball would have avoided the toilets as though her life depended on it. The Mari of today seemed to take an immense comfort in embracing her sorrows solely in the places where her most pain had occurred. She did cry many times during class and at night, but she felt the most relief when she could release as many tears as possible in the solitude of the toilets. The campgrounds’ wounds were still a bit too fresh.

The Mari of before Blossom Ball was also quite unremarkable. The Mari of today was, quite frankly, a mess. She had begun wearing the blood-stained robes from her stabbing more often than the ones that had actually been cleaned. Her usually tame curly hair was now a frizzy mess, and she had clearly not showered in weeks. Bags lived under her eyes, which were also blood-shot from insomnia. She had taken to walking while looking downward, as she had some sense that if she made eye-contact, she’d be able to tell what people would inevitably be thinking: Mari Haynes looked crazed.

Turkey sandwich clutched firmly, Mari opened the door of the toilets, ready for her daily cry. When she opened the door, however, she was shocked to see that somebody was actually already in the toilets and she was also attempting to eat there. The girl was sitting on an old-looking towel, just munching on a chocolate bar; she obviously wasn’t as much of a genius as Mari was to use the toilet seat as her table. Sometimes when Mari felt her sandwich looked particularly fancy, she would even put a table cloth on the toilet seat. It sometimes got wet; whether it got wet from tears or toilet water was ambiguous.

Today was not a fancy day, especially because this snake had invaded her palace when its defenses were preoccupied with stupid, idiotic classes! Mari couldn’t help it - she stomped her feet with such intensity the sound echoed throughout the palace. She then let out a loud wail while saying, “What are you doing here? This is my palace, no one invited you!”

The tears flowed as she glared at the girl. She had better explain herself - and fast. In the past month, Mari’s emotions had been mounting in ways that were almost unfamiliar, and it seemed an explosion could be imminent.

Humans were such strange creatures. They usually lost something themselves and being sad because of that. They did it to themselves, and they deserved it. Humans should have thought of the result before doing something so, idiots. But we couldn't say that people who lost their stuff were idiots because Luna also lost her belongings sometimes. And she was so sure that she was not an idiot, and no one could call her that, except that woman. The person that she didn't want to say the name. Why did she become like this? Maybe because she would be twelve this October, which also meant the "Teenage rebellion" might have already started. Luna, after all, was just a kid who thought she was mature than others.

As she was saying, she couldn't understand why they were sad because of something they deserved. She also lost her things sometimes, and she was fine with it - until now. Her necklace was gone. Totally gone, and the worst thing was that she couldn't find it anywhere. Why did it matter? The Slytherin Prefect was definitely not the type that would care about the look, then why? Because this was not a normal necklace basically. This necklace was also a portkey. What was a portkey? That was not a question that an intelligent person would ask, but she wouldn't mind explaining. People usually used that thing to transport them to another pre-determined location. Usually, they just needed to touch it, but to use her portkey, they also needed to say *the password*. But that actually didn't matter now, since she couldn't use the portkey in Hogwarts. It made sense since if they could, the train and boat that brought them to Hogwarts wouldn't exist in the first place.

She didn't mention her parents much, she even avoided talking about her, but she still respected them. What kind of daughter would disrespect their own parents? Unless those parents were treating them badly of course, but Luna's parents weren't, so it was accepted from her. Anyway, the locket was the present from her parents, and she had always worn it since she left her parents to go to Hogwarts. Of course, she still took it off while bathing. Bathing but still wear the locket was pretty weird, she had never tried that before. And she wouldn't.

She had lost it for more than two days, and she couldn't find it although she was looking for it all the places that she usually visited. The ground, library, dorm room, and a lot more, but no result. Sometimes she wondered if a student took it and didn't give her the necklace back. It was understandable because no one could resist the beauty of the locket. Yes, her parents were really amazing. Anyway, the second reason that she came up with was that although she wore it all the time, no one could see it because she hid it under her uniform. Not to mention, no one would dare come that close to her to notice that she had a necklace. Why? Because she would never allow that to happen, basically. Just try that, and she would use her eyes to kill them.

Everyone that met Luna these two days could easily realize that she wasn't in a good mood. She still had that calm face, but those eyes of hers showed nothing but coldness. Although she was pretty cold to others back then, the air around her had never been scary like this. Still that hairstyle, still that face, but made them felt like if they said something wrong, Luna wouldn't mind about giving them detention. Although she was in a bad mood, she wouldn't do that. And seriously, she had never cared about what people around her said unless it was insulting her. The only place left that she hadn't checked was the abandoned bathroom.

Okay okay, she actually visited the toilet two days ago. Because she was wondering, where would be a good place to do the detention. And what came up on Luna's mind was this dirty place. To be honest, she had never visited it before that time, she just knew it was a toilet. Abandoned toilet. Which also meant, it had to be dirty, a great place to do detention. If she wasn't wrong, she could have accidentally taken her necklace down to try to wash her face there and forgot to put it back on.

To be fair, this wasn't the first time she came up with the idea of visiting the toilet, but whenever she passed by, she could hear someone crying. Someone, or something. Kind of sounded like a monkey, but she had no idea what it really was. Even if it was a student, there was no rule about "Crying in the toilet is forbidden", so Luna decided to... ignore it and act like she didn't hear anything. Not today though, she really wanted to get her necklace back, because of this world, and because of everything.

When she had just stepped in the bathroom, she heard someone screaming at another person and then started... crying. That sounded like someone she knew, and Luna looked at that person.

Oh, shit.

Could she choose to go away right now? Because she was not in the mood to deal with a problem, such as this Hufflepuff girl. But wait, she seemed kind of different... Kind of more wild? And kind of smelly. Made her want to throw Mary into the Prefect Bathroom. But sadly, this girl was not a Prefect, so she should forget about this. And wait, if she wasn't wrong, the Hufflepuff had just called this place a palace. Luna quickly took a look around the toilet, but she couldn't find any reasons to call this place with that gorgeous world. Maybe... this depended on people's thoughts. Although Luna used that reason to "back up" for Mary's action, she still felt kind of weird.

And the other girl... what a coincidence, this was also a familiar face as well. Let's see... Luna didn't hate Koko but didn't like her either. Just in the middle, the whatever type. But, what on earth was that girl doing? Eating toilet- No, she meant eating chocolate in a toilet. Well, these two are basically... perfect to each other.

