A Wet Classic
While passing across the Lake the day before Jeno had carefully studied the castle. The view from the boats was excellent, it made the school look pleasant, safe, and like they were going to a hospitable place, which was most likely the goal. It had been night then so the starry sky added to the splendor, and Jeno very much liked looking up at what lay beyond the Earth.
Today was a nice day to be outside, and she had rested well, considering that yesterday had been mostly exciting due to the Sorting Ceremony and eating dinner for the first time at Hogwarts. It was the second day of her life at the castle and so far so good. She had studied and observed everyone around her, making notes about them here and there. So far the deepest conversation she'd had was about which corridor lead to the bathrooms, and that was with a prefect. Her mind wasn't dwelling on any formulating plans at the moment so she'd decided to take a stroll near the Lake, just to get a breath of air.
And the air felt very good on her skin. She had only opened the door a crack when the wind blew and carried the scent of Autumn into her nostrils. She felt the corner of her lip rise in enjoyment as she pushed through the door and walked outside. Seeing the grass made her want to throw off her shoes and socks and run barefoot around the lawn like how she did back home in Scotland, only the grass was much taller there and her foot was often left scarred from rocks and other things.
Jeno stared at the Great Lakes, her long brown hair whipping around her face like tails. She was about to move along, lost in thought, when her eye caught on the sight of someone near the Lake shore. It being a magical school, Jeno knew that strange, dangerous things could lay in the depths of the water and she would never stray close to the edge unless she needed to. But the person didn't seem to consider this. Jeno studied the person a moment longer before heading over to them.
They seemed to be distressed about something, perhaps a book, if she understood correctly. Jeno brushed her hair our of her face and cleared her throat.
"Do you need help with something?" she asked, a hint of Scottish in her accent. Her voice was high and childlike, playing along well her innoccent gaze and tiny smile. "'Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.' Martin Luther King, Jr."

A Wet Classic
No, no, no! It was just supposed to be a normal, relaxing day at the lake. After his sorting ceremony, Jesse had gone to his dorm to get his things organized and study over the locations of his classes so that he wouldn't get lost later. That was the first time that he actually didn't get distracted with anything, not with his many books or comics...he just focused on making sure that his side of the room was perfect. And once he had, he took a short nap which turned into a full sleep, that he didn't wake up from until the next day. Now it was morning and he could finally start his new life at Hogwarts! He had grabbed one of his rare My Hero Academia comics, which had a protective cover on it to make sure that it didn't get ruined. It was one of the unpublished, unoffical comics that he won at a raffle and had kept since. Jesse didn't ever read it because of fear that he'd mess it up..
Looked like his worse fear had came true. He watched his comic begin to go further down the lake, it surprisingly not sinking. Only half of the protective plastic was on it, which meant it wasn't damaged. At least not yet. Jesse could feel his hands quiver and he would've even cursed if he didn't know any better. He wanted to cry for help so badly but he would feel horrible if he put his problems on someone else. Jesse then heard someone behind him, to which he looked over his shoulder, the boy blinking up at the girl with big, teary eyes. He didn't even notice how flushed he appeared and how much he was shaking. Speaking in a rather thick Scottish accent, he quickly pointed to the book, "Please help me!! My book is floating away and I don't know what to do!!" Jesse literally screamed, speaking at a mile a minute. "Please, it's limited edition and costs like-a lot of money and my parents are going to be so disappointed in me if I mess it up, I'll be disappointed in me!!" Jesse protested before splashing at the water desperately. "Come back!!" He yelled at the book through soft sobs.
