The Fall Equinox Potluck Errand

Obscured by dozens of odd notes and reminders, a new poster appears on the bulletin board. Riddled with hasty sketches of fall leaves and eraser marks, a short poem is scrawled across the middle, followed by a single vague date and time. A single note taped to the bottom reads "bring food." Perhaps the lesser-educated wizards may not understand the meaning behind this, but those who have celebrated this single transitional day may quiver with excitement at the prospect of a potential celebration.

On the evening of September 22nd, a few hours after classes, students hustle down the halls and out to the grounds, just where the lumps of fraying grass meet newly rotted stumps. This is where the ceremony begins.

Strung across a large expanse of splintered wooden poles are lines of magical fairy lights, accompanied by dried orange and yellow leaves, swaying in the crisp breeze. Picnic benches are set out in uneven rows, long tablecloths prepared for platters of food. Students may place their dish of choice anywhere they please, and promptly take a plate to begin filling with delicious food.

Various activities are set up around the field, such as corn-hole, miniature summoner's court, and leaf-pressing. As dusk will soon fall over the party, quilts are laid out for future star-watching. But don't get too comfortable yet. The fall rituals have only just begun, and Lottie and Jrue have much more in store for the wandering witches and wizards on this impending Fall night...