Luna decided to ignore those two and went to the sink, just to check if her thought was right or not. Though, her eyes were still scary because she hadn't found her locket. Now if anyone stepped in the bathroom, they would see a weird scenario. A girl eating chocolate, another girl was crying, and the last girl was simply ignoring those two and was looked at the sink, and some people in there might feel cold for some reason. And the coldness, all started from the lavender hair girl.

Just because I said you were bad does not mean that I am mean. It shows that I am honest.

Well then. People were here. That certainly changed things. Koko discarded her chocolate bar to move back against the smashed window - thanks, Deathmote. She could have an escape if she had to. She didn't want to hear these yells, these sobs; they reminded her too much of home.

Was it really home anymore? No, it was not. But she still thought of it as home; it wasn't easy to change the way you thought of something. It was habit, and anyone should know how difficult it could be to break a habit. She closed her eyes until -

“What are you doing here? This is my palace, no one invited you!”

Koko bit back a sour laugh. "Oh really?" she said quietly, with a hint of sarcasm and a hoarse voice. "You really think so." She couldn't help but laugh there. It was bitter; it sounded reminiscent of longing. "If it is your palace... Then why don't you take a seat upon your throne. I will leave you be."

Koko wasn't smiling. She wasn't frowning. Her lips were set in a firm line, and they weren't going to change very quickly. There was a smell in here, the smell of mold and mildew, which made the twelve-year-old wrinkle her nose. Disgusting. It smelled like home that place. It smelled familiar, and familiarity wasn't always welcome to Koko. Familiar people, familiar smells, familiar sounds, and now, familiar memories. They weren't welcome. She wanted to push them away, out the broken window, and let them be stabbed by the spiky glass.

"Why are you crying?" Koko asked the Hufflepuff, almost neutrally. Her tone was even, almost uncaring, but it still wasn't. She didn't sound cold.

And right as she said that, the door flew open. Violet eyes, lavender hair... Koko had seen her before. In the medical wing. And then once in the Grounds. A fellow Slytherin, what a surprise. Koko nodded hello to the prefect. Better to be polite than get a detention. Koko tried to disguise her fear with apparent happiness - but it was in vain. Her small, slender fingers still trembled as she saw the other snake.

She couldn't help but be terrified of Luna. Someone who acted so cold, and who could deal out detention without any warning, that was what scared Koko. She didn't want to show it, though, so she instead dropped the glass she was holding in a show of sudden courage. "I haven't seen you around here." Her voice was still quiet, but the hoarseness had left it. Her voice was even, no trace of fear entering there. At least her voice wouldn't betray her. She had spent years training it to be her strongest point, and it was. She might be able to be knocked over with a poke, but she could speak riddles and lies quickly and believably. No one would ever suspect any lie that her silver tongue whipped together. No one would ever want to contradict someone who could string together rumours and insults that could ruin their life.

Of course, she wouldn't spread lies for no reason. She would certainly spread truth, but no lies. Lies were troublesome, as was truth, but truth was so much harder to use. It was harder to use as a weapon, but such a useful defense. So of course Koko would stay quiet, shy, and pretending. Always pretending. Luna went to look at the sink, and Koko's thoughts immediately flew to the necklace she had found. Was it the prefect's? Yet another wave of fear washed over her. She couldn't believe it. She would get detention for a stupid mistake, when she had done many detention-worthy things and never been caught. She was still mostly a good person, but that always depended on what you thought of as "good." She did things for the greater good. Her own good was the greater good, at least in her professional twelve-year-old mind. Everyone else could come later.

She had a hand on the windowsill, ready to leap out if required. When she was scared, she wanted to run away. It was the fight-or-flight response, and the one time she had chosen to fight, it had not gone well. So she would rather fly away. She remembered that spell the one kid had cast... Was it Fleependo? Yes, the Knockback Jinx had been incorrectly cast, making the kid fly. But... If Koko didn't even know the correct version, could she make herself fly using that one?

It was certainly something to think about, but for now she would keep an eye on her surroundings. She didn't have to worry about the Hufflepuff and her turkey sandwich. She only had to worry about Luna. The Hufflepuff, while sobbing, wasn't much of a threat. A prefect who betrayed no emotions could have any motive. Koko's golden eyes searched the room for another method of escape, and she could only find the door. The door, which Luna was blocking.

Yeah, Koko wasn't going there. Not at all. She'd leap out the window if she had to... It was only the second floor up, so she would be fine. But she still didn't appear scared. Her weight was on the balls of her feet, something that she'd taken to doing recently. Something that a defensive person should do. Something to prevent her from being killed.

Not that she was scared or anything. No, she totally wasn't scared. She just didn't like this one bit. Koko bent to pick up her chocolate, which was on the towel, but she still kept her gaze on the other children. She wouldn't let them attack her while she wasn't ready. She wasn't usually this paranoid, but Luna was here... Why was she so scared of the prefect? She didn't know, and as she straightened her back to appear taller, she took a bite of chocolate. Only a chocolate addict like herself would be calmed by sweet, creamy milk chocolate. She set it back down, dropping it on the towel without bending down. She wasn't going to put herself in more danger.

"Are you going to hurt me?" she said quietly, so quietly that it might have appeared that she said nothing, that only her mouth had moved and that only hot breath would escape her lips. But no, she had said it, and only one with superb hearing could easily hear it. She would finally admit that she was terrified, but she wouldn't show it.

Two soon became three. Mari sensed the presence of...farts. Not literal farts, of course. Metaphorical ones. Nose scrunched, she twirled around and looked at the newcomer. No wonder it reeked of metaphorical farts, for Fartface herself was in the Porcelain Palace.

She screeched like an ape trying to protect her newborn baby when she saw the girl; "What are you doing here?!" she hollered as she stepped forward, thinking, faster, faster, get at her before she defecates all over these beautiful floors. Brown eyes focused on purple as Mari noted the intensity in Choi's eyes and froze. Something was not quite right. The girl was evil, in Mari's opinion, but she had never looked that intense before. She ruffled her already wild hair in confusion and pulled out a corn puff. Hmm. She popped it in her mouth without a thought.

She didn't have much time to linger on the perplexing appearance of Luna "Fartface" Choi as the other snake had to be dealt with. Mari's palace was bound to go down in flames, at this rate. She just hoped that the other girl hadn't ruined her crown yet. Luckily, she hadn't seemed to have been in the palace for too long, as her towel hadn't quite acquired the brown stain from the floors that Mari had grown to love. Oftentimes, her knees got covered in the sludge; Mari thought of it as a sort of "kiss" from the palace. A sign of love.

