Halloween had always been one of those occasions Stelle looked forward to with a certain excitement, though not necessarily for the reasons one might imagine. She enjoyed scary stories, of course, as well as the prospect of Hogwarts filling up for a night with creatures that likely had no intention of behaving like ordinary ones. But above all, she relished the excuse to do something different. There was something particularly fun about being able to choose who she wanted to be for a few hours.

That afternoon, she found herself once again standing before one of the posters announcing the party in the dungeons. She had already read it several times, yet she kept pausing in front of it, as if some new information might appear between readings. The promise of sweets, costumes, and a night free from schoolwork was compelling enough on its own. The costume itself, however, was another matter. Stelle had considered various possibilities over the last few days, though none had managed to hold the top spot on her list for long. Some were too complicated, others required items she would likely spend hours hunting down, and a few simply stopped seeming like good ideas once she pictured herself wearing them.

She had also discovered that choosing a Halloween costume revealed quite a bit about a person. She could pick something she had always loved, something related to magical creatures, a character from a story, or even something utterly absurd that made sense only at a party like that. The more she thought about it, the more options appeare, and that was precisely the problem.

She ended up leaning lightly against the wall as she studied the poster, her arms crossed and a thoughtful expression on her face. Perhaps she was overcomplicating a decision that didn't require so much attention. After all, no one was going to examine the costumes the next day or grade her on creativity. But Stelle found it hard to let a decision rest when she still felt there might be a better option out there.

A stream of students walked down the corridor, and she had to step aside to make room for them. She looked at the poster again. The party was the following night. She still had time. That, rather than putting her at ease, gave her more opportunities to change her mind. She let out a sigh and finally stepped away from the wall. Maybe she should stop looking for the perfect costume and just pick something fun. It was Halloween, after all; there was no point in taking it too seriously.

She was about to leave when she spotted someone approaching down the hallway and stopping in front of the poster. It was Millie. Stelle recognized her immediately; after all, she had really enjoyed her tarot reading. Their conversation had flowed easily and left her feeling a thrill of curiosity. She thought that perhaps bouncing some ideas around might help her finally make a choice.

____October in her mind was already full of pumpkin: decorations, pies, costumes which either that silly or creepy theme. She always likes that merrier although she never really have a friend or company to go with at that exact day and occasion. So now she wondered, if she will repeat that again this year or maybe there's some hope awaiting her.
____Right just a day before Halloween, Millie walked down the corridor as usual after her class finished. Not that bothersome nor exhausting that makes her immediately return to her common room right away. Her pace a little bit slower than usual even. And her eyes, slowly catch up by something new appeared in the wall. Obviously not a part of the living pictures or some mechanism that triggered something out of the stairs. She squinted her eyes, walking closer to it until her face just about an arm length from the poster.
____A pumpkin poster. Though not exactly as she hopes it is, it's actually an invitation poster of Halloween Party tonight in ... huh, dungeon? Interesting. Her eyes continued read the words in it, looking for any clue that scream pie or any pumpkin delicacies beside the obvious pumpkin head mask. The only thing she caught was just a costume, bringing some companies, and such, and such.
____She hummed, considering this inviting invitation yet not to the point of outstanding for her part. Until she heard a familiar voice came to her ears. Wistful, knowledgeable, yet rational Miss Mims!
____"Yes! Yes, how could I forget you," she nodded with a genuine, bright smile to Stelle and somehow quickly got a point, voiced her curiosity as she pointed the poster and asked, "Do you also interest in this things to by any chance? Halloween in its scary-thing part, or the costume-party part?"
