A Trip To... What Was It Called Again?  PV   Cl
This thread is open for the first 2 people who join. So River + 2 others.
Looking forward to seeing you in the thread!
Finally, after a long while of searching for answers, River had made her way onto platform 9 3/4. Who in the world makes the platfrom entrance by running through a wall. And especially without giving any instructions about it? She wondered, a little annoyed, but also relieved that she’d made it in time.

She looked around on the platform, ugh, so many humans... Her anxiety kicked in, she just wanted to get on the train, even though she knew, the train would probably not provide any safety from other people. It would most likely be quite packed too. Well, she had nothing to linger on the platform for, her parents weren’t there, and she didn’t have any other reason not to get on. So she started heading in direction of the train, and got on as quickly as possible.

Getting on the train was no easy task, as students upon strudens all tried squeezing aboard the train all at the same time.
«Ugh!», River was almost pushed off balance by a student who seemed in a hurry to get on. Jeez, we all want to get on, have some patience.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity surrounded by others, she had gotten on the train and to a nice and calmer part of the train. She’d already walked past multible compartmens, so far, none were free. Preparing herself to walk in to some strangers, she actually walked upon a free compartment. No students, no bags, just silence.

River got in, and put her suitcase in the bag compartment over the seats. She sat down by the window, closed her eyes, and took a nice deep breath. Well there she was, almost in disbelief of the entire concept of magic, on her way to the school of just that...magic.... I wonder if this is actually real or not, the whole world of magic and the school... the school, what was it called again? Something with an animal right? She looked thoughtfully out the window, almost mentally preparing herself for someone to enter on her at any moment. How idiotic isn’t it that I don’t even remember the name of where I’m going... Was It something with Porcupine maybe..?

Camille smiled broadly as she pushed her cart through the station. Joy coursed through her veins as much as blood did. A group of men in dark navy suits passed her, making her have to steer a bit to avoid them. So many Muggles... Nonetheless, nothing could dampen her mood: She was going to Hogwarts! Her excitement propelled her along until the stood across from the barrier. There it is...

"Camille, love, make sure it's 9 and 10," her mother gently reminded her.

"Yes, I know," Camille assured her mother. "I'm not going to be like Sierra her first year." The young witch giggled again as the memory entered her head.
"Mummy, Mummy, I'm going to Hogwarts!" Sierra exclaimed excitedly.
"Yes, now, watch where you're going dear, Please don't run into any of the Muggles..." Mrs. Eve said, steering her daughter away from the edge of the platform.
"Mummy, look, it's the platform!" Sierra squealed, unable to contain her excitement.
"Sierra, no! That's-!" Before her mother could finish, the girl collided violently with the barrier between platforms 8 and 9.
"Oh..." she moaned, picking herself up before she hurriedly gathered her things. "That's
not the platform, then..."
Camille shook her head. Her silly older sister. Who'd ended up in Ravenclaw and somehow turned her clumsiness around somehow.

"Don't worry, I know it's between platforms 9 and 10," Camille repeated, double checking so misfortune didn't strike the Eve family twice.

"Oh alright. But you know a mother is allowed to worry," Mrs. Eve sighed knowingly.

Camille laughed quietly and headed towards the barrier. A few Muggles jostled her a bit, but she remained steady until-

The young girl's eyes widened. There before her stood the red and black engine in all it's glory. "Oh, wow," she breathed. A few brief moments later, her mother appeared again behind her.

"You'd better hurry up or you'll be late..." Mrs. Eve pressed.

"I'm not going to be-" A loud whistle resounded across the platform, cutting Camille's sentence off mid-defense. "That's- Oh!" Camille's eyes widened and her mother laughed at her.

"You should go. Don't forget to write!" she called as Camille rushed towards the train.

"I won't forget!" Camille called back, hoping that she sounded as sure as she felt. She didn't exactly have the best memory, but she tried. The whistle blew again, and Camille waved one last time to her mother before boarding quickly. To her dismay, most of the compartments were full. She finally found one with only one girl sitting in it. Camille carefully knocked on the glass to get her attention, then opened the door. "Hello. May I sit here?"