Speaking of palace, the Slytherin seemed to think that Mari was not at all serious about it being one. Her jaw slackened as she stared at the girl in shock, momentarily freezing her face from continuing to emit tears and screams. "Pfft," she sputtered. A giant glob of spit lobbed its way towards the Slytherin. Though unintentional, Mari secretly felt that the girl deserved a little saliva as revenge for insulting the most comfortable place in the entire school. "I guess I will, then."

She strode towards the stall that was no longer a stall, just a mere toilet, out in the open. While her toilet-tables always changed, her throne remained unchanging - the only consistency, it seemed, in Mari's life. Thankfully, her crown also remained stagnant; the Slytherin truly had not been in the palace long enough to notice the glorious art project that was the crown of the Porcelain Palace. Mari plopped it on her head, then positioned herself onto the basin of the toilet, crossed her legs, and smirked at the girl.

Unbeknownst to Mari, she had plopped her feet right into the toilet water. She was too preoccupied with the Slytherin's location, too unsettled by Choi's lack of words yet cold look to realize that water oozed up her pant leg as her shoes sunk further into the basin. The mysterious brown-haired girl stood by a broken mirror, which, given the fact that Mari had spent what felt like all of her time in the palace, she had not noticed once. A small chill raised goosebumps onto her arms as she had a sinking feeling that she knew why the window was broken. Mari shook off the feeling. It didn't matter. She would just need to fix the window, since the professors of Hogwarts seemed too bourgeoisie to do it themselves. Wasn't there supposed to be a caretaker of the castle? Mari would have to find a better one; surely she would get a promotion on the newspaper staff for her exposé of the wrongdoings of this lazy, soon-to-be-unemployed individual.

Mari's reverie was broken by the girl's words. "I'm crying because you're tainting my palace with your filth," she snarled, as the tears flowed yet again. She realized that she had been clutching the sandwich a little too tightly; fingered prints remained in the spongy bread as she loosened her grip. She turned to take a bite of it, adjusted her crown, and continued with a full mouth, "And what is your name, invader of the Porcelain Palace?"

Mari would have to wait for an answer. It seemed that the girl wanted to awake the sleeping beast that was Choi. Choi, clearly out to kill in Mari's eyes (that was the theme of these toilets, their other identity - it only made sense), still looked quite livid. Mari wondered why she had to bring her "woke up on the wrong side of the bed"-horrible mood to tarnish the atmosphere - her metaphorical fart stank was enough. Still chewing, and while bits of bread launched themselves out of her mouth as she spoke, Mari inserted herself in the Slytherin's weird statement-question: "Yeah, that's cause she knows whose palace it is: mine. I don't know what kind of vendetta you have against me with your sour mood, Choi, but lemme tell you, the first rule of the Porcelain Palace is that you need to cheer up, buttercup when you're in here. So state your purpose and wipe that ugly look off your face."

The watermark on her robes would only be growing larger and more obvious, but Mari still didn't notice. She was far too distracted by the unwelcome company. All she had wanted to do today was what she did every day, cry, and these rebel-rousers were putting her off-schedule. Well. If they were going to torture her with her presence, she could fight back. The Blossom Ball had taught her that that was the best method of action, after all. So when the mysterious girl went to pick up her chocolate off of that ratty, yet still quite clean, towel, Mari said sarcastically, "I don't know if you'll want to eat that. There are -" she focused her eyes on Choi "-germs on it, now." The germs wouldn't be from the Porcelain Palace, never from the Porcelain Palace. It was too perfect to hurt someone; it was only a source of comfort for when people got stabbed or needed to cry a bit.

As for the last statement? Mari just rolled her eyes. The girl was frightened of Choi, a prefect from her own house for crying out loud! It wasn't worth the energy. She placed her fingers back in the indented bread and took another large bite as she watched the events play out in her kingdom from her royal throne.

"...I am pretty busy these days." Luna answered Koko's question while still searching for her locket. That was actually kind of a lie. Although she still spent her free time searching for the gift her parent gave her, she knew how to control her free time. She actually knew the reason why they rarely met each other. Yes, both of them belonged to the snake house, but it didn't mean that they would have a chance to meet. She rarely stayed in the Common Room for more than five minutes, because she had no reason to do that. After classes had ended, she had always been one of the people who left the class first. Not because she felt bored because of the lesson, Luna just basically didn't have any interested in jumping around the professor and make a fool of herself by asking dumb questions. There was no way she would do that, even in the dream. Her free time was for patrolling, reading and finding the locked, not for finding people that she knew and acted like "Oh hello I really missed you". No way.

And to betray her hope, she couldn't find the locket anywhere around the sink. She doubted that it could be somewhere... in the toilet, because how did a necklace ended up there? And amazingly, that Hufflepuff kid decided to scream at her and acted like this dirty toilet was her house. Luna turned around to face her, "It's none of your business." She wouldn't say this to others, but to that kid, she wouldn't mind doing it. But seriously, she was so unlucky. Just wanted to check where her necklace was at, but then she had to meet this kid. Horrible, and disappointing.

Her gaze turned to Koko, and she was glad that this girl wasn't a cry baby like that one over here. If she was, they would drive her mad, and with the fact that she had her bag, where she placed her wand at, and she knew some attacking spells, Luna couldn't be sure if she would break the rules to shut those mouths up or not. Of course, it wouldn't happen, since the other Slytherin was a normal human. At least, that was what she hoped. Though, what kind of Slytherin would be a crying baby? That was Luna's thought, and she might totally forget about Nico, the other Slytherin Prefect, who was kind of a crying baby as well. Or maybe she didn't forget, but she was ignoring that fact. Only Luna knew the answer.

...How dirty. Although she was between these girls, she gave up on helping Koko. Luna wasn't a clean freak, but she couldn't accept what the Haynes kid just did that dirty thing. She let out a sigh and felt poor for the other Slytherin. Opening her bag, her hand touched her silk tissue at first. ...Maybe not. Although she wanted to give Koko something to wash that dirty thing came from Mari's mouth, she didn't want to give her tissue...

