Well, what can I say about her. She's an enigma. One say she can be nice to you and the next she wont even look in your direction - it all depends on her mood, which swings more times than usual! She comes from a family who are very wealthy and is an only child, so as you can imagine she is very spoiled. If she doesn't get her own way or something that she wants, you will know about it -- she will throw the biggest fit, it's been known to scare people.
She is very self centered, she's beautiful and she knows it and will often use that to her advantage. She loves to gossip and if there's nothing to gossip about she will make something up -- the more outrageous the better. She likes to manipulate people, sometimes to get something that she wants and even sometimes for fun.
Her anger is like a ticking time bomb, she is very argumentative and will stop at nothing to win. Her anger can get triggered by anything -- so I would steer clear of her when she's having a bad day.
Her mother Esmerelda was a witch from Vallarta in Mexico but her parents were Muggles. On her 11th Birthday when they received a letter from Professor McGonagoll they put their lives on hold in Mexico and emigrated to England to support their daughters talents and sent her to Hogwarts where she met Edward ( Matilda's father ) They fell in love and within 5 years of them leaving Hogwarts Matilda was born. Both her parents had very important jobs in the Ministry and had made names for themselves ( Farnsworth being a very famous name in the Wizarding world ).
Matilda was born into money and she will not let you forget it, but being an only child made her very spoiled. Her parents loved her so very much so they didn't try to change her ( to which her other families members looked down on. ) They always encouraged her to be the best that she could be and tear down anyone in her way. Which she did. The ways of the Wizarding world where drummed into her from an early age, especially Quidditch -- so much so, that she thinks she's the best Quidditch player since Viktor Krum.
Her first magical experience was when she was very young actually, this was also when her love for attention came into play. Her mother and father were off to work, leaving her in the very capable hands of her Grandparents. Matilda though, didn't want to be there - she wanted to be with her father ( As she was and very much still is a Daddy's Girl. ) So when she started crying, she made a Thunderstorm in her Grandparents living room.
Every member of her family where in Slytherin, that's not to say that they were bad people. They just knew what they wanted, where determined and were willing to do anything to get that --- and boy did she inherit those genes --- but to add that she became slightly conceited and a little blunt and rude. To say that her family where shocked when she was sorted into Gryffindor was an understatement. She found herseld out of sorts, feeling like she didn't fit in and sort of lovely seeing as most of her friends where in Slytherin.
