Rivalry
Astoria was doing all that she could to keep on track now with her assignments. To go from having primary school as a muggle girl to advance magical assignments as a witch, it was a transition that she hadn't had the opportunity to fully grasp yet.
With her classes all starting at once, Astoria did what she could to try and stay on top of her assignments. She knew that one little slip will cause her a lot of turmoil and she didn't want to let her parents and her grandmother down. She wanted to be the best that she could be. Is that too much pressure for an eleven year old?
Books balancing in her arms and notebooks, quills and ink in her bag, Astoria made her way to the Great Hall. She had to get out of her dormitory and get some sort of fresh air. The outside was thundering and storming. There was no way that she was going to be able to do her work outside unless she wanted to get her homework all wet. She made her way down the aisle that was formed by the Hufflepuff table on one side and the Gryffindor table on the other. She kept bumping into people and she felt her cheeks flare up with embarrassment.

Rivalry
Veronica couldn’t believe what she was learning. She’d only been at Hogwarts for a few weeks now, and everything was quite amazing to her. Charms, herbology, DADA, even transfiguration enthralled her. She’d hearf story’s from her older siblings about their favorite classes, but none had mentioned Care of Magical Creatures. That was the one class that she was looking forward to.
Heading towards the great hall, charms book in hand, Veronica needed to get some studying done before her next class. As she entered the hall, she noticed all of the students that were milling about. She’d found the quickest rout to her doing next to one of the first years that she had previously met...Rowan? She didn’t start off on the right foot with him, but she could tell that he could tolerate her presence, besides she wouldn’t be talking to him.
Veronica made her way through the crowd, between passing Hufflepuffs and fellow Gryffindors of all ages. As she went along she mumbled, ‘excuse me’s and ‘I’m sorry’s as she pushed past to get to the spot. Out of the corner of her eye she caught a glimpse of another Gryffindor who spited the place that she was heading for. Veronica picked up her pace and reached the spot at the same time as the girl before her. Unfortunately she collided with the young girl’s books. “OUCH!” Veronica rubbed her forehead as she glared at the girl slightly. “Sorry, but I got here first. There’s a spot down the way. Why don’t you go there? Away from me...” the last part she mumbled to herself. She attempt to smile through gritted teeth. The girl annoyed her slightly and she wasn’t quite sure why just yet. Something about her aura...maybe?
