"Hmmm... I know...GRYFFINDOR!"

Cheers and hands clapped from fellow Gryffindor students and professor, as a look of surprise was on the young girl's face. For years, her family had been proud members of Hufflepuff; Rarely ever be placed in another house. But to her surprise, she was placed into Gryffindor.

Jules walked past the Hufflepuff table, greeting a few of the first years with a sad smile. Friends that she already had planned on making when she was placed into Hufflepuff. But, she suppose they can continue remaining as acquaintances. As she headed towards the Gryffindor table, she greeted her fellow housemates with a grin, sitting down to the first empty seat she spotted.

As she sat down, she looked to her right to another first year making small talk before looking to her left to a blonde haired boy. "Hello, are you an upper year, too? What year are you in?" Her icey blue eyes stared at the boy with curiosity, she wasn't going to lie - he was cute.

"Are both of your parents students of Hogwarts? My father was a wizard and my mom was a Muggle. Guess you can say I'm a Half-Blood."

Scott applauded frevently at every name, as well as at every determined house, just as if each one of them was just as important to him as they were to those poor little first-years skipping up and down the podium like they had last year. The students around him didn't do the same. Only when they got to welcome another Gryffindor to their table, did they clap. Scott wanted none of that. He'd just seen Elijah from the train get sorted, like they'd expected, into Slytherin, and from over at the Hufflepuff table he could see Ami enjoying her place.

So the reason as to why he should only clap for his own house was to him indeterminable.
"Hmmm... I know... Gryffindor!"
They all lifted from their pews in unison again, to welcome this last girl to join their Gryffindor family. She seemed dazed at first, admittedly like so many of the eleven-year-olds, but once she got to their side of the hall Scott was delighted to find her a bubbly girl taking the empty spot on the bench next to him.
"Hello, are you in an upper year, too? What year are you in? Are both of your parents students of Hogwarts? My father was a wizard and my mom was a Muggle. Guess you can say I'm a Half-Blood."
Scott grinned, and turned in his seat to fully face her as the food hadn't appeared yet. He liked all the information, that was his kind of talk. Which is why he mirrored her behavior:

"Why, I am! Second year, to be precise. Basically an adult. And I'm a half-blood, too- since dad's a muggle born. He's Irish, as well, but don't tell anyone I said that because my brother is pretending we're all Scottish. He thinks it's cooler."

He chuckled and scratched his nose before reaching his right hand forward.
"Welcome to Hogwarts, and to Gryffindor house. The name is Scott Alexander."

Her heart nearly skipped a beat when Scott mentioned he was a Half-blood, too. Her parents warned her that there will be students who are Half-bloods, too. It made her feel a bit more comfortable knowing that she wasn't the only Half-blood in her house.

"You're a Half-blood, too?" She practically exclaimed in excitement. "My mother is a Muggle, but my Father was a Wizard. He was in Hufflepuff."

The smile remained on her face, as she shook his hand. "I'm Jules Blackburn. I'm really happy to be in Gryffindor." She removed her hand from his grasp, placing it over her lap. A soft laugh escaped from her lips, nodding. "I heard Scottish are suppose to be cooler than us English." A devious smirk climbed up on her lips, placing a index finger to her lips. "Your secret is safe with me."

Suddenly, food magically appeared on the Gryffindor table as the blonde's eyes grew wide. Her blue eyes showing awestruck. "Woah..." She served herself a plate of lamb chops and vegetables, and began eating. She turned her attention back to Scott, tilting her head to the side. "What are the professors like here? I heard they're excellent, but a few can be a bit mean at times. Is that true? What are your favorite classes? I'm looking forward to the potions and flying classes."

Scott hadn't really thought much of his teachers over the summer, mostly just of the friends he'd like to see again. But now he couldn't recall any memory of meanness, regardless.

"Oh, I don't know about that," he said, "most of them are more than fine! My favourite class is potions, I think, 'cause it's what I'm the best at.. Flying, not so much, though. I mean I do what I can, but I'm not like my brothers who are crazy about it! Have you ever flown before?"

Scott turned back to the table after smiling and immediately began reaching for the bread rolls, stacked dangerously as they were on a silver cake dish. He was hungry, to say the least, and hadn't gotten a single thing to eat on the train with Elijah (much would be to his mother's displeasure)- and this food was the best he'd ever eaten. Not that he'd ever break his heart by telling his dad this.

"You should try these. And these." He started pointing to and handing Jules different foods as he spoke. "And these. You know, every class has its thing. I even like history of magic, at times, but charms is the one that gets the most exciting. It's also the one that requires us to read the least, and I suppose that could have something to do with it.."

Scott laughed, then looked back at Jules again before eating. "How does Gryffindor feel, then? You didn't look quite delira and excira about it for a moment there."
