TREKKING

To start the third day of their adventures in Uagadou, students would enjoy some time trekking through the wilderness of the mountains. Students were ushered after breakfast to the grassy fields once more and taken to the edge where they had previously met for the guided walk. Today, however, the students would be having a little more freedom so to speak. They would be able to explore the area more than just on the trail. After taking some necessary precautions to put up a magical border to keep students from going to far up into the icy north of the mountain or out to far where the more dangerous wild animals ran, the students were given a map of the area that was enchanted to show where they were and where the meet up point was, both spots would glow a golden color on the page to help the students on their journey. Also prepared for the students were packs that held water bottles and some snacks as the students would likely be out exploring for a while. Nadira had taken extra care consulting with her staff and experts in crafting the event for the students to be able to safely learn and explore on their own.

Nadira stood in front of the students as they gathered into little groups, smiling as she began to speak. "Dearest guests, please use your maps wisely to make your way around. I look forward to hearing of your adventures upon your return this afternoon." She hoped the students would enjoy getting to be able to freely move on their own without a guide so they could make some memories while exploring the landscape. Although she hoped the staff were not going to have to go out and find any lost students later on, especially since they still had another event later on in the day.

Trek Area Info

Students will leave from the starting point and be able to explore in different directions, each will have different things in the area to check out. By the end of the trek students should be able to make their way to the meet up spot that will lead them out to the area the erumpent encounter thread will take place at. You don't have to visit every area just go wherever your heart takes you and have fun exploring.

The northern area would include a denser forest with a light fog rolling through it. The further north they go into this area the heavier the fog becomes and the more their sense of distance would become affected. In this area students are likely to find different species of birds, mundane and magical, that have made their home in the dense forest. Many plants can be found within this area, moss growing on trees, giant lobelias and giant groundsels.

To the west students would be able to explore through giant heather trees, bushes and ferns and, if they make it to the farthest point allowed in the bordered off area, students would be pleased to find a waterfall that fed into a river that flowed down the mountain. Students could also get a surprise visit by some Colobus Monkeys on their trek as well as some otters swimming in the river.

If the students chose to go south they would eventually move into the start of the dense bamboo forest of the mountain. As they traverse this area students might be lucky enough to spot the Black Eagle's nests, and maybe even the bird itself if they are really lucky. While traveling through this area students have the possibility of coming across a strange area where some large rocks were placed in a circle. They were deliberately placed there and look to be weathered and very old. Upon closer inspection they would find ancient carvings on the rocks that showed some of the early tribe members, the moon, one showing the girl who was said to visit the prospective students dreams, animals, and others that had been so worn you couldn't tell what they were (maybe some students would be able to take some guesses).