And how lucky, she found out that she had two towels in her bag. Those were from the Prefect's bathroom, and maybe because of the locket, instead of putting the two towels back to the Prefect Bathroom, she put it in her bag and didn't even realize it. It might be luck, just maybe. Luna came closer to Koko and gave her the towel. "Take it," she said, and quickly walked back to the place where she was standing at first as saying "You are not allowed to give me that towel back."

Now she really wondered how Mari managed to live until now. For Merlin's sake, what on Earth was that thing on her head? She looked away, this was too horrible for her. Now she felt like Mari was totally different from the last time she met her. The last Mari was sure childish like this one, still had tears on her eyes like this one, but this Mary was much more... insane. And unacceptable.

"Miss Haynes, are you sure that she is the one who is filth?" Although her relationship with Koko wasn't that good, although she even noticed that Koko didn't feel comfortable that Luna was here, she still decided to back her up. Maybe because that girl was also a Slytherin, or maybe it was because Mari managed to piss her off by doing that dirty thing.

Porcelain Palace? Was she talking about this toilet? Well, since this kid had already called this place a palace, she shouldn't be surprised. But she thought the name would be something like "Palace for Idiots" or "Worst Palace of all time". But anyway, that name that Mari gave this place didn't make any sense.

Luna silently looked at Koko, and finally, she started to wonder what she had done wrong to this girl. If she wasn't wrong, she had never given detention to this girl, or she had never tried to scare her. How weird. Well, humans had always been weird, she shouldn't be surprised anymore.

She took out the wand from her bag, maybe to scare the other girls? No. What she wanted to do was just repairing the mirror that was broken near her. She had no idea about what happened inside this toilet - Luna rarely knew about gossip. All she knew was that she couldn't bear the fact that there was a broken mirror near her because it was weird. "Reparo." She mumbled while drawing the hand movement correctly. It didn't take the mirror too long to repair itself. All the pieces flew back to where the mirror was and connected each other. But once again, to break Luna's hope, it was still dirty as usual. After all, this was just the repairing charm, not the cleaning charm. She let out another sigh, at least the mirror looked better now.

Luna turned back to Koko, finally answered her question. "I have no idea what you are talking about. Have I ever attacked you?" Although the Luna right now wasn't in a good mood, she wouldn't just pick someone and then attacked them. That didn't sound like Luna at all.

"Don't talk as if you looked that happy." If Mari wanted, Luna would do it. The look from her face changed from coldness to sarcasm when she noticed what was happening to the kid's robes. "Take this." A towel that looked exactly like the one she gave Koko, but this was a different way of giving. Luna didn't hesitate, threw the towel right on Mari's face and that "crown" of hers. "And... assuming that you are the person who called this beautiful place a palace, were you the money who kept crying here?"

"Anyway," Luna turned her focus on Mary to Koko, "Have you seen a silver locket? It has the heart shaped..." She wouldn't do this if she wasn't this disappointed. She couldn't find it anywhere, just hoped that this girl wasn't insane like the Hufflepuff. Not to mention, she kind of want to leave this place already. It was really dirty, it had a girl who was scared of her and a girl who was insane. No.

Just because I said you were bad does not mean that I am mean. It shows that I am honest.

Well, well, well. Certainly a great and interesting scene, but also one that the Beater wanted to leave. Leave, or whack something, and right now she didn't have her bat. Koko wasn't pressed up against the window because she was leaving herself room to feel comfortable, but she wasn't scared to jump out of it. The Slytherin wasn't happy with this situation, and to say the least, she was almost intimidated by it - but who could be intimidated by a lowly Hufflepuff?

And then there was something else, something extremely terrifying. Wait. No. It wasn't terrifying. It absolutely was not terrifying. It was disgusting beyond measure. "What the hell?" Koko asked aloud, craning her neck to see. On her arm there lay a small ball of something that looked suspiciously like saliva - and saliva was absolutely disgusting.

Now Koko was pissed off. Actually, no she wasn't. She was bloody livid. She just didn't show it very much, if it all. One might be able to see just a bit more colour flush her cheeks, or perhaps the depths of her golden eyes raging with fire. But no one would be able to tell that she wanted to take her knife out of her combat boot and shove it down the Hufflepuff's throat.

Those thoughts disappeared when the scary prefect did something. Something kind. Something completely unexpected. She handed Koko a towel and told her to keep it.

"Hm, all right. Thank you." Koko glared at the Hufflepuff. She still stood, bouncing lightly on her feet, at the window. She was very angry about the spitball. Very angry. She wanted to call the Hufflepuff many names, some of them not appropriate, but she bit her tongue. Better to hold it in. She used the towel to wipe it off of her arm. At least she had been wearing her robes over her unworn shirt.

"I would have given it back, but that's fine." Koko forced a smile. Still pretty terrified and shivering and all, she inched backwards once more. She honestly didn't give a damn if the other two were to fight. She didn't want to be a part of the battle. She looked out the window once more at the landscape a few floors down. It would be a very large ouch if she did not land correctly. Koko began to have second thoughts about her escape plan. Fleependo might not save her.

My filth? I can't believe you!" Koko sputtered the words, taken aback by the Hufflepuff's insult. She doesn't know who I am! Koko's fine line of lips twisted into a frown, her eyes alight with fresh anger. "Riddle," she offered for a name. See if she recognises that.

Oh, so Luna would then fix the mirror. Koko's sliver of glass didn't move; it had been from the window. If it had moved, then Koko would have had a line of blood across her hand. She probably would have then leaped out the window to avoid embarrassment. Koko remembered that Luna had come closer, and she hadn't flinched away. Koko was slightly less scared of the prefect now that she had shown kindness. Someone who had evil intentions couldn't show kindness like that, right?

It was a naive hope, but a strong one. A hope that perhaps Koko wouldn't have to jump out the window and risk certain death after all. She wasn't smiling, but her frown had faded into what looked like a perfectly straight line. Her eyebrows weren't pointing up nor down, but in a straight line. She looked indifferent.

She didn't feel indifference, not at all, but the First Year had grown used to concealing her emotions. It was just a usual thing for Koko, nothing special. Koko would lean against the windowsill, hoping she could fit out the small thing, when more words were spoken:

"I have no idea what you are talking about. Have I ever attacked you?"

