𝕷Avery loved Quidditch. There was no denying that. There was just something about the thrill and edge of your seat excitement the game brought. The constant looking over your shoulder for rogue bludgers beat back and forth by Beaters, the passing of the Quaffle from Chaser to Chaser, the guarding of the hoops the Keeper did, and, above all else, her job. The Seeker. The one that determined everything for the team. The one that made all that the team played for was worth it. It was the goal and job of the Seeker to find and catch a small golden ball called the snitch. Without that little golden ball in the team's possession, there was no way they would win the game.

That was why Avery chose to host a Quidditch event. Anyone who ever wanted to learn a thing or two about Quidditch could come. They would get to meet a real life Quidditch player who had played since she was a first year. Having the chance to get her mind off of her grandfather and teaching younger students and students her age or older about the sport she loved was worth every second. She would finally get to show off her passion.

She had borrowed some training supplies from the Quidditch lockers. There would be no need to use the official match equipment. The lioness also wore her crimson and gold Quidditch robes that flowed lightly in the crisp air and her hair was braided into two dutch braids. That was her normal Quidditch look she wore to every game. She also wanted to stand out to all the people interested in taking some lessons.

Now all that was left was to work with her first student. Each lesson would be short so she could reach as many students as possible, but her goal was simple. She wanted other to love Quidditch as much as she did.

Xio noticed the Quidditch supplies from a distance as she was heading back towards the castle, stopped in her tracks, and immediately broke into a sprint straight towards the third year Gryffindor, @Avery Gray. She was out of breath as she skidded on her heels against the momentum of her running, stopping just at the foot of the girl settled amongst the Quidditch equipment.

"Hello! What's going on over here? Wow, look at all of these! Are you going to play a game of Quidditch? I would love to get in some pointers! I'm hoping to become a Keeper for Ravenclaw one day! Oh by the way my name is Xio, nice to meet you!"

She exclaimed excitedly in what almost seemed like one long-winded sentence as she took note of all the different Quidditch equipment. The broomsticks, the various types of quidditch balls, the beater bats, it all excited her to see them up close and personal. Especially the fact that they all looked well worn in and used so it was evident the sport is loved and enjoyed.

"My older brother played Quidditch, so I know the general idea but this would be my first year actually participating rather than just watching! What would you recommend I focus on improving first to prepare for a spot on a Quidditch team?"

She finished with a question that was barely contained excitement.

𝕷Avery had barely set everything up when her first mentee arrived. The girl was a young Ravenclaw. A first year by the look of her. She was definitely eager. Eager enough to surprise Avery when she immediately began to speak. Her breathing labored from supposedly running all the way to the training pitch.

"Well, not exactly a game, but more a demonstration of Quidditch. I'm Avery Gray. Third year second string Seeker for Gryffindor. I'm out here today showing anyone interested how Quidditch works." Avery walked over to where her Silver Arrow was lying on the ground and she gently picked it up before walking over to the girl. Her broom now gripped firmly in her hand.

"A keeper for Ravenclaw, you say? Good choice. The Ravenclaw team was hard to beat last year. If I recall, they had the record for the most matches won. Though that is beside the point. A keeper is a key role as are all the other roles. Each Quidditch position contributes to the whole and makes the game function correctly. Lose a team member or position in a game, it becomes a lot harder to function. A keeper's main goal is to block the other team from scoring points. Now, this may sound easy, but it is not. There are so many high speed combinations that take practice and precision to master. Would you like to see a demonstration?"

Avery was no Keeper, but that did not mean she did not know how to do the role of one. SHe would probably be less precise as her fellow Quidditch players on Gryffindor that played the role perfectly, but it would do for a simple demonstration if the girl wanted one.

Avery thought for a moment when the girl asked her the question. "Well, I highly recommend you first focus on your precision and awareness. Everything in Quidditch requires you to be on your toes constantly and that I believe is what makes it thrilling. You always have to watch for those bludgers and know where the Quaffle or snitch are regardless of your position. If something goes wrong or one of your teammates falls, you need to be ready to catch them in a moment's notice."

Xio squealed in excitement as Avery explained the importance of the various roles, and how the overall team dynamic can be impacted at any given point, gaining her first tip on Quidditch.

"Quidditch is such an intense sport! The first Quidditch game my brother played he crashed into another Beater! Ma wasn't too happy to hear about that through an Owl but he was so proud. He said he was having so much fun that he hardly remembers the crash!"

Xio joked as she admired Avery's broom.

"That's a really pretty broom! I can't wait to own my own one day! I might end up getting a hand-me-down now that I think about it...but maybe that'll be good! It'll be broken in already!"

She quickly said as she daydreamed momentarily about flying on her own broom. Then, as if realizing she wasn't paying attention and being incredibly rude, she shook her head.

"I would love to see an example! I want to see what would be good forms for both defensive and offensive, good practices for blocking and avoiding the balls, I want to see it all!"

She said with a clap, jumping in place as she barely continued to keep her excitement from imploding.

"How did you handle your first time jitters? I'm sure paying attention in Flying will be plenty to help get comfortable with and on a broom but I'm sure it's different when you're actively in a game! Especially since you have to consider so many things at once!"
