Kaitlyn Ross | Hufflepuff | First year

Kaitlyn Ross grew up in a crowded household in London. It was a big house with 3 floors and lots of space to play. She had four siblings -Amy, 7 years old, Adam, 12 years old, Keff, 13 years old, and Aaron, 15 years old. They were all constantly fighting and everything was chaotic. Kaitlyn’s mom is pureblood Auror, and her dad is a Muggle university teacher. At school, Kaitlyn didn’t have many any friends. She was an outsider, partially because she was always anxious when speaking to anyone but herself. The kids at school weren’t mean to her. They just didn’t really notice her.
Kaitlyn had some escapes from life, too. Her first one was playing the violin. At 9 years old, she started playing. The sound of the music drowned down all her worries. The feeling of her fingers gripping the violin bow, moving slowly across the strings. That was her pleasure. Then there was reading - all fiction, books that made fantasy real. And finally, running. Whenever a day had been particularly rough, Kaitlyn would go running. She got into races, too. Sprints, long distance, anything. As long as it was running and at the end there was pink lemonade to greet her.
Then there was Tresh, who deserved a paragraph all by herself. She was a domestic shorthair Kaitlyn had found alone in the streets when she was five years old. The special thing about her was that she was a tripaw cat. Tresh was missing a back paw. Five year old Kaitlyn hadn’t found this strange at all. The two had instantly bonded, and now Tresh had her own room (next to Kaitlyn’s).
Kaitlyn’s life was mildly ordinary. That was, until the day she turned eight.







“Maybe you’re a Squib.” Keff told her, ruffling his brown hair. Kaitlyn frowned at him.
“Am not,” she said stubbornly. Keff rolled his eyes, rambling on about how even Amy had shown her magic already. Kaitlyn walked into Tresh’s room, hoping she would growl at Keff and reassure her.
Tresh was on the ground, whimpering. Her missing leg seemed to be paining her.
“Tresh?” Kaitlyn whispered. The cat was lying down, half conscious of what was happening. Her white tail was wrapped around her body, curling herself into a tight ball.
Kaitlyn gasped at the view of what was happening.
“She’s not gonna make it, Kait.” Keff whispered.
A tear fell down the girl’s cheeks.
She hugged Tresh into her arms and kissed her forehead.
“I wish I could save you,” she whispered, her voice muffled into the cat’s fur.
Kaitlyn fell into her surprised brother’s arms, out cold.
Tresh was back up. She still had three legs. Yet she wasn’t whimpering or scared anymore.
Kaitlyn had healed her.



Kaitlyn is very helpful and will never hesitate to lend a hand to someone in need. She is also very smart and excels in most of her classes. However, she is also anxious, especially when talking to people she doesn't know well. She is shy and reserved around strangers, but once she gets to know someone, her true personality begins to shine through — bubbly, energetic, and chaotic.
Kaitlyn also tends to overthink things, often replaying situations in her head and worrying about little details that others might not even notice.
In short, Kaitlyn is gentle and reserved around strangers, but bubbly and chaotic around her closest friends.





Kaitlyn has fair skin and medium-length curly blonde hair. Her glasses - round and black-rimmed - frame her sparkly and soulfoul green-blue-grey eyes perfectly. Their unusual blend of colors make them stand out. She wears her hair loose, except whilst doing sports.
