As per usual, class had been a rousing success for Damien.

Learning was something that came easy to him, nothing he really had to work at, but rather something he enjoyed, that came naturally. Not everyone was as...enamored by his intelligence as his housemates and friends, but Damien tended to have such a sunny disposition that even those who could be annoyed by his classification as a 'know-it-all' tended to grudgingly like him regardless. By the end of his Transfiguration class, he was cheery, a little smug and had earned twenty points for his house.

All in all, a good lesson.

Sweeping all his supplies into his bag, Damien hoisted his satchel (rather more disorganized than one might expect), and hung the strap over his shoulder. It pulled at the muscle of his shoulder and...yeah maybe he should clean it out soon. He smiled at his Ravenclaw friend, waving her on while he carefully stacked two books to hoist under his arm. "Don't worry! I'll catch up." He called, knowing that being late was a big thing for his friend.

Some people couldn't abide it, but Damien would rather be late than accidentally leave anything behind, especially his books. With everything squared away, he scooped it all up and turned to head out of the now empty classroom, only to run straight into another boy, sending both of them flying to the ground with the force of the slam. "Ooof!" He said, his satchel breaking his fall, but only slightly, landing on his palm and jerking his wrist back as pain jolted through it. "Ow..." He complained with a frown, holding his wrist as he glanced towards the other boy.

"I'm sorry. Are you okay?"

Lucien had a free period, he could work on his potions with out being bothered. He'd simply make his way to the study hall and avoid any human contact in any way possible. People were his sister's thing, not his. Carrying his three book he kept with him at all times he made past a class as an unknown force ran right into him knocking him to the ground. The books scattered as his notes that had been tucked into one went skidding across the floor.

He grabbed the sheet before it went too far, ignoring the boy speaking to him until everything was neat again. Last time his notes had gotten disorganized he had messed up everything for that class. Once everything was neatly tucked back where it should be, not exactly in the right order, his blue and green eyes glared up at the Ravenclaw. "I swear, people like you are going to be the death of me." He said hissing the words with venom lacing his tone.

He stood up pulling a pair of glasses out of his pocket. For once he was glad he carried them around. He'd been knocked over by about three different people in the halls, and this made the fourth time. "Do you need these? Because you appear to be blind to anyone trying to be on time. I am mostly definitely not ok, I am late and my notes are probably messy now. Today trampling the Escanora heir seems to be a fun sport for people, please do be aware of your surroundings." He sighed, calming down a little after speaking to gather his composure.

His attempts to check in with the boy he'd run into were met with a wall of silence that made his brow furrow. Damien was a particularly sunny character, despite how much time he spent buried in books and studies, so it was odd to him that, in trying to be polite, he'd somehow garnered this stranger's dislike. It made him wrinkle his nose a bit, shifting back defensively as the boy finally finished his meticulous organization (which Damien wished he could maintain) and addressed him at last. And not in the way Damien had been hopeful for.

The amount of venom speared through the Slytherin's tone made him take half a step back.

"Well jeez...it was an accident!" He protested, chin lifting in a brash sort of motion; nothing like the elegance this other boy seemed to have. Damien had never been good at controlling his emotions; he tended to wear his heart on his sleeve and his feelings slapped across his face like a sign on a Muggle highway. Easy to see, easy to read.

The other boy spoke like something out of a Dickens book and it made Damien blink at him before scowling, deciding that he'd probably been insulted. "Well maybe you should watch where you're going too! It's not a one way street." Irritated, he bent to swipe a folded piece of parchment that had landed between his feet. "Here. So freaking organized that you missed one." He generally wasn't so quick to anger but the other boy's mannerisms and the expression on his face somehow made Damien want to argue with him. Escanora huh? He'd remember that name.

"An heir huh? Lemmee guess, you're from some high and mighty pureblood family and think you're a prince?" Damien should have let it go but something in him wanted to pluck at that irritation he could see in the other boy, twist his handsome features a little more. It was pretty unlike him. "Well I don't see a crown, Escargot, so maybe you should think about WHY you're getting trampled over and over rather than blaming everyone else."

