Stars? Where?
The night was cold and silent, and the only sound Kira could hear as she stood atop the astronomy tower was the occasional hoot of an owl from the distance. The constant breeze of cool night air blew against Kira, goose bumps prominent on her bare arms. She stood, bare feet on the cold floors of the tower, in her Hogwarts uniform. She had discarded her Slytherin robes and jumper before coming here, and was now only left with her white shirt, her sleeves rolled up, and her pleated skirt.
She walked towards the edge of the tower, the breeze becoming stronger. Her strawberry blonde hair whipped behind her, and Kira had to squint her eyes against the wind. She leaned against the railing which kept the students from falling off the tower and scanned the view laid out before her. She could spot the great lake, the beautiful mountains in the distance, and the edges of the Forbidden Forest.
A moment of still silence passes before Kira shifts her position. She turns around and leans her back against the railing, propping her elbows on it as well for support, and leans her head back to get a view of the night sky.
Her peacock blue eyes scan the dark sky, but can't find any trace of the millions of beautiful specks of light that were meant to dot the sky. A fellow student of hers had told her that the view of the stars was 'absolutely breathtaking' from atop the astronomy tower. But standing there now, her head tilted up in expectation towards the night sky, Kira couldn't find any stars. All she could see were dark, thick clouds that covered up the beauty of the night. She couldn't help but feel disappointed, as she was looking forward to a night of stargazing. But it was not to be.

Stars? Where?
Horace came running up the stairs well dressed in his robe exhausted after all the classes he had the whole day. He was a bit confused to see someone up here as usually he always came up here to read a book or practice his spells in solitude to relax.
He gets to the railing stretching in the breeze as he looks up the night sky. He starts reading his book leaning on the railing. "I never saw you around here before?" he asks the girl as he reads his book.
He liked talking to people and making friends but he usually couldn't or wouldn't for two reasons. First he was a Vargas so that gave him those stereotypical looks whenever he met someone even if he is a ravenclaw his family was quite famous for its exploits in the dark times when you know who was roaming free but times have changed since then no one fears them now for their past but they still treat them as a rich pureblood wizarding family. Second Horace is quite skilled at spells which actually makes him a bit embarrassed because he is often accused of bragging which is not what he wants so now he just tries to keep it to himself.

Stars? Where?
Kira blinked up at the dark expanse of sky, hoping there to be at least a few stars willing to come out. She sighed as the dark expanse stayed. . . dark, and wondered if this was the time to get back to the girl's dorms.
The sound of walking caused Kira to look back down from the starless sky. She looked around, and her eyes spotted another student walking towards her. She lightly sighed in relief, as she had thought for a moment that it was a professor who had caught her.
She watched as the boy, his robes noting him as a Ravenclaw, walked up to the railing and leaned on it with his book in hand, and began reading. "I never saw you around here before?" The boy spoke to her, and she nodded in reply, realising she has never seen him around before either.
"Neither have I. What's your name, Ravenclaw?" She tilted her head in question at the boy, her habit of calling students by their houses showing. She had a small feeling that she recognised him from somewhere. . . But Kira couldn't exactly remember why. Perhaps he belonged to a famous family, or Kira's met one of his relatives before. She wouldn't be surprised if it was the latter, as her mother used to bring home many important people she met from the council, or anywhere else really.

Horace read as the cold night breeze flew his hair relaxing him after all day. He then looks up at the girl as if there is something wrong because he is not used to get counter questioned when he asked something but its not like he was angry instead he was happy to be addressed normally. He smiles at the girl "You know students are not allowed to be here after the class right?" He taunts her "what if a professor saw you roaming around at night?". He was quite confident in his words as if he wasn't breaking the same rule himself as he goes back to reading his book.
He reads intently learning the spells which seemed quite advanced seeing he is a first year and the seal on the book shows its from the restricted section. He is quite a confident rule breaker. Suddenly his eyes glint and he looks up with a rather mischievous face "By the way I forgot to introduce myself I am Horace.......Horace Vargas!" He says with a soft chuckle and waits to see her response will she change her behavior when she knows she is talking to a Vargas or not. He half wished she doesn't mind him being a Vargas and he half knew everyone changes when they know.

"You know students are not allowed to be here after the class right? What if a professor saw you roaming around at night?" The boy playfully mocked her, and she chuckled in reply. "I should ask you the same thing."
Kira looked over the boy's shoulder to peer into the contents of the book held in his hands. Her eyes glazed over the words written on them and recognised them as advanced spells, the same ones her mother used to try teaching Kira. She looked at the book's cover and noticed the seal. From the restricted section? Nice.
"By the way I forgot to introduce myself. I am Horace.....Horace Vargas!" The boy said, and Kira immediately recognised the name.
The Vargas Family. A twinkle of recognition flashed in Kira's eyes, and she remembered her mother telling her about his family. Kira was instructed by her mother to befriend anyone coming from the Vargas family, and other people from high or well known families. Apparently, the Vargas family was famous for their exploits during the dark times, just like Kira's own family, and befriending a member of the Vargases would do good for the family 'business.'
Kira turned her head back to the sky, a small smile on her face.
"Nice to meet you Horace. I'm Kira Callaghan."

"Nice to meet you Horace. I am Kira Callaghan." the girl replied. A Callaghan he has heard of the name before he is sure of it but he cant remember where as he usually paid no attention to his parents family friends and all.
"You don't have to worry about me i have my tricks So no rules for me i can roam wherever i want whenever i want" he boasted with a smile of pride. "Anyways it seems like its a cloudy night this seems more depressing than peaceful to me What about you i think you are here for the same reason as i am right? a bit of peace and quite." He asked and his book started vibrating a bit and he closed and kept it in his robe.
After managing to keep the book in he looks up at her "don't worry it's nothing the book will be fine it just gets irritated sometimes" he tries his best to lie but he just can't "uh.......fine....its Dark Magic! you know its not like i am doing curses i am just learning about them as i say keep your friends close and your enemies closer" he says with a guilty smile scratching his head "..........You won't tell anybody right?".
