Getting an owl Pet

Pets.

According to the Hogwarts rules, Aaron was allowed to take one pet with him. The question was which pet should he take? There were owls, cats, toads, rats, pygmy puffs, lizards, spiders, bunnies, ferrets, fish, or half-crups to choose from.

From his perspective, an owl felt like the best choice. Owls didn't have to be carried the entire time and were rather intelligent themselves. He knew they would be quite helpful if he ever needed to send a post to his family or anyone else for that matter.

Yes, the school did have owls of their own, but having a personal owl bring the letter for you, that was just a different feeling. Aaron had experienced that when he received letters from Rocky's personal owl, who used to often write to him from Hogwarts. This was what prompted Aaron to start saving up for his owl.

After an unsuccessful trip to Magical Menagerie where Aaron made a new frenemy, but was unable to get an owl, he walked back to his room dejectedly.

Unbeknownst to him, his parents had already planned to buy him an owl, or not make him pay for his owl as they wanted one for the house. They wanted Aaron to choose it as they knew if they told him they wanted a family owl, he wouldn't have chosen his favourite owl and would have left it for them to choose. Now they know what his favourite was: a snowy owl.

The next morning, when Aaron woke up, his parents told him that they needed to go to the post office as they had to drop a mail for his maternal grandmother. He continued his day as usual without any problems.

Later that day he was told he was finally going to receive his birthday gift.
"But you already gave me one on my birthday, so now?"
Aaron asked.
"That collided with the day you got your letter from Hogwarts. So we need to give you another gift to celebrate the day you turned 11, Ar."
his father, Arnold, said.
"But why do I have to get ready?"
he asked.
"We'll go out after giving you your gift."
his mother, Megan, said.

They traveled to Diagon Alley and went towards the Magical Menagerie.
"An owl! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!"
Aaron said as soon as he saw where they were. He hugged his parents tightly and started going inside.
"We realised how much you liked the Snowy Owl, so this time we placed an order beforehand and came here when it was ready to be bought."
his mother said, hugging him back.

As they entered the shop the shop owners called to them and told them the Snowy Owl was ready to be taken.

Mr. Witticker, the shop owner, asked Aaron what he would like to name the owl. He was informed it was a female child owl.
"I think the best name for her would be: Minerva. Just like the goddess and former headmistress of Hogwarts, she'll be there to guide me when I need her help the most. I can feel it."
"Congratulations Ar on getting your pet. I hope you write to us frequently with her and we write back to you. Hopefully she'll be there when you need her the most."
his father said.

After finishing the purchase (when his parents told him the owl was from their side and he wouldn't be paying a single sickle), Aaron and his family went home to drop of Minerva before going out for a wonderful dinner as a family.