Damien didn't pick fights. He certainly didn't make snippy comments at cute boys. And he didn't admire the sharp curl of a lip when those comments were recieved. He had no idea what had gotten into him but he was helpless to stop it all the same.

Lucien quickly took the paper stuffing it back in his books. He couldn't afford to lose another, not again. "When you get trampled everyday I think you would be a bit bitter as well." He stated with a little less malice in his voice. Lucien huffed in annoyance while listening to Ravenclaw in front of him speak. "Why yes, that's me. Lucien Escanora from a high and mighty pureblood family, may as well kneel before me before it's too late." He said dramatically with a sweet tone, while putting his hand on his head as if he was going to faint.

He dropped the hand and the kinder voice with in an instant. "Oh please, I don't think that highly of myself I'm not a fool. And I know why I keep getting trampled. My sister pays random people to knock me over so she can get some sort of fun out of my misery." Lucien said as his eyes narrowed slightly. Although, he hadn't seen his sister nearby so perhaps it had truly been an accident.

"Let's have it then. Who are you, obviously no one really special seeing as I don't know you." He said crossing his arms. He mentally scolded himself for being so rude instantly, It wasn't that he meant to, but in a way he kind of did. Emotions had never been his families strong point, they tended to stick with two emotions and never let go of them, unlike his sister who was just bitter and twisted simply because she had nothing better to do, Lucien was just bitter and cold due to his childhood.

He didn't know what he'd done to get the boy all twisted up but Damien's pride kicked him straight in the chest, though it had never been a very prominent feature of his before. When the other boy snatched his paper, he entertained a very brief thought of just holding onto it, watching it tear and ruin whatever it was that was so important. But he didn't....mostly because he thought about his own notes or homework getting ripped that way and felt a bit guilty at the thought.

And he couldn't tell if this Lucien was being sarcastic or not.

This was not going how Damien had expected when he'd responded so vigorously.

Lifting a hand to rub at the back of his neck, the Ravenclaw made an irritated face. "I don't know who your sister is. I don't even know who the Escanora family is. And I don't care. It doesn't give you the right to be so...." He trailed off, gesturing with his other had at Lucien like he wasn't sure what words would be appropriate, his gaze moving down his body then back up, eyes narrowed. "Why would your sister pay people to knock you over? That seems...stupid. And a waste of money if she can just do it herself. You're pretty easy to knock over."

The question made his temper flick back and he scowled at the other boy. "Maybe you just don't pay enough attention. The world's a stain beneath your feet, right?" He snarled and contemplated refusing to give his name. But now he wanted this boy to know it. His name wasn't anything to be brandished like a sword, but if it bothered Lucien, Damien was more than happy to give it. "I'm Damien Waters. And if you're always this much of a jerk, I take back my earlier observation about your sister paying people to knock you over being stupid."

Lucien was full prepared to send insults flying if needed. He almost did, opening his mouth to say something as the other male spoke up. It kind of shocked him. Finally a person who didn't know who he was, or who his sister was. "O-oh, you don't- Oh I'm terribly sorry then. I figured you were just one of her people she paid to torture me for fun. I'm not normally like this, I'm sorry." He stuttered a bit for a moment.

He tapped his hands together, fidgeting slightly, as he normally did when in conversations with people or odd circumstances. "I'm not exactly good at conversations and meeting people, obviously." He said in a calm tone, drastically opposite of earlier. He wasn't normally this bitter, but something that morning had ticked him off and he'd been fuming ever since. Now here he stood, fidgeting and a little bit nervous all of a sudden.

"I feel terribly sorry, I should probably introduce myself better again, I'm Lucien, feel free to call me Lu." He said with a rather soft expression holding his hand out, which was shaking a bit due to panic setting over. Not only was it a new person, it was a boy in front of him, and a cute one, no wonder he was nervous.