It was Luna. Well... How to answer that... The prefect always seemed cold, as if she had some ulterior motive. Still, it would be best not to say that right not. It would be best for Koko to not ruin her reputation as a good, rule-following student - she hadn't gotten any detentions and was extremely prideful of her O average. "No, you have not attacked me." Yet, Koko's mind echoed. Of course there was still the possibility of being attacked. Koko was sure that the prefect was well ahead in her lessons than Koko was. "But you usually act so cold, and I just... I suppose I prefer it when I can read people easily. It can be a little jolting when I cannot." She spoke as directly as she could while trying to be polite, and she believed that she had done a wonderful job of it.

Koko smirked when Luna threw the towel at the other girl. Wonderful. Now she at least had someone on her side. She cast a grateful look at the prefect, who suddenly didn't seem so cold in her mind. She remembered that one time, the only time she had ever seen a prefect break the rules. Luna had helped Koko when she was hurt. She supposed she owed her... But what was there to give? Koko hardly had any money of her own; most of it was from her adoptive father, and she couldn't inherit anything from her parents until she turned seventeen. Plus, now she would have to share with her sister. She would still get a little extra, being the oldest and all... Even if it was only by two and a half minutes.

"You dare insult my chocolate?"

The words were said with a smile, but one which succeeded a deadly calm tone. She was not by any means happy. She was not by any means angry, at least not anymore. She may have still had a small urge to stab the Hufflepuff, but she wasn't like that. No, she'd rather fight her enemies with fear - which might have been what Luna was doing to her.

She dismissed the thought quickly. Nah. Koko would have known if her mind was being messed with. In fact, Koko was beginning to realise that she may have overreacted. Koko was honestly beginning to truly dislike the Hufflepuff, but she was beginning to feel a lesser amount of fear for the other Slytherin. Until she asked about that goddamn necklace.

Oh. Well. What do I do now?? She'll give me detention!!

"I have, in fact," Koko answered the Lavender-haired girl. "It was caught on a sink, and I took it in hopes that no one with worse intentions would. I will give it back to its rightful owner as soon as I find out who it belongs to." The absolute truth. Koko prided herself on how little she lied. She didn't lie because she never felt the need to cover anything up. If she didn't need to cover something up, then why should she lie? The logic was very flawless in her genius twelve-year-old mind. But what if Luna was lying? Koko wouldn't be able to live with herself if she gave away a precious locket to someone who was planning to steal it?

Not that a prefect would steal (hopefully). Koko hoped that nothing would go wrong. Of course, something was usually bound to, and that was why Koko could jump out the window if she had to. She reached inside of her robes and produced the silver locket. "It's here. But I would first like evidence that it is yours and that you are not stealing it. I would hate to give it away if it's not yours." She looked into Luna's eyes, gold into violet, to show that she was serious. She wouldn't give it to Luna if Luna had no reason to have it.

That was mostly because one couldn't always trust a prefect. One couldn't always trust a professor. One couldn't always trust one's own friends and family. Koko herself certainly had trust issues, and she dealt with them well. She still wasn't easy to make new friends. Acquaintances, sure, but not friends. Friends had to be trustworthy. Acquaintances were people who she might betray, and people who might betray her. Still, Koko aspired to be one who could be trusted. Perhaps a friend to some, an enemy to others, but idolised. She still had far to come, though, and at this point in time, she was about to hoist herself onto the windowsill.

Her robe sleeve will still wet from the spitball - which was still grossing Koko out. What normal person would even do that sort of thing. Koko bit her lip, unsure of what to do next. Should she go try and talk to the Hufflepuff, or should she talk to Luna? "I apologise for intruding on your turkey sandwich eating time," Koko began, finally deciding on the Hufflepuff. "But now I would like to know your name."

Had the Hufflepuff recognised Koko? Koko certainly hoped so. Hufflepuffs were weird. Slytherins were fine, but Koko was so happy that no lion was in here. Gryffindors were stuck up. Koko was still holding her stance, but her expression had gone from fearful to sort of wary. She didn't want to be caught off guard, but at the same time she didn't want to appear to be scared any loner. She didn't want them to feel as if they could take advantage of her. No, they couldn't. Koko wouldn't let them.

And then Koko wondered if the other snake would reach out to grab the necklace anyway, and Koko lifted it higher, until it was dangling above her head. Luna was shorter than Koko was, and not only by a few inches - Koko could tell it was a little more than half a foot! She didn't want to bully the prefect, but she also wanted to know whether or not the necklace was actually Luna's. Would she give it to her? "Either way, if you do tell me, how would I know that you're not lying?" Koko said, rising on her tiptoes for dramatic effect. "It could be..." She trailed off, her golden eyes darting to the Hufflepuff who sat on the toilet. And then a whisper slipped out of her lips: "Hers."

She knew that Luna disliked the other girl, but Koko didn't know to what extent the dislike went. It could only be a "I don't like you" sort of thing, but it could also have been a "get out of me or I will kill you" dislike. Koko didn't know which. What if it was in between? That would certainly make things difficult. Koko was unsure how Luna would respond to her slight taunting, and she also didn't know how the Hufflepuff would respond. What if Luna gave her detention?

That made Koko stand rigidly, her arm still sticking above her head. Oh, shit. What had she done? This certainly wasn't good! Her father would kill her, and so would Sapphire. Still, the only change in the way Koko stood was her rigid posture. Her facial features were all plain and lifeless, a slight curiosity burned into the depths of her eyes. She was curious, but unsure how exactly to voice her curiosity.

Not knowing these people very well made Koko cautious about how she acted. Every action had a reaction, and she didn't know how these people acted, so she had no clue what their reaction would be. If she said the wrong thing, did the wrong thing, it would be detention, detention, detention. And that was highly unfavourable.

She didn't want to be in trouble. She wanted to be a good person, with a good reputation. "All right," she said slowly, lowering the hand with the necklace in it. "I will give it to you if you're not trying to steal it." Koko might not have been able to read Luna, but she would try to be fair.

When someone gives you a gift, you are supposed to say thank you. Instead, this unknown Slytherin girl said, "What the hell?" Mari was very confused as to why she reacted the way she did; the lob that had landed on her arm was beautifully shaped, albeit with a little turkey-sandwich residue in it. She should be grateful, not disgusted, even if the lob was made of spit. That was a work of art.

Her frown deepened as Choi tossed a towel to the girl. Did she not understand the beauty that was before her, either? Not the other Slytherin, of course, but the spitball. For a brief moment, Mari thought to shriek at the girls to stop their ridiculousness and put the ball in a jar or something, but she knew that these girls were too foolish to listen to her sage advice.

