Near Miss
I had only realised in the last 5 minutes that we had a class now. This was our first astronomy class and it was scheduled at 8:30. As I finally reached the top of the astronomy tower, the entire rest of the class was already there, waiting for me. Panting and sweating, I began to think of an excuse as to why I was late but before I could open my mouth, Pro. Hutchinson had already started the class.
"Hi! I'm your Astronomy teacher, Professor Hutchinson. Today we will take it in turns searching through this telescope for a star I will assign each of you, to let me see your abilities. Line up in height order."
I, being very small, was at the back of the line. As everyone progressed, the people who had finished left, which made me annoyed being last. After what seemed to be an eternity, I was next in line and the boy in front of me seemed to be very unsteady. As he was too small for the telescope, he had to extend his left leg and balance only on his toes, holding his right leg up. Very quickly, he began to wobble. As he was so close to the edge, I was very scared for him, even though he was calm. I began to be very nervous because Pro. Hutchinson was on the other side of the room, not watching and no one else was there. I turned to inform the professor that this was unsafe, but snapped my neck back forwards when the boy in front of me let out a feint squeal. He had fallen down and was dangling by a finger. I swiftly went to give him my hand, however, he slipped. I quickly fastened my wand and screamed "Arresto Momentum"
In the discussion, finish the story.
