Rustling Leaves
Sylvie was back on the grounds, and she felt the cold are brush against her face, and she shivered. She was close to the forbidden forest, and she was laying on a blanket she'd brought with her. It was maroon and dark green and was soft to the touch. Her hair was in a green and silver headband which held her blonde hair out of her face. She was also wearing the Slytherin uniform. Occasionally, she would look over to the forest to admire the beauty of it all.
It was silent all around since most people had already gone inside. The sun had started to set on the horizon. "I should probably head in soon. I think we aren't supposed to be out very late." Sylvie made her way off the blanket and into the snow. Her legs felt cold as she sat in the snow, folding the blanket in neat squares, and stuffing it into her bag. She heard some rustling in the forest, and she quickly looked up. Nothing. She was alone, yet it felt as if eyes were watching her. Feeling uneasy, she looked down and continued packing up, now putting her book into the bag. She heard more noise coming from the direction of the forest and she looked up again.
Sylvie looked into the forest. Her heart was racing as she looked back into the bag, and she heard the rustle of the leaves again. She quickly whipped her head up. Her eyes widened as she saw the leaves parted as if something was there, buy she saw nothing. "W-what is going on..."

Rustling Leaves
The boy wrapped his scarf around his neck tighter. Man, it was so cold. He wasn't used to this cold of temperature. The boy had pitch black hair and dark brown eyes, lined with long eyelashes. His skin almost blended in with the snow. He was wearing a white beanie and a thick winter coat over his Ravenclaw uniform. He just came out here to get his feelings and thoughts together.
This week had been so confusing. He felt like crying and laughing at the same time. Everything was so....weird, and he felt numb. He's met so many people and Min-seo had helped him come out of his shell while she was still in hers. he chuckled slightly. Min was a good friend. He shivered. He should head back soon. Miko even said he shouldn't stay out too much or he'll turn into a popsicle since he was so small. Alex smiled a little. He looked ahead and saw a girl with blond hair sitting on a blanket. He also saw a black creature with her. She looked like she couldn't see it. Then it came to him. It was a thestral. He smiled. Lucky her, she hadn't seen death. He walked over. "Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it's not there." he said and pet the creature as it nuzzled him. "I'm guessing you haven't seen death. You're lucky."

Rustling Leaves
Sylvie was slightly startled when she heard the boy speak. She looked at him. She’d never met him before. She watched as the boy seemed to pet the air. “Wait...” Sylvie said, furrowing her brows in concentration. “Is that.. a thestral?” She asked, reaching out her hand. Sylvie felt something on her hand and flinched a little, letting out a quiet high pitched yelp. She’d heard about these creatures before. They could only be seen by those who had experienced death. “Wait does that mean...” She looked back at the boy. She stayed silent for a bit as she examined him. It looked like he had black hair and brown eyes, but it was dark so she could be wrong, and the boy was slightly taller than she was. He was smiling, yet it didn’t seem like a genuine happy smile. Happy smiles have this glow about them that’s hard to replicate.
“I-I’m sorry... sorry you had to see that...” She said softly. Sylvie hadn’t seen any of her loved ones die. She’d only heard about her grandparents and people like that dying in conversation. “I kind of wish I could see it... but I don’t want anyone I know to die... actually...I know someone but I’m not going to see her for a while.” Sylvie looked at the invisible creature, trying to imagine where all its different features would be. She reached out her hand, guessing where she would find its mane and then feeling the fur in her hand. She wished she could ride it, but knowing wild creatures, they usually don't like being ridden. She focused back on the boy, thinking about what to say next. "W-what were they like if you don't mind me asking...."

Ah yes I'm a book XD (just a spelling error don't worry)
Alex smiled down at her. "Correct. It is a thestral. Only can be seen by people that have seen death." he said. The boy was quite elegant, heck, even his posture. He chuckled as she touched the thestral's leg and yelped. He offered a hand to her to help her up to pet the creature, although she couldn't see it. She seemed quite nice, only a little shorter than him, the Asian boy being short himself. He kept petting the creature and it nuzzled him while he chuckled. He looked back at the blonde girl with a sad smile. "It's alright, no need to apologize. It's happened, there's nothing that could've helped, sadly." he said. Nothing. She already knew she was going to die. She wanted to leave. The pain was so severe for her. He tried not to think about it. He turned back to the girl again. She asked what they were like. He looked away. "My mother......was an extraordinary woman. She was the one who taught me the things I know. Dance, piano, singing, all of it. I...I was the last one to see her alive." he said quietly.

XD Yup. You're definitely is a book
Sylvie felt bad for the boy. It must've been hard losing his mom. Sylvie wouldn't bat an eye if her mom died in a hole, but it seemed like he was actually fond of his mother. She sighed, wrapping her arms around the boy so she was hugging him. She quickly let go, looking down at her feet. "Shoot, did I make him feel uncomfortable? What if he doesn't like hugs." She made eye contact with him, pretending she wasn't in the middle of a panic attack. "I'm sorry if you don't like hugs. It just..." She held her left arm with her right as she looked down. "It just looked like you could use a hug." She smiled warmly, hoping he didn't think she was weird.
Sylvie looks at the invisible thestral, and it felt as though it was breathing on her face. Its breath made her hair blow back as she closed her eye. She opened one of them as she reached back out, missing about two times before she found it again. It felt kind of like a horse, but a very skinny one. She walked further in, keeping her hand on the thestral until she found the wings, which felt like oversized batwings. Her eyes were full of wonder as she felt around, and she smiled as she turned to the boy. "So, what's your name?" She felt like this was an appropriate time to ask this question.