Instead, she would just deal with the fact that they did not understand that of course Mari was not the filthy one, this other girl was. She was the one who brought that disgusting towel into the Porcelain Palace after all. Mari didn't understand why Choi would ask if this "Riddle" girl was actually the filthy one. Mouth agape, she inquired, "Did she not bring in that ratty towel to my palace? Seriously, I should have thought that it was obvious.."

As for the girl's name, Mari murmured, "Riddle, eh? What a puzzle your parents put upon you, having only one name. So are you all named Riddle, then? How do they know who someone is trying to call?" She had of course, heard that Tom Riddle was the birth name of Lord Voldemort, but she did not make the connection. Mari was too preoccupied with other, more important things, like the fact that the old towel was still stinking up her beautiful palace.

Still unaware that she was ankle-deep in toilet water, Mari watched as Choi repaired the broken mirror. Though she still did not like the prefect, she had to appreciate that Choi as attempting to fix the palace up a bit. It was still looking quite a bit ragged after Kaegan had crashed through it. She flashed a small nod at the girl and did nothing more. If Choi did not recognize that as appreciation, it did not matter much to Mari either way.

While the girls discussed some nonsense that did not have anything to do with the most important sob story in the room, Mari let her mind flash back to that instance with Kaegan, when the Porcelain Palace had merely been known to her as the Abandoned Toilets. It seemed so long ago, when in reality it had only been a few short weeks. She looked down at her robes, noted the blood stain, and began to cry as she remembered that day. Riddle and Choi seemed to have no interest, still engaging in what was clearly a pointless conversation. Mari began to hum loudly as tears continued to run; when she was particularly bored she let out a loud wail, in hopes that that would remind the girls that she was still there. It seemed that they needed this reminder.

Choi interrupted her reverie when she told Mari to not look so happy and tossed her a towel. Mari frowned but grabbed the towel with her right, nonetheless, making sure that she did not drop her sandwich. She didn't really know why Choi had given her the towel, as she was perfectly clean and fine and had nothing wrong with her. Yes, she did have blood-stained robes, but even if she had wanted to clean them, they were too dried to wipe off, anyway. Due to the angle of her legs on the toilet, she could not see her feet and thus still did not notice the visual of her feet in the water. She was too distracted to feel wetness, either.

Come to think of it, though...yes, she had been feeling unusual. Now that she thought about it, her cheek did feel unusual, and as she motioned with the towel to wipe it, she recognized that that strange feeling had, in fact, been a crumb of bread on her cheek. Mari looked at the towel, noted the crumb, and proceeded to put it back into her mouth, where it would certainly be safe running down her digestive tract. It was the more delicious route, at least.

She stared at the towel and noted the Hogwarts crest. It was a very pompous towel; no wonder Choi had it. While Mari had been grateful that Choi had fixed the mirror in her palace, she did not wish to grace her with too many complimentary head nods, so she barked, "Where did you get this? Did your mummy make it with the Hogwarts logo on it to celebrate your precious title? Am I a prefect now cause you gave it to me, huh?"

Mari would not remember anything about how weird discussing family was for Luna, but if Luna were to react, she would smile maliciously. At this moment, though, she did not truly believe that she was a prefect because Luna had given her the towel. She fully expected Luna to say no and move on with criticizing Mari, as was usual.

She didn't have time to ponder her funny joke when Riddle asked if Mari was insulting her chocolate. Mari smirked in response. The girl had a smile on her face, but Mari sensed with trepidation that she was actually not smiling internally. "No, I actually quite like chocolate," she began softly. Then she remembered: this girl had infiltrated her palace. A small glare crept on her face, as she added, "But I am insulting the filthy towel you brought in here. It looks as though someone tried to eat it. I wouldn't trust anything that lay on there."

She took a bite of her sandwich as if in jest. The glorious sandwich had not touched anything filthy, unlike Riddle's chocolate. The turkey sandwich was the best kind of food, in Mari's opinion. The bread, if toasted, provided the best kind of texture and crunch to compliment the salty goodness of bird. Sourdough bread was her favorite, as it created a taste hard to replicate in any other food. Though this sandwich was plain other than meat and bread, Mari was quite pleased that she had been able to acquire sourdough that day. She wished that she had chosen to include a bit more mayonnaise, as her mouth was still a bit too dry for her liking, and perhaps some tomato and lettuce for more wet-crunch, but the sandwich she had was satisfactory enough. What was life without future improvements, anyway? I had to do it lol sorry

More talk about things that were of no importance. If Choi really cared about the necklace, she wouldn't have lost in the first place. Mari hummed some more, listening a bit more as she hummed, but more so wondering on how she could get these filthy people out of here and to never enter again. She needed a sign - that would be next on the agenda, unless something else of more importance arose. Mari also wondered if she could recruit someone to keep guard and prevent unwelcome visitors. Maybe a professor? They seemed to like to ward their doors off from unwelcome people.

She jerked to attention when Riddle said the locket could be hers; Mari splashed upward, breaking for a moment to wonder why water had splashed in the first place. Probably just some pipe issues, or something. "It is mine," she murmured, walking closer to Riddle. "Thank you for finding it."

Mari would ignore Riddle offering the necklace to Choi and instead attempt to snatch it. If it was truly Choi's, she wanted the power over the prefect to get her out of the Porcelain Palace. Anything was fair game; after all, Choi could be lying herself...

"At least, I'm sure her hair looked much cleaner than yours." Luna had never judged people through their looks. She cared more about personality, and how intelligent that person was. That was really unlike her, but she seriously felt like she should do it. Haynes, this girl looked like she hadn't bathed for a long, long time and asked that ridiculous question, that was why she had to answer, wasn't it? How unfortunate for Riddle, had to deal with this... toilet lover.

Yes, that really fitted Haynes, didn't it? Not that she cared about the answer anyway, since she felt like it totally fit the kid. She loved the toilet that much, calling it a palace, for idiots, then this name must really fit her. Luna had never given a nickname for another person, she should be well, happy about it. After all, the toilet lover also gave her a niceeee nickname, Fartface. Sadly, that word was too filthy so she couldn't use it to "bite" Haynes back. That was the reason why she should give Haynes a nickname that didn't have any filthy word but would be insulting when putting them together.

