The day was cold and the streets were covered in a white blanket of snow. It was an unpleasant time, especially for the newborn child that lay wailing in its mother's arms. Evangeline Pierce was born on such a day.

Pierce Manor was large and, despite its many residents, to Evangeline, it still felt empty. It was located about a mile or two away from the city of Oxford. The Manor was a very miserable place, the only thing capable of making it cheerful were its residents. Pierce Manor resembled an old, bygone castle, worn down by years of abandon and lack of care.

Evangeline was the youngest of two daughters, favored at birth. Her sister, Celeste Pierce, was a Squib, receiving a lot of disappointment and dislike from the Pierces. Celeste had spent her whole life in the Manor and Evangeline pitied her because of that, the Manor was not much of a home to either of them and Celeste had to spend her life rotting away in it. If Evangeline was given the choice to leave the damned place she would do so without a second glance.

Evangeline had one companion whilst she was growing up at the Manor. Marli Haven. The girl was the first person to melt Evangeline's cold exterior with a mere glance from her bright, hazel eyes.

The Havens - who were old friends of the Pierce family - had a summer home which was reasonably close to Pierce Manor. It was easy enough for Marli and Evangeline to get to know each other, especially with the frequent visits that occurred between the Pierces and the Havens. It was clear that the residents of Pierce Manor were eager to be in the presence of somebody other than their family.

Marli and Evangeline bonded quickly, much quicker than expected since Evangeline was usually silent and reserved, preferring to observe. Marli's bright, cheerful personality contrasted Evangeline's nicely, starting an unexpected friendship and Evangeline soon developed feelings for the girl, ones that were never voiced due to their young age.

The Havens moved to France when Marli turned eleven, enrolling their child in Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, the school that their family favored. That was the last Evangeline ever saw of Marli, though the two girls attempted to write each other letters, they were unable to persist in their letter writing for long.

Evangeline was barely ten years old when her sister disappeared. Celeste had vanished very suddenly and unexpectedly. The incident had left all of the residents of Pierce Manor shocked and concerned for Celeste's safety. During the time her sister was missing, the family's focus was only on the case. They were all, understandably, desperate to find out where the oldest child was. Except for a few comforting words from her mother, Evangeline's presence was practically dismissed by her parents.

It was an experience that Evangeline will never let go of. Her parents had completely ignored her existence, letting Evangeline slip into loneliness whilst the search for her missing sister continued.

Three months later, they found Celeste Pierce's corpse.

Evangeline is, undoubtedly, a beautiful girl. Her dark hair frames her pale face and falls just past her shoulders in soft waves. Evangeline's eyes are piercing. They are a cold, pale blue color, causing her dark eyelashes to stand out even more and adding to her threatening appearance. Evangeline's skin is fair, contrasting with the darkness of her dark hair and red lips and giving her a look of icy beauty.

She stands at quite an average height of 4'7, slightly taller than some students but not by a lot.





Evangeline possesses many of the traits that make up the Slytherin house. She is extremely ambitious as well as cunning and will definitely do what she must to accomplish what she wants to. Evangeline can be very arrogant and haughty at times, probably because of her upbringing. She was constantly surrounded by wealthy pure-bloods who thought very highly of themselves and their families. Evangeline is extremely competitive and feels the need to be better than everybody else, even when it comes to insignificant things.

Evangeline has a difficult time talking about her emotions, she often keeps things like that from other people, not wanting them to know what's going on inside of her head. Despite not always doing the right thing, sometimes Evangeline's intentions are good, but they are carried out badly. It takes her a long time to feel really comfortable around people, even if she considers them to be her friends. She is very protective of the people that she's close to, especially if she feels loyal to that person (which is possible, but highly unlikely).

The Marques family is a very well-known family in Spain, known for their power in the wizard and witch community there and for being a 100% pure-blooded family. The house is not kind towards wizards or witches that have any ties to Muggles and no members of the family have been known to break the pure-blood line. Their wealth comes from their high rank in the wizarding society in Spain and also because of the many successful careers that they have had. The majority have attended Beauxbatons Academy of Magic since it is closest to Spain, but some have traveled to other schools in Europe.






The Pierces are a very prestigious house, though they are not as wealthy as the Marques family. However, they are among the more well-known pure-bloods in England. They are a fully pure-blood house, though they are not as strict as the Marques family when it comes to blood status. Their wealth mostly comes from the success of their ancestors, though many Pierces are known for their exceptional work. All members of the Pierce family (going as far back as is possible to trace) have attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, making it quite a familiar name among the staff and possibly even the students. Almost all of the Pierces have been sorted into the noble house of Slytherin, and those that haven't are rarely spoken about.
