Dollar for Your Sadness
The short green eyed boy made his way down Diagon Alley almost looking for something to spend money on for no apparent reason. He turned towards a shop reading it's name curiously. His Father followed closely behind Rhys obviously irritated that he was looking for a pet rather than a book. He opened the door to reveal smiling faces of both happy children and the two elderly people smiling happily. "Good afternoon, how are you?" The woman said turning to the door. She was a lot shorter than Rhys would think a shop keeper was. "We are doing well." His father would respond to the kind lady as the small boy looked around curiously.
Owls were adorable to Rhys. He already had a cat back home, so he figured he wouldn't be allowed to get another. He was in awe by the snowy owl. However when he got a little too close it proceeded to make an alarm sound that he wasn't a fan of. The arctic owl was rather nice as well, they had always been his favorite breed of owls. It's white feathers glistened in the light before it made a noise along with most of the other owls at random times. He shook his head slightly. No owls for him, they were simply too loud.
The boy made his way to the next area of pets. Toads. He never understood why someone would want a pet toad. Anyone who had one usually had it jumping out of their hands. He never knew why people found them interesting. He decided to look just in case. Out of all of them he only showed slight interest in the Spotted Toad.
The next choice were Pygmy Puffs. He had absolutely no interest in them and made way for the rats. Rats were like toads to him, he simply didn't understand why someone would have one as a pet. He paced his way around the shop heading back to the glistening cages of owls. At least he wouldn't have to walk to the Owlery when he wanted to send things. He frowned slightly. So many choices, yet he didn't like any of them. The white haired lady made her way over to him as her husband helped someone else.
"Having trouble?" She questioned with a smile. She reminded him of his grandmother, with a kind attitude and floral print dresses they would probably get along with each other. After all, his grandma did love animals as well. "Perhaps take a look at the cats? They are quite interesting." The lady stated. "But I already have one at home, so I wouldn't be able to get another." He sighed. The lady headed back towards the counter with a smile that seemed a bit curious to him.
He made his way over to the cats instantly adoring each one of them. His eyes fell on a bengal kitten that was playing with it's tail. "This one!" He cheered as his dad sighed, visibly annoyed with his choice. "Somethings, are just meant to be." The shop keeper said with a gentle tone. He didn't understand fully, it was almost like she knew the exact right one for him.
