Nature
Elena loved nature as far as she could remember. Nature was soothing and relaxing especially to Elena when she ever felt stressed. The scent of the freshly mowed lawn, the breathable air, the wind and everything felt so relaxing there was really no word other than bliss to describe Elena when she was outside. She was also an avid fan of gardening as allowing new flowers to grow was something Elena enjoyed so much. Her favorite flower would have to have been the rose. A rose could symbolize many things but Elena loved how beautiful the red of it was. She just wished that Hogwarts could have a rose garden, with a perfect little elegant white bench in between the flowers and maybe even a path around the lush garden. That would bring Elena such peace, but only a girl could dream. Elena made her way down to the lake to sit down and just watch its beauty, especially today seeing something serene would help her out a bit. Today wasn't especially her day although she managed as she knew she could always come to the peaceful lake. Elena took a few minutes to watch the serene lake, until she heard someone behind her.

Nature
Lily had been aimlessly wandering around for awhile, needing to get out of the castle. The only thing she'd ever heard at home was Willow barking or her siblings laughing, so all the conversation and noise that happened could get more than slightly overstimulating. While perhaps she wasn't deaf like the rest of her family, she certainly didn't have perfect ears either. That was part of the reason why coming out here was always so nice. Then again, it was also partially because her heart cried out for the little farm by the muddy marsh in the middle of a beautiful forest.
She had seemed to enjoy the things that were out here much more than she enjoyed the things that were inside the castle. As fascinating as Transfiguration and History of Magic certainly were not, Herbology had been her favorite class since the second it started, and the only one she was at least halfway decent at. But one of the most fun things to do was sit against a tree by the lake, break out the sketch book and pencil, and sketch away to her hearts content. But this time as her crutches dragged her lame form across the grass, someone else was nearby.
She tilted her head slightly at the other girl, "hello."

Elena turned her torso around to see the girl behind her. "hello" she said while tilting her head to the side. Elena studied the girl for a few seconds, she obviously noticed the crutches that held up the girl although she didn't mind that as much. Elena was more focused on the girls blue robes, red hair, blue eyes and a nose littered with freckles. She seemed like an incredibly nice person.
"Hi, it's actually nice to meet someone out here by the lake, I have yet to meet many people who have come to the lake," Elena said sweetly. It truthfully was nice to have met someone for once at the lake, she believed that she was the only one who enjoyed looking at the serene water. Although, she had to acknowledge that many other students her age must've needed to relax every once in a while.
"I never got to ask, what is your name?" Elena asked. She was quite curious as this was a quite curious situation and who knew maybe the two would strike up a bit of a conversation. Of course, that would make Elena feel less alone outside and also she could also make a new friend.

Lily blinked a few times as the other girl started talking super faat, and she took a few moments to process what all of that was. After all, English was not her first language, so ordinarily these things would take at least two or three seconds. But this time there had been enough quantity in what the other girl had said that she had to think for a minute about what was extraneous. She'd never met someone who replied with so many words before. While it was an interesting change, parr of her couldn't help but wonder what the normal was.
"My name is Lily," she responded finally, and mulled over what the message had been in her head for another moment before inquiring, "what's yours?" She thought for another minute, and got her brain more into an English mode versus the Gaelic mode that she usually talked to herself in and waa the language that her thought process used. It just honestly seemed so much more natural than English... although she supposed that there was probably a reason why she had yet to encounter anyone else who spoke it fluently. Granted it was sort of a dting language, but still. Pulling her head out of the clouds, she refocused on the other girl.