I apologize for late replies, I’m heading into exams and finals, so I’m quite busy Irl lately :sweatingbullets:
Bag placed safely at her feet, reading material at hand, and the quiet of her lonely compartment, River sat and looked out the window of the train. She could see all the people hurrying along, sending their children off to some place where they would be learning the use of magic. I wonder how many of these parents went to this school? River wondered, as she laid her eyes upon a young looking lady, with black curly hair, hurrying toward a boy. She handed him a bag, gave him a quick hug and patted his back.
River thought of her father, and felt a slight sting in her chest. I wonder what he’s up to right now? Most likely, he was locked up in his study, like usual. Trying to forget the fact that the world actually exists, and he is supposed to live in it. Acting like he’s not here, in this reality.
She started wondering how it would have been like, to have someone care enough, to actualy follow her to the train. Seeing her off on this great adventure she was setting foot into, but as always, she was alone.

Well, alone, until a slight knock sounded from the glass doors, leading out to the hallway. River turned her head up to see who were there. It was a girl, she looked to be about the same age as River, and since she didn’t have a group, she probably was a first year too.

River sighed quietly, getting mentally ready for company. Not that she didn’t like company, but she was absolutely not one considered good, at making friends, or being soical for that sake.
She looked at the girl, pushed a strand of red hair out of her face, and gave her a slight nod, signaling that she was welcome to sit with her on this ride.

Hope it's ok if I join! RPing as a second year, I just realized I never RPed this for it. Also, edited for grammar/spelling.

The start of another year. As usual, it starts in a way most annoying for Hengist: crowded. His parents brought him as far as Diagon Alley, which was seemingly always crowded. They went to a few stores with him, then they both had to get to work. He was ok with this. After all, this was his second year to Hogwarts and he knew what he was doing by now. After saying good bye, he finished up his school shopping and headed off to King's Cross.

Also, just like last year, it was absolutely packed with muggles. He wished he had more time to observe them, especially the ones on their 'smart phones', as his sister said they were called. He had no idea what made them so smart. They couldn't even do anything without being touched. But, the train waited for no student and Hengist needed to be on it. So he took his trolley and headed off to the platform.

After moving through the fake wall (even after experiencing it a few times, it made him flinch every single time), he made his way to board the Hogwarts Express, and yet again, full of people. It seemed like a good deal of the students were already aboard and Hengist worried, like last year, that all the cabins would be full again. Most seemed full, but he managed to find one that only had two girls in it. 'I should see if there are any others' he thought, not wanting to invade on the girl's private space. Having a sister made him very aware that girls like their space.

Unfortunately, after investigating, all the other cabins were, indeed, full. He worried that all the time he wasted looking for a different cabin meant that the one he found that had space was now filled. Luck was with him, though, and it was still just the two girls. Still, he felt awkward wanting to sit in a cabin with only girls and was considering finding a seat in one of the open cars that was relatively isolated. Just then, the train jerked into motion, causing his bag to knock on the door, both girls looked right at him. 'Great, now I look like I was staring at them, being creepy' Hengist thought. He tried to salvage the small amount of dignity he had left and made an odd wave and nodded his head in a way that implied if he could come in and sit with them.

Heroes don't exist and even if they did, I wouldn't be one.

Of course you can join Hengist! I am truly sorry for the really late reply, but things are very hectic lately. I’ll have more time now though, so they’ll be a little more consistent from now on.
River sat quietly in the corner, wondering what to expect from the year to come. Was it all a big lie from her fathers side? Or was she actually going to be heading off to learn something as strange as magic? Really, River wasn’t sure what to believe any more, especially after her trip to that peculiar place called Diagon Alley. She could remember the name of that place fine, but the name of the actual school she’d be going to, was completely out of her brain.

River smiled carefully at the girl who had approached the compartment. She really wasn’t sure what to say, or even if she should start a conversation at all. It definitely wasn’t something River was good at, that was a fact.

Human interaction had absolutely never been a strong side for River, but she’d try her best, at least most of the time.
As she took a breath, about to introduce herself, River’s attention was pulled back to the door of the compartment. There was a boy standing there. Just looking in... He didn’t seem to have noticed River sending him a glance, as she quickly adverted her eyes back towards the floor of the train.
When she looked back up again, the boy was gone. I hope there are more spaces left, River thought, as she didn’t really feel like having more people around. Humans... I believe there are too many of them on this planet.

Before River had time to begin talking again, the boy had reapeared outside of the sliding door. Is he just watching us..?
This time, River would not look away. If he was snooping in on them, she was going to keep her sight strong, and not let her eyes yield away.

He made a slight wave, and nodded toward them. River took it as a signt that he asked to come inside. I guess I can’t keep others from entering... She thought to herself, and nodded back. A small smile showed on her lips, perhaps a little forced.
Still, her expression and nod said, come on in.