lol *claps*
Alex tensed up as the girl gave him a hug. What? He barely knew her. But, luckily she hugged him instead of someone else, because the boy liked hugs, and wasn't bothered by them. He hugged her back lightly. She let go, looking him in the eyes. She looked calm, but he could see beyond that. She looked a bit panicked. You could see it in her eyes. He smiled at her lightly. "Don't worry, I don't mind. And thank you for the hug, hugs are always lovely." he said with a small smile. He turned away, still a sad person behind his small smiles. He just seemed to get into the worst situations. First, his mother died when he was six. Then his aunt on his father's side died when he was 9. When he was seven, his father decided it was the best option to send them to London, where their uncle on their mother's side lived. His family was extremely rich, but extremely broken. He shook out of his thoughts. This was not the time to be sad. He was here now, with a bunch of friends, and possibly a new one also. He smiled as the girl felt the thestral, guiding her hands sometimes. She asked what his name was. "Alex Cheong at your service. And you are?"

My grammar and spelling is really bad in this thread
"My name's Sylvie, Sylvie Maple. You can call me whatever you want though, but people find it difficult to give me nicknames so I don't really have one." Sylvie smiled happily as she continued to touch the thestral. This was actually one of the creatures she wanted to see, well she could never really see it but she wished she could without witnessing death. This was probably the closest she was going to get. She also wanted to see a dragon, an acromantula, a hippogriff, a boggart, a basilisk, and a dementor, even though a lot of those things were dangerous, especially the basilisk. It was strange for someone to want to see one with their own eyes, but Sylvie was a bit adventurous in that sense. Her sister said she was going to get herself killed one day, but she didn't really mind the prospect of dying.
She turned to the boy, frowning. "He still looks sad, well, hugs don't fix everything. Besides he just told me about his dead mother. Maybe I should change the conversation topic to get his mind off of it..." It was slightly hard to think of something to change the topic too after all the thestral would probably keep reminding him of death. "Which house are you in? I don't think I've seen you around. I'm in Slytherin." She pointed to the emblem on her chest. "I can't really tell for you since you're wearing that coat."

Don't worry, it's fine XD
"Pleasure to meet you Sylvie. I think I'll just call you that, I think that's a perfect name for you." he said with a smile. The Asian boy had already seen most creatures, but the ones that he definitely hadn't seen were basilisks and dementors. He probably couldn't ever see a basilisk because he thought the last one was killed in the Chamber of Secrets by the infamous Harry Potter, but who knows, there were probably some still out there. He wouldn't want to see one either. They would kill you, and they had sharp teeth. Also, Alex was kind of afraid of snakes. The poisonous ones, at least. Dementors were definitely not something that Alex wanted to see. Who would want their soul sucked out of them by a creepy, evil, hooded black skeleton thing with no eyes? When near them, they take your best memories and make it so you don't feel cheerful in their presence. Yeah, no thank you, he's good to keep his soul. He turned back to Sylvie. She said that she was a Slytherin. "Oh? Nice, I'm a Ravenclaw. And yeah, the coat is covering up everything." he said with a small chuckle.

She smiled as he chuckled. "Okay, we're on the right path... " Sylvie continued to look at the boy. "Hmm.. that makes sense. You seem like a Ravenclaw, well I only know a couple Ravenclaws, but you seem... I don't know, I'm tired," She said, a little embarrassed. She didn't really know why she thought he seemed like a Ravenclaw she just did. She'd always been bad at explaining things like this.
Sylvie felt the wings in her hands. "Thestrals only come out when it's dark. We probably aren't supposed to be here. Well, when will I ever get to see, well, feel a thestral again?" Suddenly she felt something hit her and she fell to the ground. She wasn't hurt since she landed in the snow, but now she was freezing. She started shivering violently and she sat there. The snow was pretty deep so it was hard for her to get up. "I must've got hit by its wing. It probably doesn't like when people touch it there. I should've known..." Sylvie brushed the snow off her arms and legs, trying to get it out of the spots where a part of it hid. "Ugh, looks like they don't like being touched there!" Sylvie giggled, attempting to stand up, and failing countless times.

Alex laughed a little. "Thank you, and that's literally me and my thinking like, every day. You seem like a Slytherin, although I can't pinpoint the reason." he said with a smile, his eyes shaped like crescent moons. He was glad that he met someone like Sylvie. She seemed quite ditzy at first just looking at her and her actions for some reason, but after a while, she just changed personalities, and it made way more sense. Alex was shocked out of his thoughts as he saw Sylvie get hit by the thestral's wing. DO NOT TOUCH THEIR WINGS IF YOU CAN NOT SEE THEM. That's what he always kept in his mind to tell people if they were with him and a thestral. Shoot. He ran to her. "Sylvie! Are you okay!?" he asked. She got out of the snow, shivering. Alex internally smacked his head. She giggled and said it seemed like it didn't like being touched there. "Yeah, no shit Sherlock," he thought in his head. He sighed and went to help her for she kept on falling back into the snow. "Yeah, sorry I should've warned you about that. You seemed to be sort of poking them, so I'd see why they didn't like that." he held a hand out for Sylvie.