Oh wow, it seemed like the toilet lover didn't like the Slytherins, at least that was what she thought. Luna actually had this guessed before when they first time met for example. Both Riddle and the Hufflepuff avoided talking to her, she assumed it was because of how she was around them but now, Luna wondered if it was true. Maybe, just maybe, even Riddle was scared of Slytherins, and Haynes basically disliked all the snakes. That would make a lot of sense, to be honest. She wasn't really sure about Riddle though, the lavender hair had never seen her with another snake before.

She would back up for Riddle if it wasn't because she didn't have any interested in doing it. As long as none of them had broken any rules, she had no interested in jumping into troubles. She would just ignore the toilet cleaner- no, the toilet lover trying her best to piss the other snake off. The toilet cleaner didn't sound bad though... but toilet lover fit this kid more. Anyway, she had mentioned this before. The thing that she felt annoyed the most when she became the prefect, was that she had to cause herself into troubles. Just, too annoying. Luckily that wasn't the only thing the prefect had to do, or she would feel uncomfortable whenever people mentioned about her role.

So the reason why Riddle seemed like she was scared of her was just because of how she was usually? That wasn't unexpected, but it still felt funny hearing about it. Very well, she knew how to deal with this... Luna changed her expression on her face from coldness to kindness and gave Koko a sweet smile just like how her little brother usually did. "Don't you think...." She quickly changed her expression back like how she usually was, an unfriendly face and continued, "that was scarier?" At least, it was to her. Imagine her smiling and yelling like that to a professor, 'hey you with the pants on!', that would be a nightmare to her.

About the cannot read the emotion part, she completely ignored it. She had no intention to let people read her emotion, which was also why she would need to learn Occlumency in the future, probably. She heard it was hard to learn, but she hoped that she could do it. The feeling of being read wasn't good at all. Though, she wondered if it was that hard to read her emotion. Or was it because she found things around her uninteresting so she didn't show anything on her face? That might be the reason.

Mother? Seriously... unacceptable. Luna looked at the toilet lover, trying her best to hide how uncomfortable she felt, but failed. The way she was looking at Haynes right now, was like she just wanted to kill her. Actually, she didn't, but she did want to get out of this place as soon as possible. People in Hogwarts had never mentioned about her mother, which was why she was so bad at hiding about how uncomfortable she felt when the Hufflepuff kid mentioned her. "Shut up. Instead of using your brain to imagine those ridiculous things you had just said, use it to realize how 'beautiful' this toilet is."

She wished to become a prefect was that easy. If a prefect just needed to throw the towels from the Prefect Bathroom to the others to make them become a prefect, Luna would never be one. First of all, she didn't have good relationships with anyone. Second, she did not have interested in jumping, trying to catch the towel like a fool just to become a prefect. No way... And she once told the toilet lover the reason why the Hufflepuff kid couldn't be a prefect, how could Haynes even imagine it? "And about your question, use your brain please." Of course, no way she would let her become a prefect.

Seriously, Haynes couldn't insult Riddle like this. Both of them were ridiculous at choosing a place to eat. One ate chocolate, one ate a sandwich in the toilet. The professors should be happy that the lavender hair had never had the intention to eat at the abandoned toilet or the normal one. She was the most normal here, right...? Anyway, the Dining Hall wasn't that far away, or maybe they could go to their dorm, they were better than the toilet. But as she mentioned before, she had no interested in causing herself into more trouble, so apologize for Riddle, but she had to find a way to deal with this herself.

So Luna was not wrong, she actually forgot the necklace here. Now just to be clear, she needed to take a look at the locket first. She shouldn't get her hope too high until she saw it with her own eyes.

How lucky she was, it was actually hers. And wow, how amazing she was. Making it caught on the sink, although it was one of the things she treasured the most. She had learned a lesson, and she had already reserved the punishment, meeting the toilet lover. Luna almost became rude and took it, but Riddle stopped her from doing it. Not wrong, she needed to prove that this thing belonged to her. But how? She had always hidden it under her uniform, there was no way another person could know about it unless they... accidentally touched it or saw it, which was basically impossible, who dared stand that close to her? She would attack them or walk away before they could.

"Hers? No way, Miss Riddle, do you really think that could belong to someone...like hers?" She looked at her necklace, using her normal voice again to talk to Riddle, although it was all about mocking. But really, she was pretty surprised that Riddle could say that this belonged to that kid. Looked at the thing the Hufflepuff was wearing on her head, and the thing Riddle was holding. Totally different.

Suddenly, she remembered what happened at the Dining Hall, after meeting the toilet lover there. Right, she put the picture of her little brother there. This could prove that the necklace belonged to her. However, before she could do anything, Haynes had already made the first move. Was this her revenge? But did she know that Luna could give her detention before of "attempting to steal others' belonging"?

She held the toilet cleaner's wrist to stop her from taking the necklace. "You," she then quickly tossed it away, "do not deserve to touch my necklace. Attempting to steal it? You are braver than I thought you were. But you know what? Foolish fits this situation more." Luna took out a tissue from her bag and acting like she was wiping off something out of her hand. Like, she had just touched something really dirty.

She turned her gaze to Riddle, acting as calm as she could, "Open the locket. You will see a picture of a boy in it, that is my brother, Oliver. Is that enough proof?" Who knew that that picture could help her one day. She needed to take it back, or it would be a big problem when she needed to go back to her house. Not to mention, she doubted that Haynes could guess the password, but if the toilet cleaner could use it to teleport to her house, it would be big trouble.

However, if teleporting from Hogwarts back home was accepted, then she could prove that the necklace belonged to her. Now she needed to convince Riddle that this necklace was hers...

Ugh

Ugh ugh ugh, now she had to make people TRUST her? That sounded so hard, and so unlike her. But... she should see what Riddle's decision first. Trying to take the necklace would just bring her into trouble.

Just because I said you were bad does not mean that I am mean. It shows that I am honest.

Only 1.5k. I'm sorry. I'm tired.
Kill me now, Koko thought angrily, seeing it unfold. The Hufflepuff was most certainly insane. She wasn't too sure what to think of Luna. She probably wouldn't ever be. Prefects were unpredictable, especially ones with purple hair and purple eyes. That certain shade of lavender just screeched the word evil. Koko's golden eyes just yelled treasure, and she definitely was a treasure.

Of course, that was only once you got to know her. Before that, she was... well... not a treasure. She was like a lump of coal. Perhaps a burning lump of coal, to be precise. But some people said that if one kept a lump of coal in their tight fist, it could turn into a diamond. That was what Koko was, a diamond in the rough. She just wasn't there yet.

