Millicent Barnes-Hufflepuff
Millicent Barnes saw herself as a pretty normal girl, growing up. She had her parents, a younger sister named Agnes, a pet cat, and a (mostly) harmless incident when she was three years old.
Until of course, her Hogwarts acceptance letter came. When Millicent walked home from her first day as a seventh grader, she found a little owl perched on the bench, looking up at her expectantly. The owl was small, brown, had amber eyes, and tilted her head when she saw her.
"Well, hello little friend,” she said warmly when she saw the owl. Then she noticed it—a letter in the owl’s mouth. “What have you got there?”
The owl looked at her, dropped the letter on the bench and flew off.
When Millicent showed the letter to her family, her mother’s face went ghastly white, her father’s eyes widened to a comical level and Agnes… was a bright, happy eight-year old.
“Fun letter!” was all the little girl said.
Some explanations were in order. Turns out her mother was a witch, which Millicent is still grasping with, and her father was a Muggle—a normal human, she figured out ten minutes in. Oh, and the “harmless incident” that she thought she imagined—she didn’t. The Ministry of Magic fixed her little mess with that and her mother never said a word.
She was absolutely furious with her mom and only after learning the whole story did she calm down. It just so happened that when she had the incident, her mother confessed that she was a witch and her father, feeling betrayed, fled the family for a time. Now he supposedly got over it but everyone knew the underlying thought:
Would it happen again? Would Edward William Barnes, in his panic and fear, flee because not only had he married a magical person, he fathered at least one other?
Millicent also had a hard time separating herself from the cat and her sister, Agnes. They had a tearful goodbye, with Agnes making her promise she would send letters as often as she could, even if her hands ached after days with a wand. She petted her cat many a time and promised to bring back “special wizard cat food.”
And so, Millicent is here. At Hogwarts. Curious yet scared of the thing that has altered her family for life—magic. She’s kind, afraid and she’s here. Ready to have some adventures of her own.
Only thing is… will they be good ones? Or bad ones?
1st magic incident:

At the tender age of three years old, she made the glass vase near the other toddlers shatter, spraying torn glass everywhere and releasing hissing flowers for all to see.
This is the incident that caused her mother to reveal herself and her father to flee. A few days later, some people in robes came to talk to Millicent and her mother. That was the first time she'd seen her mother's face so pale, ghastly white. She thought she imagined or dreamed the whole thing up, but now, she's realizing otherwise.....
