Dear Penelope,
I hope this letter doesn't get to you, I mean I hope that you don't live at the orphanage anymore. I haven't spoken to anyone from there in years but I still remember you, cause you weren't bad like the other kids there. I know you probably forgot about me, but I just needed someone who wasn't my parents to write to, someone who is a wizard, because I'm pretty sure we can't send letters to muggles. Not that I really want to anyway.
I'm at Hogwarts now, but my parents never went there, they were born in America like me. They went to Ilvermony, and sometimes I think going there would've felt better. My American accent surprises some people here, especially since I'm going to school in Scotland and everyone here has one of those accents, like Irish, British, Scottish, and I think Welsh. I've been here for three years and I'm still trying to get use how it is here. It's different living in a muggle place than being surrounded by wizards all the time in England.
I should tell you about Hogwarts. It's nice here, the castle is really huge and I feel like there's a lot of secret places they don't want us to see...and I want to find them. I'm not sure what else there is to do besides school work. I like transfiguration, charms, and potions, but I've only just started learning them.
I'm not use to writing letters, but I guess I should ask about how you're doing. What's Ilvermony like, do you like it there? Is it really competitive? I wish Hogwarts could go against Ilvermony in Quidditch.
I don't think you're going to reply anyways, but I'm still sending this out to make sure. I hope you're okay.

HELLO! This is so suprising, I can't believe it! I thought I would never hear from you again! I'm actually living with my older sister, the one who I thought was lost, too. So much stuff has happened since you left, but yes, I'm not at Clare House anymore, the owl just came to the owlery at Ilvermony. How did you know that I was in Pukwudgie?
I'm glad that you got into Gryffindor, I heard it's the House of the brave and daring, which is great because you fit just right in, I hope. Well besides the fact that you said they treat you weird because of your accent, but I think you should just wear it as a trophy, that you're different and unique, because you are.
My favorite classes are Defense Against the Dark Arts and Herbology, they're really interesting, and I hope to become a professor of Herbology when I graduate. Ilvermony is really cool, I have a lot of fun her, it's different from being with muggles, I feel like I'm around people who understand me more.
A lot of things happened since the Clare House. Bonnie, David, Uriah, Isaiah, and Lesley left, they have Foster parents or some went back to their parents...you know that wasn't an orphanage, right? Well, it was just one, it was for kids who had problems at home and couldn't be with their parents. I heard Miss Margret mention you last time I saw her, she said you had a strange case, but I didn't want to be in your business, I know you hate that...
I hope you're having a great time there, and I'm really happy you sent me a letter! You should send your parents one though, if you haven't, I'm sure they're worried about you, even if they're just your adopted ones...

Oh my GOSH. I can't believe you answered, wow. I tried to owl before the end of the month but I was busy with school, it's actually more interesting than I thought, but that doesn't matter, I'm sure I'll be great at all the work, I'm no slacker. I like Defense Against the Dark Arts too, I want to be the greatest witch who gets rid of all the dark wizards, because who needs them anyway? My mom is scared of them, she says one they might attack and cause so much destruction and pain that even obliviating can't help. I know that won't happen though, I'll get stronger enough now and cast the most powerful spells to stop them, I know it.
I knew you were in Pukwudgie because a lucky guess. You act just like one of them, back before I moved and when I thought I was going there I did research so I could know which House I would get into. I think I would've gotten Thunderbird, that's what my dad said, and he went there so he's probably right. Anyway, Ilvermony sounds cool, I hope you enjoy it there and aren't bored or anything.
I also knew I would get into Gryffindor, it's a no brainier. Both my parents were in there, although my dad said he'd probably get in Slytherin if he had just did a few more pranks, but that's not even how it works.
I have one request: tell me Miss Margaret said! I need to know, it might be about my parents, you know.
I gotta go now, I have a lot of studying I want to do for History, it's interesting, I want to learn as much as I can to become great. Owl me again!