Koko just stood her ground, watching with anxious eyes. She remembered her friends, all of them Slytherins, and she wondered why she was so scared of this one prefect. But she had already voiced her reasoning, even if it was stupid reasoning, so there was no going back now. The Hufflepuff began to talk about how her parents must have been total blockheads or something, and Koko was tempted once more to unsheathe her knife. But... The prefect stopped her once more. Stupid prefect.

H-holy shit. That was weird, Koko thought as Luna's face appeared as kind for a moment. It was all a mask, Koko knew that, but it was about to influence some other emotion inside of Koko. An emotion that she didn't want the prefect to see. "Yes," Koko replied, somewhat tentatively. Yes, it was goddamn terrifying to see someone else with masks. Especially when Koko didn't know what those masks were yet.

It was fine being emotionless. It was fine. Koko would try not to care, but she would probably fail. At least most of the people here were too stupid to even know how to work the few masks that they might have in their possession. Very few of them seemed skilled enough to possibly be puppet masters, like Koko was suspecting Luna might be. All prefects or professors could easily be puppet masters, but Koko wasn't stupid enough to be a marionette. No, she herself could try and be a puppet master. If that would work... Hm... Things to think about...

If the insane Hufflepuff was a prefect now, did that mean that Koko was? Koko wasn't an idiot; she didn't think so. She would make a good prefect, but she didn't want to be a prefect with Luna and That Other Girl Who Hadn't Introduced Herself. Koko would have to come up with a nickname for her... How about Bloodbath? That sounded nice, seeing as the girl loved a place that was bathed in blood. Still, Koko could come up with a beautiful Italian nickname that would be very rude. She probably wouldn't use it. Probably. Anyways, it was merda viso. It was too rude to use... But it was true!!!

"Bloodbath, if you're a prefect, than so am I. And I'm not, so why don't you use the little money you've acquired to go buy yourself a brain," Koko quipped. She could be rude, sure, but at least she wasn't calling the Hufflepuff a shit face. She could have. She didn't, though. What if the prefect knew Italian?

That wouldn't be good for the twelve-year-old snake. She would be busted. But she didn't think it was probable for Luna to know that particular language. Koko wondered if any of the blood would ever be cleaned up from that devastating scene, and she doubted it. More blood for Bloodbath to bathe in. Koko, however, wouldn't be taking a step in it. She was a smart Slytherin!

Koko glanced back at Luna, realising just how uncomfortable the other snake looked. There it was, a tiny show of some feeling other than cold nothingness. It wasn't much of an improvement, but any improvement was welcome. Koko straightened her back and looked down at the other two - she had never thought of herself as tall, but apparently she was. She towered over Luna, and she wondered why she was scared of such a short bean... It was because she didn't care about how one looked, but rather how one acted, and Luna was acting particularly scary.

It wasn't that Koko was too scared or anything. She was fearless! Well... Not really. She pretended to be fearless. Pretending was fun. Pretending let you escape a world full of prejudice and fear and dive into your own world of flowers, riddles, and joy. Not that even a fake world was all rainbows and unicorns...

Oh, so had Luna been lying about the necklace? God, why was this so difficult? Koko didn't trust either of them; clearly, she couldn't make a good decision! Until Luna suggested a way to have evidence. Oh...? Well... He would probably have similarly coloured hair... Or eyes... Koko opened the locket, raising it above her head so she could take a look but the others couldn't grab it. It was true... But how did Koko know that Luna wasn't lying? "Sure. Say that you are telling the truth. What then? How will you prevent Bloodbath from getting it?" Koko's golden eyes glinted with something that she herself was unsure of. Was it mischief? Was it just distrust? Or was it something else? She wasn't sure.

"As for you, Bloodbath, if you're telling the truth, how do you know that Fridge here won't make a foul play and give you detention? She might even hex you! I would suggest for you both to be very careful." Of course, now Koko had a nickname for Luna: Fridge. It would probably get her killed someday, but it was nowhere as bad as Fartface. That word itself was filthy. "By the way, Fridge, your brother looks nice. Mine are evil." She said it casually. They weren't actually evil, but Koko was convinced that they were. She needed nicknames for them as well.

And then Koko remembered something. Bloodbath had begun to speak kindly before she had brought up the damn towel again. Koko picked it up with her free hand (she dropped the empty chocolate wrapper) and she chucked the ratty towel out the window. "Are you happy now?" Koko asked Bloodbath pointedly. Koko was glaring now; she was also on her tiptoes. How dare Bloodbath try and grab the necklace like that! And Koko had seen Fridge inch towards it before stopping herself... Good girl, Fridge, Koko thought to herself, her lips still in a firm line that represented concentration. Her eyes darkened at the prospect that Bloodbath might have noticed her knife as she moved, and Koko's face slowly became paler by the second. That wouldn't be good. What if she reported to Fridge and Koko got a detention!?!

God, Prefects were annoying. They could deal out detention like Fridge dealt out ice and water... and Bloodbath also dealt out water - in the form of tears. "Why were you crying?" Koko asked sharply. She wanted to stab the Hufflepuff. It was almost the end of the year and now her robes were ruined. Koko would someday steal some of Bloodbath's galleons to buy some new robes. Koko's little pale fists were clenched, but she didn't appear to be angry. She was frustrated. Plus, it was also beginning to have a bit of a stench in here... Koko wanted to jump out the window once more, but she stopped herself.

Oh, the joy of jumping out a window. She could feel the wind rushing through her hair, she could fly, for heaven's sake, and she could escape this chaos. But the only thing was that she would still have the necklace. That would make her get a detention. Otherwise Fridge probably wouldn't care if Koko leapt out a window... If she could earn Fridge's trust, make Fridge like a fireplace instead of a refrigerator, Koko would be pleased with herself. She would have another Slytherin friend, and she would no longer have any reason to jump out a window or perhaps even be scared of Fridge. Koko could pretend to be a prefect and they could deal out detentions together...

Koko's fantasy disappeared when she realised that she had let her guard down. With the hand no longer holding anything, Koko whipped out her wand and pointed it at the person nearest to her, which happened to be Bloodbath Sorry, Mari!. Koko wouldn't do anything, but she would have the bather in blood at her mercy, which was honestly a wonderful feeling to have. Koko could never have a prefect at her mercy, but someone else would do for now. All Koko needed was that feeling of superiority, and that was what she had.
