Welcome to the first edition of The Puzzle Paper. This short article is designed for young witches and wizards to test their minds, with a variety of logic puzzles. About every month, a fresh article will arrive in the Hogwarts Library, ready to be taken and solved. Born - September 24, 1891
Died - November 2, 1969
William Friedman was an American cryptographer, alongside his wife, Elizebeth. When America set up it's cryptological service, he trained many Army officers in codebreaking. During this time, he wrote many "technical monographs". He is particularly well known for breaking codes during WWI and WWII, including the "Japanese Purple Code."
