The Homework Debate
Juliette was currently crouched over her homework in the corner of the library. She was frantically writing, her quill making soft scratchy noises as she went. Homework for her was usually pretty easy. She loved to learn new things and could easily get lost in books for hours. This potions homework, however, was giving her trouble.
She sat back and stretched her long lanky arms above her head, sighing heavily. She hated when all the professors gave them long essays due around the same time. It stressed her out endlessly. She ran a shaking hand through her hair, pulling at the curls thoughtfully. She felt like this essay was getting nowhere. She looked around, wondering if anyone else was working on the same essay. She wouldn't mind having a conversation about it. She peered down at her essay, thinking.
She didn't end up thinking about her essay for to long. She got lost in thinking about home and how much she missed running around with her younger siblings. She didn't think she would miss them because she was usually stuck babysitting them most of the time but she couldn't wait to see them at then end of the year. She missed painting everyday by the pond, swimming, not worrying about anything and so much more. She loved Hogwarts but she was exhausted. All the homework she was doing was keeping her up late at night until her perfectionist self was satisfied.
She didn't notice but she had started to doodle on her essay and groaned. She had been doodling a barn owl and stared it. She put her head in her hands and took a deep breath.

The Homework Debate
Midas quickly paced into the library, grasping onto his books and his bag which seemed as if they were going to crash out of his hands any second. He dropped a few books, and quickly reached to pick them up. There was no way he was going to be able to keep his books in his hands any longer. Glancing around, he spied one of the few open tables in the corner of the library, and dashed over there, practically dragging his bag. Plopping the bag down, he pulled out his potions essay, as well as a quill and ink jar.
Barely noticing the quiet girl in the far edge of the corner, he began to try and work. After some time, he remarked "Standard Ingredient, as well as... As well as what?" What was the next ingredient. Midas began to wish he had actually taken notes in class instead of goofing off with the people around him. "And to think potions was once my favorite class..." he angrily whispered, while pressing the tip of his quill hard into the paper, causing a large in-blot. He kept on trying to think of what the missing ingredient was, but with no success.
Midas quickly realized that this was pointless, and got up from his seat. He stalked around the shelves, looking for a potions section, before reaching the corner where the other girl sat. She seemed to be a depressed mood, and he glanced down at her paper. It was covered in doodles, but he glanced at the title. Potions. "What a surprise..." he muttered under his breath "another student bored of the curriculum. Just like me..." He turned his head away, and began to grab a book that read Magical Drafts and Potions. Hopefully it was a newer edition than the ridiculously old and torn copy he had.
He had almost grasped it in his hand before nearly dropping the book onto the girl's head. Thankfully, it landed a few inches next to her, and he quickly scooped it up while whispering a quick apology. "Sorry for the interruption!" As he began to turn away before he could be any more embarrassing, he realized that the girl had the same recipe as he needed for his essay. It was Standard Ingredient and... Valerian Sprigs? That didn't seem right... Sure, Midas might not have taken notes, or really even looked in his textbook, but he didn't remember Professor Nagal talking about Valerian Sprigs. "Better correct her, right?" He tapped the girl on the shoulder, and asked "Are you sure that's right?" while pointing to the recipe. "I don't believe the professor said anything about Valerian Sprigs. You might want to check your sources before submitting that essay." Of course, she wouldn't even be able to submit it with all the doodles on the bottom, anyway.
