Millicent walked around the Viaduct, her eyes wide with anticipation.
So this is Hogwarts. The beginning of it, anyway.
She felt a nervousness prick in her stomach, like a rose waiting to show its thorns. She was approaching the place literally designed to teach you magic.
Knowledge is power. Knowledge is power against fear.
Sure, she was excited; excited to be a first-year Hufflepuff, excited to see the grounds, excited to learn magic and care for all of these creatures she'd never knew existed. But there was more to this stuff than just sparkles and rainbow magic. Her parents had drilled that into her from the moment she got her letter.
Be careful, Millie. You'll never know what's lurking behind any corner. If anything.
She'd heard tales of Dementors, of an evil murderer called Lord Voldemort (which she thought was an odd and funny name, one to laugh at) and even a Killing Curse, whatever that meant. So needless to say, Millicent walked on the Viaduct with wide eyes, staring at every brick, as if with one stroke of a wand, it could all come crumbling down.
It probably could, she thought and shuddered at it. She didn't like to think about such things. She liked to explore instead, which is what she began to do.

─────Lucian found himself roaming out in the Viaduct. He was mesmerized by the area. He was just trying to have some fun. He wanted to find places where he could see what Hogwarts was all about and see what new things Hogwarts had to offer. He was excited to be in Hogwarts. He had not made many friends yet. After all it was his first year.
Lucian was a first year and was excited to see what Hogwarts had to offer. He was good in studies that was for sure. He wanted to keep his focus on his studies and still have time to do some mischiefs. He had not snuck out to the grounds to check out the Viaduct earlier. This was the first time he was doing so. He was excited to see it.
Coming from a muggle family background he never thought he had missed on anything in his life. Till he reached Hogwarts. Everything here was so different. Run by magic. He had an amazing thing called a wand which was a tool of magic. His eyes wandered and spotted a girl his age. He jogged to her and smiled. "Hi, I am Lucian. And you are?" He asked hoping she might tell him her name.

Millicent almost jumped from the sound, pulling out her wand and getting up from her place, wincing as it earned her a couple of bruises. Finally, she looked up and saw the brown-haired boy looking at her hopefully and felt a heat come over her whole face.
How embarrassing! I barely get here, and already I've embarrassed myself in front of a cute boy! No, Millie, can't do that; can't have crushes, gotta focus on school.
In truth, the young student had done anything but focus on school for the past few days. She'd mostly been exploring Hogwarts and grasping the fact that she was here. In Hogwarts. In a place where magic existed and where magic had existed all this time. It was enough to give someone a headache or, in her case, a case of distraction.
"Sorry, I was s-so distracted!" she stuttered out. She gave him a little smile as she put her wand away. "I'm Millicent. Millicent Barnes. I'm a first year. And a Hufflepuff."
Good. Good introduction so far. Let's not screw things up.
"Nice to meet you, Lucian." Millicent's eyes seemed to sparkle as she began to ramble. "What year are you? What house are you? Do you like Hogwarts? What are you most excited for?"
